Well, I have my buttons that I picked up last night and that is the first thing I will do this morning after I blog. I also ripped 4 pairs of little person pants last night and I will do those first although I have an additional 6 pairs. UGH!
I had a bride come in yesterday afternoon to try on her dress and I placed all the lace. I am redoing her grandmother/mother's dress. It is fragile and some of the lace is discolored so we are replacing it and making the dress smaller after it was made larger. It is intricate work, but I love restoring dresses.
I also had a man come by with an expensive hunting coat, where the zipper kept splitting. He just needed a new zipper head, which was easy to fix in a few minutes, as I have all the parts on hand. I really dislike replacing zippers, so when I can just replace a part, I am thrilled, and so is the client. $5 and 5 minutes and they are on their way.
Got the list done from yesterday so I was pretty proud of myself. No Sissie today and I miss her. She and Dan had dentist appointments. I am an easy boss; I told her she could have the rest of the day off...*snort*
It is beautiful and warmer here than yesterday. I took water down to the chickens and one of them, is cannibalizing eggs. The problem is I don't know who it is.... I could see that three were destroyed. Cleaned up the mess and put down new bedding hoping to throw them off the scent.
I am going to Signe's tonight to work on furniture; I will spend the night and come home late afternoon tomorrow. I want to get a really good enamel and a good brush, so we have no brush marks. She was able to buy a really high-quality tall boy and a makeup table, from an antique store. If we do this right Kelsa should have this into college. Kelsa has an antique metal bedframe that was left at the house, so I plan on matching that as much as possible. We will have to do some major sanding, but I am sure it will be beautiful when it is done.
Now I just have to get a list for today, it is all about little person clothes!
5.shorten sleeves on two long sleeved sweatshirts.( got one done)
6. shorten sleeves on 6 t-shirts
This is a lot and I don't know how much I will get through, but I will do my best, what I don't finish Sissie can tackle on Monday. I want that wedding dress out by next Wednesday, so I need to be working on that.
No rest for the wicked. In my case it is the lazy, as I really should have been working harder on Tuesday, but I lolly gagged.
Okay joy for today is the fact that I am up and raring to go. Some days I don't have this and it is nice to feel energized and blessed with the spirit of "Let's get her done!"
Any joys today, Any plans for the weekend?
God is good
Kim

"Up and not crying" is a good way to be. (old Irish saying) You've got this Kim!!
ReplyDeleteI personally love that phrase.
DeleteEnergizer bunny, that is you today! I am in sloth mode. Church class tonight, that’s it. Well, today I made a crock pot beef stew, so that was productive. Happy sanding, Hilogene in Az.
ReplyDeleteI just want a nap!
DeleteNot a lazy bone in your body chickee. You ever heard of a slouch day? LOL
ReplyDeleteOh yes and I had one yesterday after church it was grand!
DeleteYou are a tornado in motion most of the time. Everyone deserves an off day!
ReplyDeleteI take one regularly
DeleteYou really got a great deal done finishing that list from yesterday. I know you will get this list mostly done today.
ReplyDeleteI hope the refinishing of the furniture goes well. Enjoy the change in tasks.
God bless.
Well we decided to leave it country chic as they say but room is rearranged.
DeleteI enjoy refinishing furniture. I hope it goes well for you.
ReplyDeleteWe left it country chic but we worked hard rearranging the room.
DeleteMy husband said if the chicken has a calcium deficiency
ReplyDeletethat will cause them to eat the their eggs.
Okay I will check into that.
DeleteOh, the gentleman must have been so happy to be out in 5 minutes with a new zipper!
ReplyDeleteBelinda
He was and so was I.
DeleteI'm trying to figure out what furniture to offer my son but I suppose need to really wait to see what he has room and space for. Then I'll help him second had source as much as possible. I see painting furniture in my future. You repair so fast! I'm sure $5 is going rate, but that seems so low to me. Have you thought if maybe a higher job minimum to account for your admin time too? It wasn't just 5 minutes as you had call to arrange drop off, source zipper, your tracking and taxes later. Just a thought so you don't underpay yourself for all your efforts in your business.
ReplyDeleteI have all the zipper parts here and it is done in less than 5 minutes.
DeleteLinda at practical parsimony posted yesterday. She has been ill. I can’t post to her blog but thought you all would like to know. Hilogene in Az.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
