Goals this week:
1. Kim will get taxes turned into the accountant and this is what she will look like doing said taxes.
2. Kim will get her seedlings planted in starter trays
3. Kim will get at least two wedding dresses started and fitted.
Sunday was such a nice quiet day. We had Kelsa until about 2 p.m. and she is such a joy. Then I took a nap and my Lil sis is home so I went to visit her for a couple of hours. She had a lovely time, so I am happy for her. She brought me back two bottles of vanilla, one dark and one clear. I am almost out of my clear bottle I purchased when we went to Cancun about 18 months ago.
It was rainy and over cast all day Sunday so I could not get in a long walk but I did get in a long exercise video. I did not have to cook as we just ate leftovers and that was nice. There is still enough to have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
I know that daughter will come down with Kelsa today and I hope it is nice enough to take a long walk before she has to teach dance. I also want Lil sis to color my hair it is long over due. Also have not done my nails for a month and then are trashed. Note to self, get seedlings planted before I do the nails.
I hope my week picks up with sewing. I have a few things to do but not much other than wedding dresses. However had my first Jr. Miss dress call so it looks like they are doing that pageant. But I am not holding my breath for the Proms in the area.
We are back to school here with social distancing and masks, but I am worried about the variants taking hold as restrictions are lifted. Idaho is a little more liberal, but as we border Washington and they are much stricter it makes it hard for our community to lighten up. In some ways I am grateful for that.
How are things in your neck of the woods as far as restrictions go? Do you feel things should be lightened or are you okay with an extended lock down? This has really hurt my business and Hub's hours at the High School and I hope we do not have to go through another spring and summer like the last one. I just can't beleive it has been a year. A YEAR!!!!!
Have a great and Productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.
Kim
Restrictions are lightening up a bit here - more people allowed in restaurants and bars and some activities are back on schedule. I think the only reason is because we are hosting the basket ball March Madness thing here - and the city wants people to have a good time. Not sure it is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteWe have never been told NOT to go out - just use masks and distance. I will continue to mask on outings.
My life hasn't changed a lot - as I am a loner any way.
Stay safe and healthy.
I just thought it so odd that I drove by one of our churchs in Idaho on Sunday and the parking lot was full and across the river we are only allowed to go once a month. Such different views on the lockdown. I am a little leery of things opening up right away.
DeleteIt feels longer than a year to me.
ReplyDeleteIt dos to me also, but I am afraid we are in for a while longer.
DeleteGood luck with your taxes. We still haven't done ours either, and I'm not looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a year! I feel so sorry for my college kid. This isn't the college experience he had hoped for, but they are making the best of it. Not sure if he will have a college graduation ceremony. The other major college in the area has gone to a virtual graduation, so I'm not sure what his college will do. He wasn't able to do an internship since so many places are closed or working remotely. He hasn't had a job offer yet either.
Our state is starting to lighten some restrictions. The governor has cancelled the curfew. Outdoor sports are starting again, but spectators are limited. Marching band and cheer aren't able to participate though. Masks and social distancing are required, but some people still don't abide by it.
I'm ok with the restrictions and hope that things will get better. The variants do worry me, esp since we are a college town, and I think they are already here.
Hope you have a good day.
It must be really hard to be in college with this mess. Who wants a virtual graduation? NOBODY I just feel bad for all of them.
DeleteHappy Monday morning. We have had school full-time all year with everyone wearing masks. I believe it is a personal choice here in our area. We are rural, so we don't have any congested areas of people. Our school bus runs by at 6:50 am every morning and has all year. We have only had one week that they closed due to covid and that was for a thorough cleaning. My 91 year old mom got her second shot last week and had NO side effects. She can't wear a mask as she has heart issues and she breathes so shallow anyway. Thehubs powerwashed both patios this weekend as the weatherman is predicting 60's temps all week. I have my onions, beets, radishes, and lettuce and spinach planted. Most of my community has a Quaker history, so there is nothing fancy around here. Our little town only has 300 people in it and next weekend we are having a chili feed benefit on our square to raise money for our city park, Have a good week my friend. Life is good here in the Ozarks, just 20 miles north of Joplin MO with Kansas in our back yard.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to visit the Ozarks. You are so lucky to live in an area where everything is somewhat normal.
DeleteThings have changed off and on. But the county (color code is yellow is good, orange is starting to kick up, red is things are heading bad and purple is shut down) we have 1 county yellow... it's AMISH mostly and they have business that did not shut down BUT they clean every day, wear their masks amongst Englishers etc. They are not a group that stands close together even in family. You don't see the hugs, hand shaking etc. Our local little store (which also did lunches) gets to open back up March 15th. MASKS required. Couple of the schools are back in and are having kids wear 2 masks or 3 ply masks. All the masks I have bought or made have been 3 ply.
ReplyDeleteThat is good it sounds like things are moving in the right direction where you live. But then the Amish are sensible people.
DeleteHubby mentioned just now that you should do what I do about taxes. I have separate spots for each group... medical goes in top drawer of file cabinet, business goes in top drawer of desk, Hubby also uses a program that keeps track of everything connected to the checking acct. House stuff goes in to a box. Tax time. I shove them each into different plastic grocery bags and into a box for our tax person. I used to work for H & R LOL
ReplyDeleteWell I total everything and then send those totals in.
DeleteWe're one of the most restrictive counties in the country, so no school yet. Our 14 year old goes back part time in April. The high school that my 15 year old goes to is so large that they are still struggling with how to open but keep the kids in pods per the guidelines. No updates as of yet. School ends the first week in June, so at most, they will have 5 weeks in (part time) in person. However, sports restrictions have been loosened, and both kids are very excited to see friends again & play soccer.
ReplyDeleteThat is great that they get to get back into sports. I bet they drove you nuts a time or two in strict lockdown....
DeleteTennessee never did have a mask mandate, and the virus was rampant here because of it. We have an appointment this afternoon to get our first vaccine, so I am thrilled.
ReplyDeleteI hope you meet all of your goals this week, Kim and I also hope you business picks up too.
Thanks Belinda, nothing today not even a phone call, but I did get a head start on the taxes.
DeleteOur mask ordinance will end in April. I will still wear my mask because of variants. The thought of a flu feeling illness does not excite me. I had the flu once, and it was absolutely awful. Plus, I just do not know if we know how long these vaccines will last. The good news is that I did not get very ill this year, and I think that is because of the mask I wore. Ironically, I was far healthier than normal. I usually get bronchitis, strep a couple of times, and a nasty cold. That did not happen, although my youngest son did get strep! I personally know six folks who have died of COVID, and at least 30 who have had bad side effects with COVID. I have been vaccinated so I am grateful for that. We are wide open with both in person Court and Zoom Court (for minor things.) So, I have to be at the office very day anyway. I am pretty exhausted, and I am debating retirement next year. I would like to wait four years, because I would certainly be far more comfortable financially, we will see. I just don't know if I can make it four more years but I really want to wait four more years until I retire. I never thought I would wish I were older, but yet, here we are...... Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteWell with all of us masked and socially distanced we had no flu hospitalizations in our county. which has never happened before. Daughter said they had 25 weekend arrests this morning to take care of. She said the court was a madhouse. I bet you are tired my friend.
DeleteStill have some restrictions in place. Mask wearing in public buildings and social distancing. At times I wish we were a bit stricter.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I feel the same way. I wish people wee a little more considerate and the community was stricter.
DeleteHusband & I both just received our second shot of the Pfizer vaccine. Thrilled. BUT.....we will still mask & distance out in public - there are still too many who are at risk who have not been vaccinated, & they don't know yet whether people who are vaccinated can still be transmitters of the virus. So for the good of all, we will stay away from people we don't know who may be at risk. I personally feel that people are acting like this is over. IT.IS.NOT. So because of this, I expect to see numbers go up again in the states where they are opening everything & lifting the mask mandate. It's not going to be pretty & it won't end well for them. The poor health care workers will AGAIN have to pick up the pieces.
ReplyDeleteGood for you. Hubs has had both his shots, I get my second on the 18th. You are so right it is not over. Not until we see what these variants can do and not until a good 80% are vaccinated and we are a long way from that.
