Tuesday, Sissie is here

Yes, this is as close as I can get to the inside of Kim's mind.  It is fairly accurate.

Sissie is with me today which always makes the day better. I don't know why, it just does.

My youngest child is finally a grownup (she is 31) and is buying a car. She has been limping around on the car we helped her buy her freshman year in college. I still have the title, and I just pulled it from the strongbox. I have to meet her at the car lot to sign it over.

That means she has driven that car for 12 years.  It was used so I think she got the goody out of it.

I have a wedding dress to get done today almost all hand work, and also a Navy dress blouse on which to put patches.

Last night I cut out three Christmas aprons, Sissie and I are making aprons from a pattern we copied from a criss cross back apron we purchased at and import market years ago. Now we make them reversable, and they are so nice.  You can never have enough aprons. I have so much quilting fabric, so I have no excuse not to be doing this, and who doesn't love an apron. Okay I am a little weird.

Once I get my shop work done for the day, I will work on aprons at my leisure. I need to start thinking about Christmas.  The plan is to all meet at Jethelyn's. I have a couple of fall birthdays; I will also need to buy gifts for those. I just want to plan ahead so I am not overwhelmed and then spend foolishly. A bad habit.

I am getting several piles in the shop, so after I finish this wedding dress, I will need to do a pile day.  That will be hopefully tomorrow.

We had a really good soaker rain last night and the sprinklers were blown out this morning so no more water system.  I will have to hand water whatever I want to live in the garden. I will keep the winter carrots alive, and the gourd vines and the rest can be cleaned out. I am hoping to get this all done this week, while the men put up the green house.

Well, I am off to contend with a very large ball gown wedding dress. Wish me luck!

Have a great and productive day

God is good

Kim

  2. Woo hoo, you are caught up enough to start making Christmas aprons. Love that ya'll are making them reversible. It's like 2 aprons in one! I have a pattern for one and thought I might try my hand at making them for my DIL's. Wonder if they will enjoy wonky aprons.

  3. Correct, one can never have too many aprons and one of these days I will try to make a criss cross back apron. Right now I have 4 butcher like aprons.

    God bless.

    1. I love not having to tie them and then, having them come untied when I have my hands full of bread dough!

  4. Aprons will make such nice gifts! It seems like just yesterday you were putting the garden in and now it’s time to pull some of it out. This summer went by so fast.

  6. I would like to learn how to make aprons. They are fun to look at and I'm thinking fun to make too. Very nice that she got a good long life with the car. That's the best. Cheers and Happy Sewing, Ivy.
