Tuesday, I am going to like this...

Quit blaming others, ruin your day yourself.  I am very good at this, but not this month.  This month is Joy You know I am going to let you in on a little secret.... If you look for joy, you will find it, no matter how bad the circumstances are...my life is proof of this, and I never want to be in a place again where I don't believe this is possible. The problem is you have to work at it every day.

Sissie although she gets frustrated easily is really helping me in the shop. The horrible tension is gone. People are picking up the things she has been able to do. It frees me up (to be a little lazier and I am loving that for sure)

Last night Signe' came and spent the night and we went to the gym late.  No gentlemen at all, I am sure they were home watching Gunsmoke reruns. Too bad they missed me and I was stunning in my new tennis shoes.

This morning Lil Sis came over and cut about 6 inches off my Chubaka hair, and it is so nice and light. Trying to get rid of the dye that is on the ends.  I still have a lot, but it looks good.  She is also cutting Sissie's hair into a bob, which is my favorite way for her to where it. Lil Sis was a hairdresser in a former life.  We are happy with her skills.

I made pancakes for Sissie and I this morning as I have been living on yogurt.  Need to eat more protein. I will work on that. Just pulled a bag of boned out turkey from the freezer will make turkey salad for dinner. I love to put toasted slivered almonds, a little onion and celery into my salad.  Sometimes I put grapes or dried cranberries. So good! You can eat it as a salad with lettuce of in a sandwich.

I am enjoying the gym although it still is lonely, and I like going with someone more than alone.  But I will persevere. I need to improve my upper body strength.  My legs can do almost anything.  All those years of dancing and running, I still have strong legs.

My joy for today is that my dog is much better.  He had rolled in something dead and was covered in goop.  This was up at Signe's. He obviously licked himself and got some kind of bacteria and was very sick for a few days. He wasn't running a fever and still had energy and wanted to eat but was having accidents by the door in the middle of the night.  He was so ashamed. I called the vet, and I had meds on hand for nausea and the vet said to give him those as long as he was eating and drinking and wait it out, unless things turned worse.  He said it has to get through the system.  So, I did and I actually left him outside for two nights, to keep from the clean-up. He enjoys being outside, but I like him in at night.  Anyway, he is back to normal and no $700 vet bill.  I did have to bathe him twice last week which is no easy task, and he looks all lumpy, as I did not blow out his coat like the groomer.  So, I will get him in soon, the groomer is a lot less expensive than the vet.

Joys abound my friends.  What are yours?

God is good

Kim

  1. I am pleased to read the dog is much better Kim ... & saving yourself the huge Vet bill sure does help. Yes there is Joy in every single day but we most certainly do have to look for it - some days are harder to find it than others. You are doing well Kim - you still make me laugh. xx

  2. Woops - forgot to say my Joy was taking eldest Grandson to mini putt golf yesterday - in the rain showers sometimes ... we had lots of laughs. He won but I am sure there was cheating going on. xx

  3. My joy was getting home from work, ripping my bra off, and letting the girls air out.

  4. Yes indeed, there is joy every day if you just look and pay attention. Today the sun is shining, it got to 20*, and I went out and started my car for the first time in days, and it started. YAY

    1. Now that is an accomplishment when the car starts after a freeze.

  5. Our big dog seems to think bunny turds are treats and we know when he's tried one! Yuck! I made chicken salad too. I like varieties as you've mentioned, but once I was out of everything and tried it out with an apple. Dang is that good, so now I often put a few slices of apples with the salad in a a wrap or chunks in the salad itself.

  6. You know I am a big fan of finding joy in the ordinary. I'm finding joy in a warm home, because boy, is it cold here. The weatherman is saying the windchill could be -25 in the morning. Brrr

I'm glad your doggie is better, and yay for no vet bill!

  7. So glad that the dog is doing better. Joy is easy to find if one looks for it. Today my joy was I got through my mammogram with very little pain and lots of ideas re the breast sweat I seem to now be getting.
Hope your days continue to be joyful and things get completed.

    God bless.

  8. I believe what we focus on is what we find. I choose to focus on the good and I'm glad that is helping you too.
So sorry the dog was sick but I'm glad he seems to be on the mend and didn't have to visit the vet.
The sun was shining yesterday and that was a joy to see.

  9. Glad your dog is feeling better! Chicken salad sounds really delicious. I don't know that I've ever made it, but I love it on a salad or sandwich. I'm serving freezer meals all week, because that's what we have & I have time for. Trying to put my life back together! - Hawaii Planner

  10. I love your sister trio! Love tripled :) That turkey salad sounds amazing, I always want to get turkey breast but I am not a great cook and I worry it would just come out dry. Glad you're still going to the gym, but I understand - I prefer to work out with my friends too. I hope you do make some new buddies in time!

  11. How coincidental, but I have been loving making and eating chicken salad made wih pecans and cranberries. Yout poor doggie; my old fat boy chihuahua is coughing and lethargic. He started sneezing yesterday, so we are seeing the vet. It sucks when they are sick.
