Wednedsay, Get to work!

For some reason this is how I feel today. Like my forehead is full and I want to go back to bed. I have an 11:00 bride, and a 12:00 bride so going back to bed is not an option. Plus, Sissie would just drag me back out.

I did finish a wedding dress yesterday and got a good start on another. I spent three hours yesterday pulling horsehair braid off of one dress that had 2 layers.  Yes two, as if one wasn't enough to make me crazy.

SO today I will replace the braid and get that dress done and then start on another.  If things go as planned that will be the three dresses for the week, but as more come in it doesn't feel like I am making progress.

My 11:00 bride did not like the price I quoted for the alteration and is going to try and find a different dress.  Fine with me, one less thing to do.

I have a big pile of tax stuff laying on the counter in the kitchen.  It says rude things under its breath to goad me into looking at it.  So far that I have been winning.  Not good for the goal I set, but... there is always a but, right?

It is beautiful and sunny here and I want to go outside and run around. Nothing is preventing me, except this wedding dress laying here all torn apart.  I do believe the wedding dress will win. Dang!

I have decided to go to my eldest daughter's house for Easter.  I will probably leave a week early and stay for a week.  I might be going on a trip with Joel's sister, after Easter and I would have to fly out of Boise, might as well be down there. This would put me out of the shop for a good two weeks in April, so I really need to get everything well organized and all dresses out that would be close to these dates. So, anything due out before June.  Who knows how many dresses will be in here by then, one can only guess. Isn't my life exciting? Please don't answer that question.

I am determined to make it to the gym tonight.  I slept great last night no excuses.

Anything fun happening around your places? What do you have to get done today?

God is good

Kim

  1. So glad you did not lower your price for the dress. I am not sure why people think you should not get paid for the actual time and skill you put into altering their clothes.
I love that you are going on another trip!

  3. Do not lower your price. I am pretty sure that finding another dress will add to her costs immensely. All the work necessary for alterations is costly.

    God bless.

    1. Well, she did call with another dress but the price for alterations was the same.

  5. Good for you holding at your price-your talent cannot be found easily. Just a reminder you will be gone for Easter so no need to decorate or go crazy on it ;)

    1. I know I have not even put out St Patrick's. But Kelsa loves to do it, so I don't mind!

  6. I'm with the other posters - good for you for not lowering your prices. Sometimes people don't understand the time it takes to complete a task until you tell them. Other times, they are just unwilling to pay said price. Either way, it falls into the bucket of "not Kim's problem", and they can brainstorm another way to solve it, or change their mind about the price.

I'm trying out a new workout class today at the Y today (fingers crossed) as I didn't workout like I'd wanted yesterday. The work commute really interferes with life and schedule. Tonight I'm meeting a couple of girlfriends for a casual get together with wine & dinner. And chat, of course. Looking forward to it. - Hawaii Planner

    1. Hope you have a great time tonight. When it gets lighter at night, I can walk the neighborhood as it is very hilly, but right now it is the mall or the gym.
