Monday, life is getting busy

I know I am a busy person but with this new baby coming, life is getting busier.

I spent Friday and most of Saturday up at Braunwyn's.  We or I cleaned carpets and got the front room ready for a furniture delivery. The furniture will be delivered tomorrow so I will be going up tonight and spend the day there tomorrow.

We are trying to make space for the new baby and are turning a large walking closet into small dressing nursery. She will be sleeping in their room for at least a couple of years. Right now, this closet is toy catch all for Oliver. So, downsizing his hoard is a must and a very difficult job for a 5 year old.

Today I have some major sewing to do, and I also have an eye specialist appointment this afternoon. I have my pile ready.

1. fix white dress

2. put zipper in jeans

3. mend pants and replace zipper

4. shorten sleeves on a dress jacket

5.alter a mother of the bride dress

Hopefully, I can get all this done today as I have a whopper of a wedding dress (the last one for June) that I need to get started. But that is for tomorrow. Then I pull out the July dresses, and I think there are at least 4 of them.  But June will be over and that is the busiest month of the year.

On the Ollie front, we went out to pizza this weekend and I also made a 4 layer coconut cake for dessert.  He loved it.  The more I am with him the more we have in common. A lot of laughs usually due to something I have done or said. We agreed to keep seeing each other, so who knows.  I am just happy having someone to do things with.

I am so behind on yard work, mostly because I am afraid of snakes, and I have not even planted my garden. Hopefully I will get it in this weekend. We have such a long growing season here I am not worried about getting produce.

I just have to be brave and get out there.

What is happening at your places?

God is good

Kim

  2. Your children are very fortunate to have you as a mother gi ing so generously of your time. Im sure it'll be a sweet little space. Are they already maximize i g under bed space for Oliver's things? Those rolling low totes really help my daughter and her limited space.

  4. Considering the number of rattlers you have found in your yard,I would be afraid of going out there also!! I am generally not afraid of snakes but they have to be non venomous, and yours are venomous!!! Yikes!!!!!!! Nope Rope!!!! Cindy in the South

    1. It has been cold here so they are hiding, waiting for hot weather to come out and bug me.

  5. I think I would be scared to go out in your yard as well and I am not afraid of most snakes. Now wasps are another story all together. Glad you have found someone to share some time with.

    God bless.

  7. My niece used a large walk=in for a baby room as well - she used it on the last, as the other kiddos had their own rooms. It worked well for a couple years.
Glad you are having a good time and feel happy.
I wouldn't plant a garden if I lived there - big no on your area for me. I HATE snakes, especially ones that could kill me!

  8. Hello! I am so happy to hear you have someone to do things with. So exciting about a new baby! I miss babies. And Flynn was in our room until she was five. Couldn't let the last one go!

    1. Well, I nursed the second until she was almost 4 as she was allergic to everything.

  9. All our kids were in our room for a while, some until at least 4. Our youngest chose to sleep on a toddler mattress in our room until he was well in to his elementary school years. We asked him years later why, and he said he didn’t really know other than he liked to watch “Better Call Saul” with me on the tv on our dresser. ::shrug:: With littles, I always felt how they were sleeping was more important than where. One reason we made such a big deal of graduating to a “big bed” (arranging a day to go alone with us shopping for a full size mattress and bed frame in their own room then lunch after) is to encourage them to get into their own rooms. That baby will be just fine there. You’re right, having to cull toys is a tough chore for a little fellow.

I like to think of myself as a strong, capable young widow, but I swear if I had rattlesnakes, well, I think I would willingly play the damsel in distress. I have a hard enough time running into the garter snakes here.

    1. I did play damsel on the first couple and then realized I couldn't be doing that 3 times a day.

  10. I hope Oliver can do alright clearing out his toys! I am glad you're enjoying time with Ollie, it's nice for you to have company! I too, would not be gardening with snakes, I am not a garden gal!

  11. I am happy for you and your Ollie! I'm going on day-date #3 this weekend. The first two have been all day dates, because we live a couple of hours apart. He's a widower and understands the emotions that come with dating as a widow. I'm very blessed so far by everything about him.
