Kim needs to step away from the spray paint as she is having way too much fun! Step away, STEP AWAY!!!!
Thate Sissie went a bought another ironing board, when I had planned to go look for one second hand, she had to have a certain kind. Can you believe that? Picky about ironing boards. But then again, she does most of the ironing. I can walk by that basket and ignore it for months. Or until I am out of pillowcases.
So, it is May 1st, oops, just remember my mother in laws 97 birthday, stop order flowers... okay done. ADHD brain at full tilt. Tried to order chocolates from a place that was opened by her great Aunt in Weiser Idaho. but they are closed for remodel. So, I guess the chocolates come on Mother's Day.
I am now in official garden planting mode, though have no real plants for garden except seedlings I started, which I think have contracted a fungus. Just my luck. I will go do plant search later this afternoon. I need to stick around home for clients. Plus, Sissie has my car. Now that will keep you home.
Just a few things have to be sewn today, I could get some of my spring cleaning done, but where is the fun in that I ask you? It is a beautiful day full of sunshine and good spring smells, and one needs to be outside with a can of spray paint. Put the paint down now Kim! Kim, "But I am having so much fun!"
I cannot be controlled, kind of like someone running our country. Okay enough politics. A lady never discusses politics or religion. I am a lady, with a can of spray paint.
So now how did we do with April goals, you are dying to ask?
1 Put 900 toward the 1000 challenge, it was a tough month to save money, but 900 nothing to sneeze at!
2. saved money in my penny challenge
3. try and complete as much of the garden area as possible, It is ready to plant so that is a win.
4. pick up taxes and pay accountant and the taxes. done
5. No spend days a Fail! only 7
6. eating out I only paid for one eat out so that is good!
7. New to me lawn mower and tiller
8. put extra money on house taxes.... What extra money????
Overall, not a bad month. Just so many expenses with the yard
I will do new goals for May tomorrow, right now I am going outside, where is that spray paint again?
Have a great and productive day
God is good
Kim
I do not own an ironing board nor an iron… lol. Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteI should add my work skirt suits are the no wrinkle kind, are all black or gray and I hand wash and hang up and dry, preferably in the shower. I do have some that still require dry cleaning. My tops/blouses ( all black) for work are also hand washed and stretched out. We are also required to wear closed toe shoes of course in court. So it is basically a suit uniform with the standard pearls or tiny earrings. I don’t care about my personal clothes and snatch them out of the dryer or hand wash some of those also. My church dresses are cheap and the throw in kind with a jacket over them. I also hand wash my blue jeans. So I mostly wash sheets, underwear, and towels in the washing machine. I find hand washing makes clothes last a lot longer bc my underwear is forever getting shredded, it seems, in a dryer. Cindy in the South
DeleteYou dress like my daughter, she is a Talbots fan. Question? DO you have a hard time getting callings? It seems here at least for the last 38 years; you have to be a dentist to have a male leadership calling or a shi! ton of money. Only the wealthy doctor and dentist wives get leadership callings. They all just trade periodically. Is it that was where you live? I didn't know this was a church for only the wealthy. This has bothered me for a long time.
DeleteNo. We have 30 people tops to attend on Sundays and usually about 22. They overwhelm us with callings and with my work schedule I honestly don’t have time. I get shamed and talked about bc I will say no bc I simply cannot do it all. Plus I am single,
Deletedivorced, and most women are our age group. I do NOT want their husbands but they seem to be cold with me. Plus the church is 35 miles one way from where I live. We are a small branch but I think it is so different out West. Well, except the cliquish behavior. The branch Prewident’s wife will barely speak to me. She does not like me because she cannot control me. I don’t care… lol. She is overwhelmed with callings though. Cindy in the South
We are also in an extreme poverty stricken area, one of the poorest areas of our state, or the nation for that matter. Many of the 22 regulars have to live off
Deleteof SSI or SSD or social security and barely make it. Cindy in the South
That would make a huge difference. Here it is all money and mansions. But you have the right to say no. I said no to a calling that I knew was not right for me after Joel died. Now I will never get a calling again because I dared to speak up. I [play for choir because no one else will and there are alot more people that play better than I. I just get tired of the snobbery; it is so bad. Our daughter that is a lawyer in Twin Falls, moved into a MCmansion because her husband wanted the huge shop that was on the property. The house had been on the market for 2 years and needs a lot of updating. Now daughter was raised at or slightly above the poverty line, this house is over 8000 sq ft, with 8 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. I get lost when I go there. She will not tell people her address because she thinks the place is pretentious. But she did say that when she moved into this new ward, she was suddenly Miss popular. People hung on her every word, and she is not used to that kind of attention. She has never been included in the reindeer games, and she finds it disheartening now that she has made it so to speak... All I can tell her is the Church is true, the people not so much.
DeleteHer house sounds magnificent!!!! Yes, I think it is totally different out West. Twin Falls is such a nice town with lots of amenities which we do not have here. I think it is a good place to raise kids from what I hear from my daughter. SIL sometimes does part time work occasionally in Idaho. The richest folks in our branch are middle of the middle class, for here, and have about a 2500 sq ft house maybe 3,000, I am not good with square footage, but with several acres of land surrounding it. There are about four couple who live in decent housing in the branch and the rest of the members struggle and are subsidized a lot with food by local middle class church members. I will say the four couples are generous with their time and with their help. They are also retired except for one couple. Cindy in the South
DeleteI actually try to iron as little as is humanly possible... Bad Jackie.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Me too that is why I have Sissie!
DeleteI don't iron, but I do have a steamer I bring out occasionally. I should invest in another ironing board and iron. I do love crisp sheets! I had a fight with my ironing board, too, years ago and that was all she wrote! Haha!
ReplyDeleteThey are the most obstinate creatures.
DeleteI am picky about my ironing board but have no idea why, since I iron only on demand, and most of my clothes are not very demanding.
ReplyDeleteAhh but are hubs clothes demanding?
DeleteI cannot work in yard and then sew. I get too dirty. Wrinkled is chic. Have you not heard?
ReplyDeleteWell, I am changing and washing up a lot!
DeleteMy ironing board has been in the shed for years - that should tell you something. I have a nice iron for those 'have to' do jobs - but rarely iron. That is what the drier is for!
ReplyDeleteAla my mother's ghost resides with my iron, so I must.;
DeleteI also don't own an ironing board! I typed out a whole thing about why politics are hard not to discuss, even in polite society, but deleted it. Trying to practice what I preach, and keep things on topic. - Hawaii Planner
ReplyDeleteJoels family is Ultra conservative right wing Morman which is okay. They only talk politics and religion. So, as you can see, I was a very black sheep. Fear is so much easier to promote than hope, and twice as dangerous. My last quote to my mother-in-law, I am sure she did not understand what I said.
DeleteAHHHHHH!! No Kim, no! Put down the spray paint!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteI can't it is painted to my hand!
