Trying very hard not to sit with my own thoughts, they are just not cooperating. Even my dark humor is not working well.
How is it I had one June dress left a couple of weeks ago and I now have 5? Who is taking these dresses in? It can't be me, can it? I am telling you no more until after I get back from my supposed third trip this spring.
I plan on going to NC to spend a week in Charlston and do some touring. I am going with my daughter. I am planning to go the last week of May. I am not holding my breath.
Anyway, found my second rattlesnake while weeding my 100-foot perennial bed. It was a baby, but still the small ones are just as dangerous. I realized I needed a hoe and then when I got back, I could not find the little bugger. It took a while but finally located it around a Shasta daisy. Kilt it. So now I am not going out to weed or feed chickens or spray without a hoe within reach.
I am having trouble sleeping, and even though I go to sleep late I am waking early. It is weird. However, I can fall asleep during the day no problem. Then the phone rings or the doorbell rings, so no use trying to sleep during the day. Plus, it is so beautiful out one just wants to enjoy the weather.
My eldest sent me chocolates for Mother's Day, and I have already eaten 4 of them this morning. Yum!
I have lots to do today and I am determined to get things out that I have been stalling on all week. I am a terrible procrastinator and when you add stress and the fact that I can't take ADHD meds anymore things can get really, really behind here. I just don't want to get behind. Who am I kidding, I think I am always behind.
Okay Kim is off, (to get some work done) ( I know what you are thinking all of you...)
God is good
Kim
Kim, when I lived in your town for 8.5 years, we only had two rattlesnakes (we lived at the bottom of Valley Vista Heights at the top of 8th Street. You are 100% correct about the little ones. We had a little one stuck in a below-grade door entrance and we did not use that door until it starved to death. The big one (about 4 ft. long) wrapped himself around the back tire of our minivan and RATTLED. My son drove back and forth until he squished it dead. I probably would not do any yard work in your situation! BTW, my daughter was in Kelly Cash's special ed class at LHS.
ReplyDeleteI am familiar with that area. The snakes are awful this year.
DeleteAnd I'm afraid of garter snakes! Have you ever had one in your house??
ReplyDeleteNo but in the garage.
DeleteI don't do snakes!! Not at all! When I lived in North Carolina a small garter snake ran out of the landscaping along the fence line. I never touched that area again. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteOkay so I am not to expect a visit from you any time soon?
DeleteDang about the snakes! I don't mind the safe ones but a rattler (your part of the world) or a copperhead (my part): NO THANKS! On a non-snake topic, thinking of you, dear Kim. Things have been jumbled up here lately, from little things to other sizes, and I too am trying NOT to sit with my thoughts too much! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYou know health problems are just stinky. Both you and I have had them long term and they seem to add to themselves. I keep thinking of the black box warning on a med I have taken for 10 years. It can cause cancer and here I am waiting to find out. Can't figure out if I want to lick myself or not.
DeleteNOPE on snakes - big NOPE! I would be burning or moving.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me the thought has crossed my mind.
DeleteNo poisonous snakes here, and I really don't mind them. Guess that happens when you have two boys that always seemed to bring garter snakes home.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I just hate always being on high alert.
DeleteSnakes themselves do not scare me, though I am not a fan of copperheads (our venomous critter) Singing High Hoe!
ReplyDeleteI would just prefer they went to Sissie's.
DeleteI spent a week staying up all night and sleeping all day. I finally got out of that! It happens sometimes and I hate it.
ReplyDeleteStill, I talk to Tommy. He won't answer...lol.
Snakes don't scare me at all, but I don't tempt them. PP
I still talk to Joel so keep talking.
DeleteUgh on the snakes. You are braver than me.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you are having trouble sleeping. Praying for good news from your biopsy.
Oh Charleston sounds like a lovely trip; it is beautiful there, lots of things to do. My husband and son spent the night with the boy scouts on the USS Yorktown, and I think my son decided the navy wasn't for him. ;)
I am not braver but needs must.
