Here is a picture of Signe' and Kelsa backstage during Mid-Summer Nights Dream. This was taken last spring, but I just received it. They had to stay very quiet backstage. I think Signe' played peas blossom and Kelsa was a baby fairy. She would get more tired as the show went on and always ended up asleep in her mom's arms at curtain call. But she loved being on stage.
What had I been doing? I really don't know. I have been sewing and it seems that I have clients at the time I usually blog, so I get behind with my day and then I don't sit down and so the thing.
Also, Signe' was so sick last week with food poisoning. She was with me for almost 4 days. She ended up in the care center on I.V.'s It caused a bacterium in her gut, so ended up on antibiotics. That just took a lot out of me. Let's not talk about came out of her....
Then I went to Braunwyn's to set up her closet nursery. I was there for two days. It went together pretty easy; it was organizing the clothes that took time.
Here is a picture as you look into the closet. The little swing will be out in the front room when the baby uses it.
Here is the changing table I purchased off of Facebook marketplace. Braunwyn loved it. We destroyed the house getting this done and I think I spent more time cleaning up the mess we made than actually working on the nursery. It was fun! We have a month to go now and this grandma is excited!
How is sewing going you ask? Blah! I am getting really tired of sewing and that is not a mature attitude when you run a shop as busy as mine. But I will persevere, because that is what I do.
Went out to a nice dinner with Gaylord on Tuesday night and met his brother and sister-in-law. They are lovely people. I think they are a little shocked that he has some kind of relationship as he has been single for 13 years. We are going to get together this weekend for dinner here. I will get to pull something out of my overstuffed freezer.
I would like to get a wedding dress done today and start on another. Still have August dresses to do but I think I am down to 1 or 2. Then onto the September. I have to get those done before the baby comes. THAT SHOULD HELP WITH MY MOTIVATION WHICH HAS BEEN IN THE TOILET!!!!!!
So, what has been going on in blog land? Anything good or bad. Do I want to hear the bad? Of course I do. We must all cry together.
The machines are calling...
God is good
Kim
Absolutely precious! Shouldn't all babies birn be so loved! I'm so sorry for your daughter, and your caregiving heroics. Isn't she already a tiny thing like you? It had to have taken a toll being so sick.
ReplyDeleteWhen I took her into the clinic they would not even weigh her. But she is feeling much better.
DeleteSo so cute! Perfect for a baby girl! ! Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait! I am sure Braunwyn is feeling the same.
DeleteThe little girl closet room is so cute.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you have lost motivation because you are spread so thin!!!!
No. Cheryl It is because I am taking up the slack! I am too busy too! The shop just gets busier and busier? Kim likes to work under pressure, I do not and had to learn that the hard way.... hmmm? Maybe that will be the subject of my next blog post! Not Bossy Sissy
Delete"Maybe you have lost motivation because you are spread so thin" is the equivalent of your statement "I am too busy..."
DeleteI think it is because I know that I can't and won't do this forever.
DeleteAww what a sweet little fairy! Hope Signe is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThe nursery is lovely, and you did a great job on the changing table. So exciting to welcome a baby girl soon.
Glad that you have found companionship with Gaylord and his family approves. Do your girls like him too?
I hope you have a nice weekend.
Yes, my girls like him.
DeleteThat closet nursery is just adorable Kim - well done !!! That is a sweet photo of Signe & Kelsa. I have had a very unwell cat & it has occupied all my time - hopefully he has turned a corner now but not sure. xx
ReplyDeleteOh Julie, not Bossy here, I hope your Kitty is feeling better, I too have my Kitties and they're my world!
DeleteHas anyone heard how Linda is doing from Practical Parsimony. Love the closet nursery it is adorable.
ReplyDeleteNo and I do worry about her.
DeleteYou think your peeps were shocked about Gaylord? My guy had been a widower for 11 years when we reconnected a year ago next week. I had been married for 56+ years and widowed for only 9 months when we started daily phone calls. Everyone that knows us is shocked! Best of luck, dear.
ReplyDeleteWell, we all meet who we meet when we meet and I think it is great that you have someone.
DeleteI actually met him in 8th grade math class and we dated our whole freshman year in college. Broke up, dated other people, got married, had families, buried spouses (his first marriage ended in divorce)...but never forgot each other. We got back together 60 years later.
DeleteI am sure you will get a kick out of this. Early on, I told him I didn't like being called a widow. I asked him what people called widowers. "Single!" Surprisingly, he never went out after his wife died.
What an adorable baby fairy!
ReplyDeleteThe nursery looks great. Lucy will be very happy there!
When you find how to get motivated send me the secret. I feel like I am ping ponging and getting nothing accomplished.
I think we should have t-shirts that say we are part of the ping pong club...
DeleteLove the "closet nursery"! If you truly are sick of sewing (and still want to keep busy) I think you've got a career as a designer!
ReplyDeleteI really think I just like doing nothing.
