I really can't complain too much as I think the year before we moved mom in here I made 17 trips to Missoula which were 8 hour round trips. Mom lived here for three years and she despised Hubs. He was always so patient with her.I do love my in laws but I have so much I need to get done in the next three weeks and they will add work and stress. I need to quit complaining and suck it up. Hubs dad is pretty far gone with dementia but his mom is sharp as a tack and is so excited to come. I need to get excited. I will work on that.
I am kind of happy today to just spend time sewing and trying to get caught up, not that it will happen, but just that I am trying. I just got a call that they are coming to pick up the dryer. Yippee! One less thing to worry about. I will continue to dry things on the line for now, and go to Lil sis's. So far it has worked fine.
So for today:
1.
2.
3.
4.
6. shorten a pair of pants
7.
8. shorten coat sleeves on a mans dress jacket
9. shorten a woman's vest
10. line sleeves on a womans dress
11
12.
13. 6 pairs of pants, shorten or let out waist
14. clean up laundry room
15.
16. go to storage unit
17.
18.
So let's see what I can get done today.
Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.
Kim
I still don't know what I got when I moved because I did not open boxes that was stashed from two of the kids or Hubby.OR now the boxes Hubby packed that was Daddy's or stepbrother packed of Mother's and Pop's. Your mother in law might like to help out some with preparing the meal.
ReplyDeleteI know people who have moved more than once and lived in homes for years that have not unpacked boxes from the first move. Throw it away! I will have mom help she is going on 92 and is a terrible cook but if I watch her.....
DeleteENJOY your visit with the IL's. You never know how many there will be, and at least your MIL is excited about coming.
ReplyDeleteThat sure looks like a long to-do list for one day. Good luck.
She is and we will have fun.
DeleteThat's a big list. I'd say getting at least half done would be an accomplishment. I understand about the car trips. It's 9 hours one-way to visit my son at college. Funny how sitting and doing nothing for 9 hours is so exhausting.
ReplyDeleteI know those long drives are the worst. We have to drive forever to get any where around here. But only takes 3 minutes to get to work. It is a trade off.
DeleteI'm sure you'll pull off a great Thanksgiving and give your in-laws a lovely memory
ReplyDeletewe will have a good time, and it is important to got get them and give mom a break for a week or so.
DeleteI agree - you just suck it up because you love Hubs & he was good with your mom living with you for all those years. You'll never regret the time spent with loved ones while they are alive. Just try to not stress & enjoy the time with them. How blessed Hubs is to still have his parents at his age! (My hubs had his until he was 65!). #Priorities
ReplyDeleteI know they are both 91 and mom will be 92 in a few months. We will have a good time with them.
DeleteI think you will enjoy the visit once you calm down...lol. That is a long drive and lots of hours. Maybe the drive will not seem so formidable in the coming days.
ReplyDeleteI will enjoy myself, my mother in law is a sweet woman.
DeleteHi. Have a good day.
ReplyDeletethanks Rue right back at you.
DeleteIt sounds like you are getting back in your groove. As others have said before, I bet you will enjoy your inlaws visit once they get there. Maybe your MIL can help pack??
ReplyDeleteShe will do what ever I need her to, she is great although getting weaker with age. She is a lovely woman.
