Friday,We are getting swept up

Funny how a little tiny thing like a virus cell can have the whole world in a panic.  I am not dissing that panic, but I think some sanity could be practiced by a few.  Am I tired of hearing about it?  Yes. Am I afraid it is going to come here? Yes.  So far Idaho is one of the last hold outs, but it will get here no doubt.

In the mean time life will go on as usual.  Well not as usual, as our church services have been cancelled.  I have already had 4 clients in this morning and have plenty of work to do so I am not worried as far as that goes.

I ran a fever of 1.01 most of the evening yesterday and my arm where I received the shot is very, very sore.  As it is inflamed of course the other shoulder copied it and both shoulders are almost unusable right now.  I am achy, head achy, grouchy and just not feeling my best.  Although today is better than yesterday I think.

I am not going to push myself today as I just don't feel up to it. Probably will rest and sleep a little.  I am still supporting there new shingles vaccine, but it is not for the faint of heart.

I had Hubs drive me to take a meal into someone last night that had oral surgery and I could not find the apartment. Then I was in tears.  As I am not a crier, I knew something was up and then discovered I had a fever when I got home. Constantly chilled I am, right now.

Well hope to have better things to report tomorrow. I think we all need to stay positive and help each other get through this mess.  It will get worse before it gets better.

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

  1. I do hope tomorrow is so much better for you.
I am not panicking, but I also have respect for the possibility of a large number of folks getting the virus. I also will admit to having an overage of toilet paper, but I always have several packs on hand, so this is not panic hoarding, but is my normal way of life. Right now I am glad I keep an excess!

    1. Well I still ran a fever but not as many chills. We have plenty of toilet paper also. Not worried as it is made here.

  2. AGREE - a little sanity needs to be used. People are just acting crazy and it is so sad and ridiculous.
Take care and keep moving forward - that is what we all need to do.

    1. I know we all need to be grateful for what we have and our ability to still get help if we need it.

  3. I actually found the second dose of the shingles vaccine to be easier than the first. Hang in there.

  4. I think tp is important, but how many rolls can a person/family use? I did go buy two 48 packs two weeks ago, but I was about out AND they were on sale with a coupon. So, I would do it no matter what. I think when we are told by our leader there is nothing to worry about, we try to figure out what to do on our own. We cannot test ourselves. We cannot get a test. But, we can stock up on whatever comes to mind. I bought four quarts of shelf-stable milk at Dollar Tree. It is $1 there. Then, when I found Lysol wipes in the cannister, I used BOGO to get two last week. Otherwise, I have plenty of food in pantry and in freezer. I might run out of fresh fruit and vegetables, but we will have to see. I feel sorry for people who have only enough food for a week, so I can see panic buying of anything.

I do not remember the shingles virus, but I have had vaccines that really hurt later and made me run a fever. Go ahead and cry. Getting lost or unable to find a place can do that for me.

  5. The shingles vaccine was miserable to me too. I thought the second dose was better, but still not good. Take care! Cheryl in Washington state

  7. Kim, You go right ahead and cry. And nap. Listen to your body. (That's what my mom always says!)
Have a cozy weekend. We may venture out to mass.

  8. I hope you feel better soon and can take some time out to have a well-deserved rest. I think people in general are just more stressed out at the moment and panic buying - its crazy stuff! There is no toilet paper, tissues, baby wipes, paper towels available here and people are shopping in masks and gloves.

  10. Our lives have changed drastically. Both of us WFH for the next month, kids out of school for a month. Who knows what we're supposed to do. It took my husband two hours to get into Costco this morning. We were buying regular groceries. Went to the local pricey store & Trader Joes. No bread, milk, pasta, rice, Top Ramen (?), frozen fruit, veggies, etc. Once people see cleared shelves, it's scary & pushes them to want to stock up themselves, so they can feed their families.

It's overwhelming right now where we are. We are trying to stay calm, but it's scary to have so much fear & uncertainty.

As for you, rest up, have a cry, and don't push yourself too hard. Nothing good will come of that.

    1. You know it you know any members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, most of them store food. Also the church has major systems to get food to people during crisis. So make friend with a Mormon. I just supplied one of my sewing customers with toilet paper and another with eggs. Sorry for all th fear this is causing but it will die down.
