Tuesday, trying to finish up
Okay bloger is flaking on me again. I keeps changing the way the blog is set up and I don't know why? Is it something I do? Maybe? I am proud to say I got all my ironing done last night and some of the pieces were from (choke) last Thanksgiving and many from Christmas. But I noticed that I was running out of cotten clouses and that is what I wear in the summer. Time to iron.
Yesterday was busy, and I had clients until about 8:30. Still have three dresses to go and a wedding dress that I did not get to yesterday. Unless looking at it is getting to it. Just might call and see what the bride's actual plans are and leave it until I get back she has been flakey about the date. I did manage to get three loads of wash done, but not put away yet. After dinner and between clients I was able to get the green beans planted. Hubs helped me. We also planted corn (the first crop), sunflowers, zucc, yellow squash and pumpkins. Nothing else is big enough yet to plant. I will start another batch of corn, and it should be ready to plant when I get back.
I really hope to have all my sewing done by this evening so I can take Wednesday to get bills paid and pack and think. Yes thinking would be nice. This morning I have a lady from our ward coming over to teach her how to hem prom dresses. She is a beautiful quilter, and I do need some help once in a while. She did great yesterday, so we will see what today brings. Many people are just afraid to sew for others. I know I was , but I worked with someone and got over that fear, not that is does not resurface every once in a while.
I ran into Albertsons last night after I went to Joanns. I wanted some cilantro for dinner and they had one bunch that was in awful shape. I asked the produce man if they had any more and he said no that was the last sad bunch. I took it to the clerk and he agreed, he could not reduce the price but he gave me about 50 Monopoly tickets all rubber banded together and said that will make it worth the buy. Boy was he right. I won scads of free things and money off my next grocery shop. I guess it pays to ask for a discount.
today:
1. hem red prom dress
2. hem red jr. miss dress and fix zipper
3. put corset back in black prom dress
4. men dark blue dress
5. call bride about date.
6. start on wedding dress
Okay I am off to get these things done. I so need to get other things done to prepare to leave. JUst previewed post and no paragraphs just a big mess. Any suggestions on what I have done?
Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Congrats on getting the ironing done. Mine is never done because I hang things in my closet unironed then iron on demand.
ReplyDeleteI think you need to concentrate your efforts on your trip!
And way to score with the Monopoly tickets and free things!
I think I must love ironing.....
DeleteI think it is a wonderful idea to get someone to help you, who you trusted. You could probably handle more work then, too.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice but she did start crying yesterday while hemming an organdy dress.
DeleteI was never fearful of sewing for others. I suppose I was too dumb to know fear of sewing for others. My cousin asked me when I was 11-yrs-old to make a velvet dress for her toddler. I did and charged her $3, good money for a day's work for a child.
ReplyDeleteDo you have to iron everything you wear around the house?
I ask for discounts, like on the azalea, and got it free.
Yes I do iron everything I wear if it is cotton.
DeleteBlogger has a mind of its own some days Kim - fair near does my head in sometimes. I leave the ironing too ... I used to hide it when my Mum came to stay as it was "a mountain" but she would go searching for it. She loves ironing ... I think I was adopted 😉
ReplyDeleteMy twin sister always does mine when she comes, but boy does she bitch at me about it.
DeleteI gave up on blogger, I couldn’t figure out the last major change a few months ago…then again I was only blogging for friends. Regarding ironing, I find it therapeutic…even saying that, I usually wait 2-3 week between batches ;). Love your blog, it makes me smile. I have visions of you surrounded by prom dresses and wedding gowns!
ReplyDeleteDO you also have visions of my diets cokes and surrounded by donuts?
DeleteThere is a small icon on far right to remove formating. I wonder if you have that on, so none of your paragraph breaks appear? I have issues too with my pages some days. Your world is filled with flaky brides!
ReplyDeleteThanks SAM I was looking for that but it eluded me. You are right flaky is a great word.
DeleteMy husband loves to iron so who am I to take that away from him?
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!!
Mine will try but I don't like the way it looks after.
DeleteI am confused... easy enough to do but where do you put your clean laundry if you don't put it away?
ReplyDeleteI used to iron for a living... burned out doing it but it paid the mortgage when my late husband died.
