I have Hub's washing window today. As our house is one level and we have very large windows in every room, this is necessary. How do birds poop sideways? I never can figure it out. They are like acrobats. Both the dining room and the formal front room have bird decorations on the windows. So lovely.
Bride came to pick up today and she cannot find the veil she bought. So, I am quickly making one up today. Add that to the list.
I sewed very hard yesterday trying to get the piles done, but alas I did not get what I thought were 4 nightgowns shortened. Actually, there are 6 to shorten. I also found three more piles to complete when I started to dig. Add to 4 piles now the bridal veil and that is my work for the day. Say nothing about the 12 wedding dresses taunting me from the rack.
I did strip the bed in the master bedroom, and I have the mattress pad out on the line to dry. I have decided to take a two-hour break today from sewing and clean house. Why you ask? (Because you are all so fascinated by my antics, not) Because son in law rented a carpet shampooer and is coming down this afternoon to take it back and offered to shampoo the high traffic areas in the house. Therefore, they have to be picked up and vacuumed. I am not going to turn down free carpet cleaning.
So, I am going to set my timer to 15-minute intervals and see what I can get done in two hours. I have the family room, the kitchen, the master bath and spare bath, the dining room, and dusting the spare room. Then I have to mop all the floors, as they are disgusting
I just do better when I set a timer, it keeps me motivated. The hardest thing for me is not getting distracted. I have a tendency to over-do and then make a bigger mess than I started with. ADHD at its worst. I can stay on task for 15 minutes at a time, most of the time. I think this is what sewing is good for me. As a pair of pants is a task and I can complete it in a few minutes and then jump to the next thing. It is the jumping to the next thing before the task is complete that throws me.
By the way the grocery adds were hopeless. I mean nothing I would buy. So, it is just milk, tomatoes, and soda this week and the rest can go into savings. Also, just got 4 more bills, hospital, power, internet, but I need to get stamps, have to remember that at the grocery store.
Should I make a list? If I do, I can stall cleaning for a while...... You can see I am just so excited about this, right? Blah!

Busy, busy gal. You wear me outing reading all you have to do.
ReplyDeleteNo shopping here either this week. Bummer on the stamps - I think they went up on Monday.
I did not realize they were going up. I should have bought a roll of forever stamps.
DeleteI cannot imagine facing 12 wedding dresses! As long as you have a method that assures you work, you have got this. I say this as I hide so you won't throw the timer at me. Never turn down carpet cleaning.
ReplyDeleteI know. I also cleaned my favorite chair with the upholstery attachment. It was scary dirty and I didn't even know it!
DeleteYou've got this! I was not feeling well today, so was mostly slug like. I did manage to listen to a course I'm taking (recorded) & go through Nick's room and pull out bags of junk. So, at least I multi tasked a bit.
ReplyDeleteI remember cleaning the girls rooms and having huge bags of throw away things. It is amazing what they can accrue. Sorry you are not feeling well.
DeleteI do the 15 minute timer too, it makes the work feel more manageable and I know I can stop at the end of it if I want to. 12 wedding dresses though, oh kim I don't know how you do it!!
ReplyDeleteWell right now I am not doing it. But I will get there. If that is all I have to do I can usually knock out two a day.
DeleteI had a large picture window that attracted bird poop. I saw how they deposited it. The run into the window and it sort of squirts out. I suppose we would poop if we slammed into something.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of that. But an Olympic sport I would not make of it! :)
DeleteI'm going to pretend my house isn't as messy as it is. That's my coping. I know what you mean about the birds. Why and how can they hit certain spots. I have to be careful with morning coffee as they love the deck chairs.
ReplyDeleteI think they aim on purpose and then go laugh at us.
DeleteHello, my friend. Yep. The birds are something. Ugh. Your plan for 15 minutes sounds great. Sometimes I just get overwhelmed, you know? I hope you have a good day!
ReplyDeleteMe too! It works for me until the grandkids show up and Hub's needs help and then out the window!
DeleteWe did the outside of our windows and the house on Sunday and it is so nice having everything clean. Our windows tilt in so can be cleaned from the inside but I prefer to wash them good from the outside once or twice a year. We had a few places where the birds had bombed the house so to say. I've been the target of birds twice in the last few years. Not a pleasant feeling.
ReplyDeletethey crap on the window as they fly up to keep from hitting the window. ACTUALLY saw more than one do that. IT's like S..T there is a window LOL
