Monday, When the kids all come home...

When the kids all come home you will:

Never have enough toilet paper in each bathroom.  (there are 3 of them so you would think?)

Never step into a clean room.

Never keep a candy dish full.

Run out of the emergency paper towel roll immediately.  (I don't use paper towel, just one roll for emergencies )

Cook at least 2 large meals a day.

Put on an apron in the morning and never take it off.

Use an 18 pack of eggs and then some for every breakfast.

10 lbs of potatoes will last one day.

Run the dish washer almost continually

Make a double batch of everything, popovers, baking powder biscuits, Swedish pancakes and eat every last morsel.

Go through 2-3,  1/2 pints of jam a meal. (have to top those biscuits and popovers and toast)

Love, kiss, pat and console, wipe, dab on a continual basis.

Love every minute of the long exhausting day!

I hope you are all enjoying this holiday time.  I know I am.

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

  8. Only Son2 and Dil2 will be here this Christmas. It really does not seem much like the holiday, but I am pretty sure this is my new normal and we will adjust.

    1. It is hard when they all can't be home. I do believe this will be the last time for a long time if ever again. We will travel to different houses at Christmas.

    1. We do have a huge hot water tank becasue of the Jacuzzi tub, so we seldom run out even with all three showers going.

  11. Thanks for the laugh. The last time we had everyone home there was a case of toilet paper in every bathroom and we had 6 left when they left. It was 20 lbs potatoes every meal, 5 dozen eggs was never enough. Our middle child just FaceBooked me asking for cookies to be made and I told her that when she could afford to buy the ingredients we would make them. Her come back was I can't afford that...well in retirement neither can we. Daughter 1 had a total of 7, Daughter 2 was 9, Son 1 was alone, Son 2 had a friend (her parents were divorcing) Daughter 3 had 6 and Daughter 4 had 5... 30 mouths and all big eaters.
