Wednesday, Sad and grateful news

Mom passed yesterday evening.  She had a fever from a bladder infection and while I was trying to cool her down and give her a fever reducer she had another bad seizure. I just sat with her.  Our youngest daughter was with me and she took this very hard.  She is gone, gone to be with dad and her parents and brothers.  She is happy and at peace with those she loves.  I am so very grateful.

Last night all I could do was say thank you over and over in my prayers. I hope someday to remember the fun mom I had.  Right now it is just a feeling of relief and sadness.

Thanks for your prayers now I need to be cheered up:)

Kim

  3. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

  5. Glad you were with your mom when the time came. I'm so sorry and I understand that you are feeling sad, but also grateful and relieved. My parents had very long, drawn out illnesses too and it was a blessing when they passed. Always remember the good stuff. I hope your daughter will be okay. Hugs.

    2. To anonymous-Kim used her friends in cyber world for support and to help in a tiny way to share the challenges. No one gave more care and love than she did. I would not wish the pain and hurt she dealt with on anyone, and hope you never experience what Kim went through, but did so giving her mom dignified care and attention.

    3. Wow... seriously?? Even though caring for her mother may have been challenging, Kim did her best under the circumstances.

    4. Wow.... she was being real Anonymous. Have you ever cared for the elderly??? I applaud her for keeping her at home and not throwing her into a nursing home, like so many people do these days!

    5. How can anyone say such a thing? This comment by Anonymous is completely uncalled for. Go crawl back under the rock you came from.

    7. What is wrong with you Anonymous? Talk about having absolutely no compassion and being an absolutely "ugly" soul. Kim, please ignore this heartless person and their comment. They obviously have no idea how much you loved your mother and how much taking care of someone with her health issues can take a toll on the caretaker. You went above and beyond what most people would have done. You have my love, support and respect.

  25. I'm so sorry your mom has passed, but I am so glad that her suffering is over. As you said, it's not easy to leave this world, even though we have loved ones waiting for us on the other shore. God has her now, safe and sound.
    Blessings on you all.

  26. I'm very sorry for your loss. It is always a hard time, full of such mixed emotions--you are happy the person is in Heaven, feeling no pain or sadness, but for the ones left behind....not so easy.

I'm glad your mom got to spend time with both you and your sister toward the end. Then, you both can have memories of her last days. Although it was hard on your daughter, it was good for you both that you had each other during that difficult time.

  28. Kim, I am sad and glad at the same time. I know your mom had struggled and was unhappy with life recently and I know how difficult and physically taxing her care was on you. I am sad her end days were difficult and happy I believe that another door has opened and she is blooming again on the other side of the wall. Wishing you much peace and rest.

  29. Kim,I am very sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a parent. It's a hole in our hearts that is always there. You can take comfort that you were such a good daughter and took care of your mom at the end of her life. I know it was hard, but you did such a loving, honorable thing by doing this. It was a hard time for your mom and all of you, but I know she must have felt very loved in your home.
