In order to catch up things will have to pen up as far as schools and proms, and weddings and I just don't see that happening for a while. So it looks like I will just strive to pay off my bill for the month and put a small amount on the mortgage.
I am afraid we are going to owe taxes this year, so I must be prepared for that. I think this is why I am slow to get the tax crap pulled. I don't want to know.
We went and looked at baby chicks today but they were delayed until next week as the winter storms were too bad across the country to ship them via US Post Office. They would have lost 1/2 to freezing, so no new chicks until the 28th. I did pick up onion sets for a good price. I got yellow, red and white. I just used the last of the onions from the garden. Now we must buy all of them. When we were down in southern Idaho I looked for dropped onions but it was not that time of year. Dang!
I have been really, really tired today. I slept until 10, then took a nap at 2 and I am am going to bed about 10. Just so sleepy. That is okay, as nothing is pressing.
Hubs works at the high school today. Someone is doing something at the auditorium. So I will probably go over to lil sis's and visit as I have not seen her in almost two weeks. She is going on another trip leaving this coming Wednesday and will be gone for 10 days. Need to get my time in.
Have a restful and peaceful Sabbath
Kim
Sorry you didn't meet your goals, but you have been very blessed this month as well. You got to take a trip and see family, you got to spend time with the littles, you got to provide many much appreciated meals for missionaries, you got to get your nails done, you have a lovely home to rest your head.
ReplyDeleteCount those blessings and not the misses!!!!!
Have a blessed day.
I know, I did have a good month when it comes to experiences. Also I was able to pay all my obligations on time, which I have not been able to do in the past, plus send my Aunt enough to pay her yearly taxes, something I promised my dad I would do. I am very blessed.
DeleteCheryl makes a great point, many blessings this month, so hopefully you will meet your goals in March. I hope you have great Sunday too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Belinda,I do have to think about all I have been blessed with. It is easy to forget when you want to make large payments on debt.
DeleteI'm sorry you are not making your goals-when income depends on other people spending their money, it has an impact and I can relate. Maybe you can put the word out that you do all kinds of alterations and repairs. As more people thrift, or mak euse of stuff they already have, maybe there would be a business in hemming pants, fixing coats etc. more so than wedding an dprom dresses?
ReplyDeleteWell one thing that does not suffer is alterations, however with covid people are afraid to come over and go out. So I think the downturn is more that. Also the time of year.
DeleteSam makes a great suggestion, that maybe word of mouth advertising on another angle of your business might be useful right now.
ReplyDeleteI've struggled with my side hustle for February, and will probably hit about 1/3 of my goal.
I think February is a slow month for many businesses.
DeleteHuge dental bills, sent money to oldest son for car fix after ice storm ( he did not ask, I sent anyway because I am so happy he is alive. He is son who was in ICU during riots last summer, and I took wrong turn trying to get to him and ended up in middle. He almost died then, twice. I told him he is like a cat, he has nine lives.) He is very humble and lives in RV while he works up there. I just think we are doing well during Covid times if we manage to pay our bills every month and stay alive. Walmart was completely out of eggs, and only had one carton of Diet Mt Dew. I did get sliced cheese.
ReplyDeleteMy sentence did not make any sense. Oldest son was in ICU ( not Covid) in northern part of state. I was in car and took a wrong turn trying to travel to see about him, and I ended up almost in middle of riots in the largest city in our state. Anyhoo, my bills were more than my income this month thanks to ongoing dental. Some months are like that.
DeleteIsn't is scary when one of your kids gets that sick. Our youngest had toxic shock from a root canal and she was in a coma for 9 days, we came so close to losing her. We also lost a daughter when she was a baby to birth defects, so I can imagine your pain. Then trying to get to him. You are right just being able to pay my bills during t
DeleteSome months are just like that. Ebb and flow type of thing. The upside is that wedding season is about to begin so the situation will change and possibly overwhelm you shortly.
ReplyDeleteI know, but I always have to complain and get edgy this time of year, you haven't noticed....
DeleteDaddy used to say if you have a roof over your head, clothes on your back and food for the table you are more blessed than thousands of others are. Just change your point of view.
ReplyDeleteI know, How are you? Did granddaughter get her pack n play I sent let me know so I can nag Amazon.
DeleteI can relate to not meeting goals for February. I'm right with you on the financial end. I am hopeful for March. We shall see.
ReplyDeleteWell it is still much better than it was a few years ago, right?
DeleteI agree with Cheryl, and just think of all the people you blessed this month. Your auntie was able to pay her taxes. Your daughter was able to celebrate a milestone birthday with her parents. Your grandsons spent time with you and made happy memories. You helped your in-laws with food and a good night's sleep. Missionaries had meals and cookies. You blessed a lonely friend and a woman who had surgery. You babysat your grandchildren so your daughter could have a break. Sounds like you are a blessing to many, and you are the hands and feet of Jesus.
