Another sunny day here and I will take it! Hubs is out walking the dog, and I had to stay in as I have clients coming.
Me loves the sun. Made pizza last night and Hubs liked it. Me not so much. I think it was the sauce I made. I really don't like a really tomatoey (is that a word?) pizza. Now I love a fresh sliced tomato pizza. But we have leftovers and hubs ate them for lunch and I don't know if he will do dinner? There is more left and I know I won't eat it. I tried to eat it for lunch and a no. How do you disguise pizza? Hmmm....
GO read SAM'S POST ON TIERED TRAYS. I had a good laugh. I didn't realize that this group was so out of touch with what is popular in home decor. Also realize I am just as out of touch, as my house is done in early attic. I never have what is new and exciting. I have what is cheap and free. I mean people spend money on this stuff, and search for things to display. All I see is something I would have to dust.
Speaking of dusting probably something I should consider. Nah... The bunnies are not crawling out from under the sofa yet.
Kim needs to get busy, she has plenty to do in the shop. She is Happy. Color Kim excited.
1. hem jeans
2. hem 2 jeans
3. alter a jacket
4. hem 2 pairs of jeans
5. hem 4 curtain panels
6. mend a bag of clothes
7. start on a large pile of alterations
Plus I have a wedding dress to alter and I need to make sure I have the fabric to do this. I also have another wedding dress coming in this afternoon. Yippee! May this enthusiasm last.
Does anyone have big plans for the weekend? I am trying to think of what I will do. Boy am I boring.
I might have to go and look for something to display on a tiered tray. WE MIGHT HAVE TO FORM A CLUB. The "does not own a tiered tray club". Let's embroider this on pillows. SAM you are exempt from the embroidery.
Now all of you go wish SLUGGY a happy birthday, she is getting old and needs us to make her happy. She also does not own a tiered tray.
Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.
Kim
Sounds like Sluggy needs a tiered tray for her birthday. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've previously owned a glass tiered tray, for serving desserts & the like on. It was a gift from my mom. I got rid of it when we moved, because it's a hassle to store, and I'm not an entertainer like she is. We don't have family nearby, and 90% of our family lives near my parents, so she is constantly entertaining. She has more than one tiered tray, but none of them are beaded. :-)
We've got not much on this weekend. I'm about to head out to watch a school soccer game, then Nick has tennis. No plans tomorrow, which means grocery store, produce stand, some cooking & hopefully a glass of wine with the hubs. Sunday is more tennis for Nick, and we're going to a wine tasting. Perfect blend of relaxing & a few things to do.
Sounds like a nice weekend. We have several really nice wineries around here. I don't go because I don't drink, but Lil sis does.
DeleteNow we can all search for Tiered Trays and mail them to Sluggy. Then, she'd probably turn a hefty profit reselling them to the in crowd. Dusting is on my list, though Hubs vacuumed on his day off the middle of a very important suit meeting! The dog was going crazy barking, he's clueless. I finally slipped away, and unplugged the vacuum. He looks at me in horror, and says, "sorry" .
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how clueless they are sometimes. I really dislike dusting, but I think it is because of the house I grew up in with all the dark woodwork and I dusted constantly. In fact, the family joke is that I was born with a dust cloth in my hand.
DeleteI love getting sunny days! CHEESE - lot of cheese will disguise the sauce!!
ReplyDeleteI am early attic and vintage garage sale at my house and I wouldn't have it any other way. Most of the stuff I see I don't like - so I will keep mine.
I am really the same way. I just like old. Or I am comfortable with old.
DeleteNo tiered tray here either. I don't care to dust and more crap to dust isn't on my list. (I had to dust at Mom's-she LOVE LOVE LOVED nicknacks and she checked to be sure they were done. If I'm lucky I dust every other week.
ReplyDeleteI do purchase new....saving for high quality once in a lifetime. Our bedroom set is solid wood and will outlive us. We bought it after 17y married and gave our free dresser to lil sis. (we had nothing else but our mattresses on a frame.) Our dining room set was inherited from Dad/Mom-solid mahogany. This will also outlive us. Our sectional lasted 23 years-worth every penny. We replaced it 5y ago so we're good for quite awhile.
SUN! We had some as well here in the Treasure Valley. The clouds came and went but oh the shine was glorious when we had it.
Happy weekend!
I am like you now. If I buy it, it had better last. I had so much make do and hand me down furniture in my past. You know the tv tray end tables and the blankets covering the old davenport with holes. Then there were the plywood and cement block bookshelves. We actually Had a folding table and folding chairs for about 4 years in our kitchen.
DeleteSigh, I actually own two tiered trays. They were wedding gifts and are solid silver. They get a polish every so often, but not that much use any more. No parties going on here right now.
ReplyDeleteYou sure have lots to do in the sewing room.
God bless.
I had one also it was stainless Steele, but I gave it up as it was too much to store and I can make tiers with different things I have.
Deleteoh, all that hemming ugh! Not sure what a tiered tray is? I do have an old tiered cake stand that was my grandmas - I'm off to read the post..
ReplyDeleteI actually love hemming as it is fast. A tiered cake stand is the same thing, I think. See how I am opening in a whole new world for you guys..... You don't have to thank me.
DeleteI actually do have a tiered tray. It is silver and I doubt wooden beads would be a thing I would use on it. I could use pearls, fake ones, of course. You don't have to anything exciting, just be okay with what you have to do.
ReplyDeleteWell, that sounds classy!
DeleteBy the way, I do not think tiered trays are new. I have owned them for years and think of them as old-fashioned and quaint rather than new. They remind me of English teas.
ReplyDeleteOh they are not, it is just decorating them with crap is a new thing.
DeleteI call them dust collectors and don’t need anymore than what I have. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love fresh tomatoes on a pizza. It’s such a good contrast with the other toppings.
I know and fresh basil and fresh mozzarella, yum. Reminds me of summer.
DeleteSliced tomato, basil pizza is my all time favorite! When I do make pizza sauce I add a lot of parmesan, oregano and red pepper flakes to tone it down.
ReplyDeleteOkay I will try that next time. It was just too tomato paste tasting. Yuck
