Tuesday, Mom antics

Well mom's new thing is that she is going to move back to Missoula.  Don't know how she is going to do this as she can hardly see, is in a wheel chair almost all the time, can't drive, doesn't have any real memory left.  But she is mad at me and I have no idea what I did.  She is mad that I had someone care for her on Friday when I was home.  She has been at Lil sis's house since Saturday and refuses to come home.  Part of me is of panicking and part of me says GO!   Although how she will arrange it is beyond me because I will not help.

Lil sis is mom's power of attorney if she should be in a place where she is not able to make decisions for herself.  We could seek a guardian ship and the doctor has agreed that she is unable to make rational decisions.  So now we have to protect the little savings she has left.  If she gets to Missoula and sees me brothers her money will be gone.  I feel terrible taking charge and allowing my Lil sis in this position, but I feel I have no choice.  I just pray and pray for a solution.  This is so hard have I said that before? :)

We had a lovely Memorial Day, good food, good friends.  My house is clean.
I have plenty to do today!

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

  1. I hope you are correct that she cannot go anywhere. My grandmother when she lived with us was found out on the highway before anyone in the house was awake. She had no idea who anyone was, not even my mother, yet she was going home! Don't feel bad. You are keeping her safe from others, family, and herself. How far is Missoula from where you live? You live in Idaho? Even if it were two miles, she cannot get there. Get the guardianship.

I could help you and show you how to let the housework go.

    1. Missoula is about 4 hours away or 215 miles of the worst most beautiful road in America. I need no help in letting housework go you just have to come look.

  2. Does your sister have both medical and financial and is it durable? Depending on the way it is written, and also the laws within your state, you may not need to seek guardianship. Sorry you are dealing with this. Speaking from experience, I know it is a royal pain. Hugs.

    1. Yes she has both and I don't know if it is durable. We are just looking into the guardian ship.

  3. I'm sure she is probably just trying to scare you into doing it all how she wants it. At least you have your sis as backup

    1. She is very stubborn and when she has a wild hair it is awful.

  5. I would say she is just trying to scare you into bending to her will, but if she is like my mom her faculties might not be firing on the right synapses all the time rendering her incapable of making a decision. Today I was at Mom's and ask her to turn her TV down because I was tired of yelling over it. She tried to turn it off by taking her phone out of its cradle and punching the #2 3 times with me telling her all three times she had the phone not her remote. We are closer and closer to getting help for Mom and she is going to be one pissed off lady when we do.

    1. Wow sounds like we are in the same situation. Mom is almost incapable of operating a phone or her remote.
