So Kim, that's right Kim being Kim, has been just a having a good time, really not paying attention to the shop. It has been really slow and no real demands, just not paying attention? I don't pay attention really well, I AM VERY GOOD AT THIS.
So now she has herself in a rough place because of her lack of attention paying skills.
We are leaving Thursday for Twin Falls to meet all the girls for Halloween. Our younger two are flying down with the kids and the Eldest is picking them up at the airport in Boise on Thursday.
We will pick up mom in Nampa and take her with us to Twin Falls so she can enjoy Halloween with her grand kids and great grand kids. Hubs will take her back home and go back to our house while I am in Hawaii and then back down to pick me up.
Now we have known this for a couple of months. The original plan was to come in today on the 26 as it was to be Dad's 93 birthday, but he did not make it, so we are going in later. No problem except, as I have mentioned earlier I was not paying attention and now I have 48 hours before we leave and I have discovered that there is a lot of work in the shop..... Well as in several items and some of them time consuming. Shame on me. I WAS SO ENJOYING THE DOWN TIME.
Well not anymore. Kelsa is here today and Hub's just took her for a long walk in the stroller. She keeps one very busy and I am very busy. Hubs has to pick up Schmill's this afternoon from school. I so have to get busy. Egads, why, why, don't I think ahead?
Things to do before we leave.
1. get shop work done.
as in
1. fix the necklines of two ponchos
2. hem two missionary pants
3. hem a pair of jeans
4. hem three pairs of pants
5.hem two pairs of pants
6. fix a skirt and a jumpsuit
7. fix a jump suit
8. military patch's
9. straps on a bridesmaid dress
10. alter and hem two dresses for a wedding
This is a lot to do my friends in one day. Can I get it done? I had better as there are other worries out there.
2.Like packing.... Yes packing for our Idaho weather for 4 days and the Hawaii weather for 7 days. If I have packing to do I also have ironing to do.
3.Maybe getting the house cleaned up a bit.
4.Don't forget all the bills have to be paid before you leave.
5.Also you and Hub's need to get the missionary apartments checked on and paperwork sent in to headquarters.
6.You also have to cook dinner and Hub's just used the bacon you were going to use tonight for corn chowder. Now what are you going to do?
My head is buzzing, I need... need... I don't know.
Do any of you do this to yourself or is this just a Kim thing? Be sure to chastise me in the comments as I need my butt kicked for reals.
Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are int he negative.
Kim
We all have OOPSIES! It will be done. Hey sometimes we just have to pay to play!! You are about to get a glorious vacation - I can understand being a bit distracted. You got this kiddo!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. I do have to pay. I am going to have so much fun!
DeleteOuch, I feel your pain, Kim. But I am sending you positives vibes to get it all done in time. Bless your heart.
ReplyDeleteThanks Belinda
DeleteI will never chastise you! No one else seems to feel the repercussions-your husband is being fed, your children have child care, your missionaries have their housing needs met. It seems Kim is the one getting the short end, so no I will not chastise, but I will send you hugs.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth. Hubs is out hunting today. I am thinking, what if he gets something? It has warmed up again and he will have to stay and process it..... by himself....
DeleteI'm all about lists, and pre-planning, so I'm not going to say it never happens, but I typically see challenges ahead of them occurring & do my best to prevent. HOwever, that often means I'm up at 1 am, randomly thinking of a conflict a month ahead of time, that's not terribly important.
ReplyDeleteI used to that when I was working for others, I hated it. Hard to sleep.
DeleteYou will get it done and feel exhilarated at the end! Nothing like a huge challenge to focus the mind. But best not to make a habit of this or you will have grey hair too soon ;)
ReplyDeleteOh honey I went grey at 21. In fact there are pictures of me pregnant with my first with a grey streak on my forehead. Hubs used to call me Morticia.
DeleteThis happens to me often...Right now it is all out to get Christmas gifts, ornaments and cards made. I think I might have procrastinated a bit knitting those scarves. You can do this. Start with the quick things and work your way up to the more difficult items in the shop.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I know, but why put myself under this stress. if I just paid attention.
DeleteYou've had a lot on your plate the past few months Kim, so you deserved every single minute of those good times. We've all been in this position before. This too shall pass.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful vacation. Safe travels my friend!
Thank you and you are right. The down time was needed and loved.
DeleteYep. No matter how well I plan something always goes haywire. Don't beat yourself up just do the best you can. Time to cut the list to the essentials to get done. Also housework can wait if you don't have the time. Believe me it goes nowhere while you are gone. lol. Take care and safe travels.
ReplyDeleteYou are right as hubs will be here by himself for a week and who knows what will happen?
DeleteYou relaxed too much!
ReplyDeleteDo the hard things first while you are fresh and not frazzled. With the hard stuff behind you, the easy stuff will fly. You won't be looking forward to hard jobs. Get that young woman to come and help. Don't clean the house as dirt will wait. Maybe husband can do that while you are away.
Burn the sewing stuff you did not get done and swear you did not get it.
I just snorted my diet coke, you make me laugh.
DeleteSo very sorry. If anybody can finish that list, you can...then enjoy time with family and have a wonderful vacation.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy.
DeletePrioritize the list and check off in order of importance. Put the clean house at the bottom of the list. If it does not get done, your husband can do it while you are gone.
ReplyDeleteYeah you beleive that don't you. "Why bless your heart." :)
DeleteI have no doubt you will get it all done. Sometimes we work better umder the pressure of a deadline.
ReplyDeleteI do work well under pressure, but sure don't enjoy it as much.
DeleteYou got this!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori.
