Tuesday, Lil sis has COVID!

Here is a picture of my beloved Lil sis and I at B's wedding goofing around with stick Dan, Sis's husband who attended via stick.  Lil sis was in St Louis last week with friend who had lost her son.  She stayed with friends who became sick on Saturday and Lil sis flew out Sunday only to come home and find out that her freinds tested positive for COVID.  All had been fully vaccinated.  Lil sis has a cough but other than that says she is fine. I am worried as she takes an autoimmune suppressing drug just like I do.  Please include her in prayers.  I can not see her, and I am just so scared about this.

Also just found out that Sissie is going to SLUGGY'S THIS WEEKEND TO ORGANIZE HER!!!!!  This could be a disaster. Sissie is the most organized person I know.  Like Sluggy may not survive.  She has now been relegated to the family category and with that blessing comes, Sissie bossy, organization.  I would tell Slug's to run, far and fast, but I think it is too late for her.

Just so you know, Sissie looks just like this in Hot Pants.

Sissie, has all her shoes in clear plastic  boxes with labels.  Her clothing is hung in color coordinating order.  Her linens are paired and tied with ribbons. She got the organizing gene. I did not.  I am lucky to hang my clothes up.  My shoe rack is always a mess. She has worked with me for years and years and every time she comes to my house things get better. She has rubbed off alot, thank goodness as I am so much better than I used to be and I am thankful for every minute of her help and bossing. Well the bossing can get a little overwhelming and maybe hurtful but she is always right in the end.

I know there will be lots of laugh's and fun as they will surely be sending me vignette's of the goings on. Wish I could be there to help defend SLUG'S but I think she is on her own. Poor darling. Or maybe I should be saying,"Why bless her heart." Anne no scuttle butt from you and wipe the smile off your face, Sissie could appear on your doorstep and come look at your basement or better yet the linen closet.

I called Slug's to warn her , because I am kind like that. She is afraid as she should be.

I went to make EGGPLANT PARM and my eggplants were off.  I had picked them right after it froze and they looked great, but obviously they could not be left for a few days in the fridge due to freezing.  DANG!  I will see if I can scare up some free ones like I did last year.  So dinner last night was just homemade chicken fingers, mash potatoes, gravy and veggies.

Tonight it will be bratwurst and salads.I am running up to the food bank at the end of the day today and meeting B.  She needs to borrow a black sweater for Dan's grandmother's funeral.  Dan's grandmother died the same day as Hub's dad's funeral.  She passed from covid pneumonia, after suffering another stroke probably brought on by covid.  This is getting scary folks, just in case you didn't think it was real.

I DID GET DONE ALL THE THINGS ON MY LIST  YESTERDAY.  I was pretty proud of that as my attack of lazies is pretty bad.  But hub's did get us registered to vote in the upcoming elections, both city and school board.  This was a process as we had moved and last time we voted we did absentee with our old address.  Now we needed to re register at our new precinct. Which involved going to city hall a getting documentation stamped and signed. Or in other words a royal pain in the A$$.  But he went and did it all so I just had to arrive and fill out my ballot, as we are going to be gone on election day.  SO one more thing off my list of aggravating things to do.

Now he has finally hung both kayaks in the garage, for winter storage and we realized that the parts for my kayak that were missing when we unpacked it had not arrived as they said they would when we complained.

One of the parts involves covering a hole in the top of the kayak.  It was still usable, but would not be usable in choppy water, so hub's went back to the store to remind them they had promised to send parts.  OF COURSE NO ONE HAD DONE ANYTHING. So Hub's demanded an immediate fix or a new kayak.  We just pulled my kayak down and loaded it in the truck and Hub's is on his way back down to the store.  Good for him again one less thing for me to hassle with.  This is a big step for him.  A few years ago he would never have ventured off on his own to solve a problem.  There is progress in this area, while his memory diminishes.

Well I am off to get some sewing done, I have a few things to do.  Don't know how much I will get done.

1. hem three pairs of pants

2. replace a zipper in a dress

3. military uniform

4. mend a jumpsuit

5. replace zippers in two pairs of pants

6. alter skirt, repair jumpsuit

That's it folks, I am out of work after this lot is done. I could easily get this done in an afternoon.

But I also want to go through the garage and organize the food storage it is on my list for the month.

Do any of you have a friend or relative with the organizing gene? DO you think Slug's should be scared?

  1. Hi, healing sparkles headed to your lil sis! We don’t have an organizer in the family…thankfully, I don’t like to keep a lot of stuff, so my closet is 90% empty…the only areas of mine that are full right now are the pantry and freezer. Alas, my husband keeps everything…he has full drawers, a closet, and two garages…and still could use more room. Sigh. The good news is that I realize iI can only control so much ;). Glad to see your sewing to do list isn’t two pages long ;). Love your blog!

  4. Hope your lil sis feels better with no lasting effects. So sorry she got sick, esp since she was just trying to help her friend. I'm sure that your other sissy and sluggy will have fun together. Maybe you can make them jealous with pictures of Hawaii soon? ;) So glad your hubby is able to help with the kayak and voting stuff. Good for him!
Hope you have a good week.

  10. It sounds like fun and games with covid in your neck of the woods. Someone could end up dead. Do you not need a covid test prior to boarding a flight in the U.S.? 728,000 persons dead from Covid in the U.S. Duh.
