Thursday, Getting a cold, drats!

Yes, here it comes and drat I so do not want this right now or ever!

Day two with another day of coming and three days of there and three days gone. At least I don't have a full weekend, although Lil sis's birthday is the 5th and I know I will bake her a cake.

Right now, I just want to wrap up in a blanket and go back to bed.

I did get all 31 pairs of pants hemmed yesterday what a job. But I did not finish until 7:00.  Too long a day I tell you.

Today it is wedding dresses.  I want to get a couple done and maybe a third started.  We will see.

Then with it being the end of August I will need to pay bills also not my favorite chore. But it must be done.

Kelsa is here today, and I think I will watch Oliver on Saturday depending on how I feel. Really don't want the grandkids to get this crap and then run it through the whole family.  But who knows maybe they gave it to me?

I am off to work.

Kim

  3. I really back what Cheryl said. Tell the kids you are sick, they don't want that in their homes either

    1. Kids were gone all weekend and it was a blessing although I did run up and watch Oliver for about 4 hours.

  4. The kids probably gave it to you, but no use giving it back so they can hold onto it for you to catch again.
I take it you don't hem by hand. But, what kind of machine do you use? I can blind hem with a zigzag stitch. But, I tried to learn to use a machine with a curved needle that swung right and left, a machine used to hem only. However, I never mastered that machine. Otherwise, I would have bought one. Instructor kept telling with practice, I could master it. No, not true.
Go ahead and wrap yourself in a blanket for a bit. Maybe some rest will help in healing.

    1. I do not like blind hem stitchers. If I have really good dress pants I do by hand.

  5. I've had the summer cold/ allergies. I'm sleeping poorly- haven't had a real night's rest in nearly 8 months. I'm just wore out from everything. The latest round of fighting with a bank who say "they truly have my best interest at heart" sent me to a near breaking point.Every day it's not settled is costing me money, but it's the emotional pull this particular issue has that's setting me up for a mental health crumble. I need a real break from life. I keep saying I'll run away. Maybe I need to stop the idle words and act.

    1. Oh Sam I so understand where you are. My bank is insisting I close my account and my CC and start over. I don't want to and so I have not moved on it and will not until forced. Maybe a FMLA leave of absence? Although that might not be good either. You are having to deal with all of this and still work and be sane. I was able to just not deal for a couple of months and then somewhat control (ha ha ) what I have to do. Okay I will quit lying now. But this is damn hard and you just need understanding and lots of love. DO I need to come out there? I am leaving Kays on the 31st of Oct but could one way to you and then one way home. What can I do?

  7. Ohhh.. how annoying! I had a cold this summer which was mostly coughing (not Covid) and it lasted too long! I’m hoping yours will be over much sooner! I love the photos of your grand babes, and happy birthday to Kelsey! Take it as easy as you can- it’s good to keep busy, but not if it affects your health… sending hugs! Xo, Ricki in NY

  10. Time to put a "closed" sign on your door - take a day or two off to really rest and then get back at it.

I have my 69 year old brother staying with me for a few days (he had a stroke 5 months ago) and it's like having a big toddler around. I'm exhausted.

    1. Oh Sissie love. Nothing like a Sissie to love and take care of you. I am smiling while I type this. Because I know just how he is acting.

  11. Oh please get a good rest. My American bestie thought she had a head cold but, she ended up testing positive for COVID. Plenty of fluids and rest. Non-doctor's orders!
