Wednesday,A sense of humor goes a long way.

All day yesterday whenever I did something for mom, like got her lunch, or a soda, or fixed her TV, I would give her a charge.  I would add $39.00 or 41.00 to her account.  That is what they would do in the care center she looked at.  It was $42.00 for a shower.  We had a good laugh dickering over the prices of things.  If she asked for some Ice water, I would say $15.00 and she would say $12.00.  I said sold.  So she started really lowering her prices.  By the end of the day I could buy a new car.  One thing taking her to care centers really opened her eyes to the amount of money it costs to be cared for. Maybe she will be nicer.  One can only dream.

I was able to put out five dresses yesterday and teach for two hours.  I also have two more ready to hit the machine and more are coming in this evening.  I can't say this enough, I am blessed with work.

We have the two littles with us today.  So I don't think I will get into the shop until they both go down for a nap, this afternoon.  I slept terrible last night and could also use a nap but that is out of the question.

I should have more good news tomorrow if I can get another couple of people to pick up.  So stay tuned!

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

  1. WOW! The only way I could teach for two hours these days is if I did it from my chair, unless we're talking about the littles, who exhaust me in other ways!

  2. I am guessing you have another $1,000 payment. Maybe, if she can be nice and fray your nerves, the trip to care centers will be successful. Do they have adult day care centers where she might find something to do and get out of your hair for a few hours a day? Or, maybe a senior to come in and keep her company? Those two services are available here. I am glad she was cheerful!

    2. I think that will be your salvation! If she is sharp enough to dicker with you over prices, then she is sharp enough to know frazzling your last nerve has led to this. Of course, maybe she cannot help herself all the time.

  3. I am glad you had fun with the "game". We could do that with Mom but only if all the cylinders were firing correctly.
    Waiting for the good news!

  4. So the tour was successful. My mom hated her time in the rehab center, so when she got disagreeable, we'd remind her that we weren't professional and remember how much she didn;t like the pro's anyway.

  6. I think you had a brilliant idea to "charge her" for your services. Praying that she will be more cooperative and appreciative now.
