I am pretty sure this picture was taken a year ago, but I am so happy I get my granddaughter for almost a week. She keeps me so busy I can't think of anything else. I really have to stay on my toes to get things done.
I sewed mostly hand sewing almost all day yesterday. I am hoping to get at least 3 piles out of here by today. I have 2 wedding dresses slated for tomorrow.
It is food pantry day today, so I am taking my neighbor up this afternoon. We also go a skiff of snow last night and it is very cold and windy out. And this might just be our winter. I hope it is, as we rarely get a lot of snow here. Once in a while we will get a deluge and it sticks for a while, but not very often.
Kelsa's parents are having fun in Hawaii, and Poor eldest just had a school shooting threat in her town. But it was a false alarm, it just made her phone blow up. I just can't believe people. On one end of the world, I have a child in paradise and at the other end I have one in crisis. Fun being a mom.
Thanks for all the well wished on my post they sure do make me feel better. Grief makes you feel alone, even in a room full of people. It is a weird place to be mentally.
Well, I had better get to work. No one is going to do it for me.
Trying to stay afloat in more ways than one.
Kim
So happy you get some time with that little one. They are just so stinking cute at that age. Sounds like you have a plan on keeping busy. Good going. Take care my friend.
ReplyDeleteShe does jeep me on my toes.
DeleteYes, grandchildren really cheer you up. My two oldest are going to spend their spring break with me.
ReplyDeleteThat will be so much fun!
DeleteThank you, Kim, for sharing what you're going through. My nephew has terminal brain cancer, and we see the end coming for us. Watching you and Hilogene and Sam work through your grief has helped me prepare for what is to come (although nothing ever really can). Still, it HAS helped, and I am grateful. Even in your sorrow you are helping others.
ReplyDeleteThank you, my nephew is dying too and it should be anytime, it’s so sad but we pray that he goes soon to end his suffering but the grief will be the same. He’s 43. Jre
DeleteI am so sorry for what you are going through. Life is so precious and then so hard at the same time. We are all in this together my friend.
DeleteKelsa is beyond cute. I never had kids and it is so nice to see her in action! I can imagine your hair standing on end sometimes with her ;). All good here. I had an older car and traded it today with extra cash for a brand new car. First new car in at least twenty years. So I am excited! I wish Stu was here, then again, he would have explained to me that no one ever needs a new car and I would have gotten a used one. Guess this is a tiny act of being on my own! I feel happy and a tad guilty but the guilt only lasts one second then I am back to happy ;). Enjoy the cutest girl for the next week! She has a fan club. Hilogene in Az.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny that we are doing things our husbands would have questioned? Like that little stab if independence. It is kind of nice and life changing in a way. Good for you!
DeleteShe is a balm for you right now! One day at a time and one step at a time!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much
DeleteIf nothing else, she will be cuddly and keep you very busy. There does come a day when you can sew with a little girl around. Around three years old, mine was less enamored with my sewing equipment. However, she did cut my measuring tape into several pieces with her little dull scissors. When I asked her why she did it, she said because she did not have one. So, she had a good reason. I kept one piece of it in a kitchen drawer for measuring small amounts of whatever.
ReplyDeleteHOw funny.
DeleteEnjoy your time with that sweet baby girl.
ReplyDeleteI am and she is a pill.
DeleteHave fun with the baby. Time flies when they are growing up
ReplyDeleteI know and I am going to enjoy every minute of it.
