Tuesday, I don't want to!!!!

This is how I feel about the dress I am working on.  Bride came last night, and I pinned on lace, and it took forever.  All the pieces would not line up. I will get that done first thing even though I don't want to. Then I have to line the bodice by hand another thing I don't want to do.  I have to fix one of the darts again!!!! But she did like the fit so that is good. Beat head against wall.

Went out this morning and watered chickens and did more picking up in yard.  Then cleaned up and hosed off a mess the grandkids had made of the porch.

Now the back yard and deck are returned to normal.  I was able to freeze over a gallon of apricot puree last night. But too worn out or lazy to do dishes.  So, I did those this morning. I am trying to find chores to avoid this dress, but I think I clear ran out.

Okay Kim, set a timer and get to work.  Also need to slide in a piano lesson this evening as my teacher is leaving and so am I. Boy these paragraphs would not pass inspection in an English class.  I am jumping from one thought to another.

Sissie left for Missoula to pick up a friend. Dan is without a car.  I will run and pick him up this evening to go get a sandwich.

It is going to get to 104 today.  Love the heat, but I seem to spend most of my time in the airconditioned house. So maybe?

Say a prayer for me on this dress it is a real stressor. There are 7 piles to complete 2 are rather hard and wouldn't it be lovely if I could get to a few of these today?  A girl can dream.

Have a great and productive day

God is good

Kim

  1. Do the how to eat an elephant thing and take one small step at a time on the dress. I do not envy you.

  2. Fingers crossed with the dress! I need to get a project off of my plate for my manager, and I think i've found someone who can help me understand what I need to do (manager is on vacation, or I'd ask her directly). One of the hard parts of being new is that many tasks require additional direction or input - it's hard to self serve when you don't have any context. Hopefully I'll be up to speed soon! - Hawaii Planner

  3. I'm sorry that the piles just keep you so busy while also managing the needy brides. Do you see an end to when you will not need to supplement "retirement" income? I don't think folks realize the stress of living a life, bills, house, donations and supporting other family members, based on money coming in for two people, then suddenly just the money coming in is for just one. I wish you all the best managing what you need to do. I'm doing Ok, but with the cost of insurance, just barely if I also want to have some good things in life.

    1. I hope so, we have a small heloc that we took out when we bought the house. In order to pay cash, we borrowed from an investment account. Which we could do tax free during covid. Then we turned around and borrowed on the house value for a loan to pay back the investment. I am paying that back right now. Once that is paid for, I will be financially solvent. Actually, I am now, but I like to travel. Also medical is expensive and always a worry. Property taxes way up, and home insurance and car insurance just sky rocketed in this state. But I do well and will be able to quit sewing when I feel the need. But I can certainly understand your feelings of everything lands on me. Not fun.

  6. My mother would freeze juice and make jelly in the winter after Christmas to avoid the heat of summer and fall.

  7. I am great at finding other things to do when I don't want to tackle something I don't want to do. Good luck on the dress. I love the cartoon about someone saying get a grip. I have thought of gripping the neck once or twice. :)
