Okay I am in the middle of paying the bills and I have discovered that I am broke. I mean like there is no money left. I mean I must behave.
I plan on taking a trip to see Slug at the end of the month, haven't set the dates but I need to get my purse in gear. Life is just frustrating.
I use one CC all month for expenses, and I don't really keep track. Guess what I need to keep track! So, this month other than visiting and having fun with Sluggy I am going on an austerity journey. My bills are paid, and I need to not spend any money. I need to not use the CC for anything. I just have to cut back. Don't know where but somewhere.
I also want you to know that cutting back is not in my wheelhouse.
I had a bride come in today for a fitting and I can finish her dress today. Plus, I have a children's karate outfit that needs to be done by tomorrow.
My mind is a dither on how to pay bills and save for Christmas. But it will get done. I am sure of it. See Kim give herself a peptalk.
See Kim utterly fail at the pep talk.
Hold on... I am definitely getting it together.
So now I am going to run around town with bills and such and then come home and get to work. Kim needs money.
I sewed together three aprons last night it took 5 minutes apiece. Now I have to bind them, maybe I can do that tonight.
Should I do an apron give away?
Have a great and productive day
God is good
Kim
You and I are living in this oddly similar universe several states apart. I get paid once a month and I just recognized yesterday that I need to curtail my spending as well. I, too, have a credit card that I use all month and then just pay the bill and I, too, have not been tracking! We can do this!
ReplyDelete[But I'm taking the grands on vacation this month for their fall break and that week doesn't count. ;) ]
I love that you don't count the week with the grands. We are alike!
DeleteI am cheering for you to stay on budget. One thing I do is to use cash, you notice when you are spending it.
ReplyDeleteI use cash a lot also, but lately have been using that card more!!!!
DeleteI am a cash person too - it really does curb your spending. I just HATE letting go of cash!!!! You got this - you always do.
ReplyDeleteI am the same way Cheryl. A CC is so easy and gets you into trouble.
DeleteI know, prices keep getting higher and higher, but then I live in one of the most expensive states in the union. I do find that if I have a list and keep to it, I spend less.
ReplyDeleteI love me a list. Then I leave it at home.
DeleteI was going to ask you if you've been to CK's blog but I see her here in your comments. Good way to cut back and save. She's got lots of good ideas.
ReplyDeleteWe just got a new washer because the old one got Frankensteined and just didn't make it. Went the the scratch 'n' dent room. 400 smackers off!
Love a good deal.
Wishing you a wonderful day. Cheers, Ivy.
Thanks dear. We bought our dryer for 99.00 as it was a return to Home Depot. It had never been turned on, the new owner just didn't like it.
DeleteThat is an amazing deal you scored. I LOVE IT!
DeleteThinking of you and behind you 100000%, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you April.
DeleteKim, I know you can do this. I try and keep track of no spend days. Unlike many people bills, groceries and fuel for the car/truck are classed as spend days. The day I get our biweekly allowances out I consider them spent as well. If I don't spend then it is a no spend day and I give myself a pat on the back.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I try to do the same thing. As in yesterday I spent the last of my cash on stamps!
DeleteYou can do it Kim! I did it September so I didn’t have to dip into savings for an expensive auto repair. We can do hard things! I would love to see a picture of the aprons when you’re done making them.
ReplyDeleteWell, I am going to have a giveaway so put your name in my friend!
DeleteThis only one payment a month is hard to manage but I'm slowly get the hang of it. However, I took need to watch and track the little things I put on the cc and pay at the end of the month. I've been just tucking the contract funds aside as I know I'll have a big tax bill. Once that's done, then I'll know more what I really earned in extra.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard when you are alone. Everything falls on you!
DeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteYou can do this. I do the same thing with one credit card and pay off each month. Are you using a cash back card? My no fee Mastercard with citi pays 1% when you charge and 1% when you pay. I save it up all year and use in December. Just a thought. Sue in MN
No I use an airline card as I love to travel. Like Sissie gets a free ticket on our next trip!
DeleteYou've got this Kim!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori, I know I can do it, I just don't want to not spend money!
DeleteDance, dance dance, sew sew, kiss babies, kiss babies kiss babies, piano practice, garden, SEW SEW SEW. Thank you Father for all the stuff.
ReplyDeleteThat is my life in a nut shell.
DeleteAh, you are but one emergency wedding dress alteration from being in the black again. I am sure there is someone nearby who needs something done quickly and will be willing to pay well to get it done.
ReplyDeleteYou are a mind reader. Just had a phone call for a wedding dress due out in two weeks! Yeah for me.
DeleteI remove 1/3rd of our income directly into savings and CDs At Ally. Then I pay the bills but I know pretty much what the out flow is. I divide the "spending" by 4 weeks and that's all we can spend in a week. The electric bill went up $25 last month, so we didn't spend $25 to cover it.
