Tuesday, Sissie struggles

Poor Sissie here she stands so poised and knowledgeable. I am rarely poised.  The knowledgeable part it left for discussion. But she is struggling to learn the ropes of more difficult tailoring.  It takes time and you get faster and faster. Boy, have we had some laughs.

The shop is full, full and Sissie is a little slow. It is aggravation for her as she is normally so good and quick at everything. She will get better; I keep telling her this, but I don't think she believes me.

I have many things to do today.  A bride came in for her fitting, and the dress is due out tomorrow. I need to adjust the lining and everything else is hand work.  I started another antique wedding dress yesterday and I just got it ripped, I need to call bride for another consultation and fitting on that.

But in the meantime, Kim needs to get to work. As in produce something.  Kim also needs to go to the store.  I am out of milk and bread and assorted other things. Ate leftover pizza last night that Sissie made Sunday. I did take some chicken legs out to roast for this evening.

So, I am making a list today as I feel like I need to push myself a little or maybe a lot!

1. Finish wedding dress
2. call bride about fitting
3.put a patch on a uniform
4.hem a pair of pants
5. shorten sleeves on a jacket
6. hem and peg a pair of pants
7. shorten sleeves on a coat and take in back seam
8.  Alter a top at the back, the sleeves and the neckline
9. put a buttonhole on a coat, and alter the neckline
10. call several people for pick up

That is enough and I will probably not get through it today.  But I will try.

I am determined to go get groceries, go to the gym, go get dogfood, and practice the piano tonight, as last night I just vegged.

My joy for the day is watching Sissie struggle, not the struggle part but the laughter when she screws up. Oh, such fun, mostly for me.  I am the evil twin

Anything bringing you joy today?

God is good
Kim

  1. SUNSHINE brings me joy. It is cold, but the sun is shining.
I think you need a veg night now and then. You both seem to think you are indestructible -when you get down and you sick you'll see you aren't! Just saying!

    1. I wish the sun would shine more here. We are locked in our normal winter fog. But we did have one unusual week of sunshine so I will take it.

  2. You have the most wonderful relationship with your sister & I am rather envious - I never had a sister & it was the one thing I wanted most in all the world when I was growing up. I would've traded my brother happily - though all my friends used to say to me "you can have my sister for free". I hope you have a great day Kim & Sissie xx

  6. Bringing me joy today is getting a call from our youngest son and setting up a new weekend to go and visit. Also I managed to get the loom warped, dressed and have started weaving.

    God bless.

  7. I got a lot done today, and as much as I hate housework, I must admit getting things done does bring me joy.

  8. This must be her mild-mannered alter ego. Perhaps if she put on her pink Batwoman suit it might help? Lol

  9. Just the thought that God blessed us with another day. That’s great that Sissy is learning how to sew and help in your shop. She sure is good to you and vice versa.
