Yes, I can no longer avoid the cleaning. The garden is done. I found a pumpkin plant when I went to buy a hose last night. I have no excuses this house needs a spring clean.
We had a nice time with Lil sis's dinner after her courthouse wedding. I love Mexican food. Came home and finished bunding a baby quilt for a client and practiced the piano for an hour. Then went to bed. I was able to get a wedding dress ready for a try on yesterday, and pile of clothes ready for a client on one day notice.
I had a phone call from local police to fix some uniform ranks, and of course he needs them today. Men they are the worst for waiting to get things done I swear. Got to love them though. When said officer gets here, I have chores for him. I have some heavy things to move around in the garage. 😇
I actually started to spring clean the master bath and bedroom. I have things moved off dressers, so I can give furniture a good dust and polish. I have scrubbed the grout on the bathroom floor, and what a difference. Took down all the decorative things and towels in master bath to wash and I have a large pot of murphys oil soap water ready to scrub the cupboards when I am done with this blog. After I finish bathroom, I will continue on bedroom. It should not take too long to finish up. Maybe a half hour to 45 minutes. I am setting a time for 15-minute intervals. It keeps me motivated.
Segue: I have had 6 people in here in the last hour. Clients lined up. June weddings are upon us. Blessed with work. Police patches done.
I need to finish lengthening an Indian (American) dance dress, and I have 4 pairs of pants to hem before I start on hemming bridesmaid dresses. I would like to get at least 4 done today. I just don't want things piling up and causing stress.
What do you mean I think I live on stress.
But I am now going to scrub the bathroom cupboards.
Have any of you started spring cleaning? Do you spring clean? If so what have you done?
Onward and upward!
Have a great and productive day?
God is good
Kim
I feel like I could CLEAN something everyday. I just choose not to lol.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a great motto!
DeleteI have started spring cleaning, however you might say I am off to a slow start.
ReplyDeleteI could not believe how long it took me to do what I did! Here is Kim underestimating the amount of work she has set out for herself.
DeleteI was waiting for an interview to start this morning, and I looked up & saw *so* much dust on the top of the blinds. So, that will need to go on the to do list. I need to get through this week first, which is turning out to be a giant PITA. - Hawaii Planner
ReplyDeleteOh my does it have something to do with a child?
DeleteAll I have left to do for spring cleaning are the drapes in the front of the house. Tomorrow is supposed to be decent so those will be finished tomorrow. Or at least I hope to finish spring cleaning tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I am so jealous!
DeleteI have done a ton of deep cleaning - but it really never ends. That darned old dust keeps coming back!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just want it done so I can ignore it for a long while and let it build back up!
DeleteI love the little funny at the top Kim - it is very true!!! I do spring clean but not as much as I used to do as I tend to do more throughout the whole year here now.
ReplyDeleteI am great at ignoring dust and grime. I just pick up a lot.
DeleteI do not spring clean. I grew up having to scrub Mom's house ceiling to floor every damn March/April. I swore I would never! I clean what appears to need cleaning as life moves on.
ReplyDeleteGood for you. I am not that devoted, as they used to be back in the day!
DeleteI failed to mention, that house I spring cleaned every damn year? 3500sf!!! My home of 34 years (and forever), is 1650sf. Ooofda!
ReplyDeleteWell I have 1680 and it is just right for me. I remember the larger homes I lived in and egads. When we had a wood fireplace as a kid for heat it was so hard come spring.
DeleteIn case you didn't see it, I'm from Lewiston, too. I commented again to yesterday's post.
ReplyDeleteWell what do you know! How nice to have a reader that lives here. I would love to meet you. It would be very incognito... Like join me for a diet coke at MC D's. I could have a red balloon, and you could wear a large flower so we would know who is who.
DeleteCould happen. I am thinking of being in Lewiston on the Sunday and/or Monday of Memorial Day. On my way home from decorating family graves in eastern Oregon. I would buy you a Diet Coke even if it wasn't on the $1 menu.
DeleteI’ve been washing windows and cleaning blinds.
ReplyDeleteSue in MN
I have to wash windows and I am hoping the brother in law will help!
DeleteOne year, I was at Mama's house. The closets were spilled out everywhere. When she said she was spring cleaning, I said I never did spring cleaning. She said, "No, you just move ever six months or so." My ex could never last as a minister anywhere.
ReplyDeleteThat happens. The world especially a congregation is not kind to people who are even a little bit different. Not what the Savior taught.
DeleteOh my gosh, that duck has my hairdo
ReplyDeleteMine too! Now why can't I get a man!!!!!
