Monday, Late post, Kim is tired

We have the kids here today and I have gotten nothing done.  House is a disaster, but mom will pick them up and I will clean it up.

Another bride dress in today.  And more coming in, in the next couple of days.  It is crazy, I keep thinking it will slow down but it doesn't.

We had a good time with the kids on Saturday, but there were very few food booths, so we ended up eating hot dogs, which when you are hungry are quite good.

Sunday, we did the missionary loop which got us home at 7:30 intime for Signe' to drop off the kids as she had an early day.

Up this morning and made pancakes for the crew.  Grandpa took Schmill's fishing.  Kelsa has a runny nose and is more clingy than usual. So, I am getting little done.  She is finally napping.

I did finish a wedding dress and the two flower girl dresses last Friday.  I am going to steam them tonight and I have to make the father a tie so will get that done.

Tomorrow will be piles and more dresses.

I did not feel like I got any rest this weekend and I hate to start the week tired but here I am.

I had to get all of Hub's fishing tackle tied before he left, his hands shake so bad now he cannot tie small knots.  We need to teach the grandsons as soon as they are able.

I am making eggroll in a bowl for dinner as I have three heads of cabbage. We are getting tomatoes and lots of peppers from the garden and a small hand full of green beans every day.  Still fighting squash bugs.  Blasted things. I keep thinking we have them and then two more appear and I find eggs.  But I am going to persevere.  They have to get through their season eventually.

Good friend called as we were coming into town yesterday and had us stop by for a gallon of red raspberries.  Great!  enough for popsicles, smoothies and 2 batches of jam later.  I froze most of them.

This is going to be a busy week with grand kids, and I think Hub's mom may be coming by the end of the week. I don't know how long she will stay.

I gots to find me some pep!

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

  1. You would have to be tired. There is some logic that bypasses me. You are working, yet keeping the grands instead of your daughter having daycare for her children so you can work unfettered.

    1. There is no daycare available until school starts. Plus the kids are fun. Kim likes fun.

  2. You may not have gotten rest - but you had a good time! I kind of agree with Anne above - not sure why you always get the kids to watch - you have a job too!
Sounds like busy season won't stop before fall season! $$$$$

    1. I know the phone rings and there are texts every morning for more brides. It is nice crazy!

  3. Nice gift of raspberries from the friend. I'm getting just a handful a day. Kelsa sure seems like she's unwell a lot when you have her. I hope you haven't caught something and that's part of your tiredness. I'm trying to understand that you put your kids before you as you love those little ones but no one wins if you're unwell too.

    1. Oh, I hope not. My Lil sis had her daughter in law stop by to spend the night and the daughter had covid and now the 10-month-old baby has it and they are all quarantined. There are no guarantees any more.

  4. How about when you keep the kids, she stays an extra hour to whiz her young energy through the house to get things back to order? I would like to tell her that she can ride a good horse to death. What happened to hiring the teen to watch kids so you can work?

What does the missionary loop involve? What do you do? When we went to my mother's house, I had to argue with her to keep her from doing too much. She was against me helping. But, I got the kids to help, too. Of course, at Kelsa's age, kids are no help, just work.

    1. We drive about 200 miles round trip to visit missionary apartments and make sure they are well cared for, as the church pays the rent and these kids are 18 and 19.

  5. Tell your daughter jury convicted of manslaughter. We were ok with that. My house is an absolute wreck but that is not unusual. I am a dreadful housekeeper. Cindy in the South
