Tuesday, Motivation needed

For some reason I just get in these moods where I don't want to get anything done.  Does this ever happen to any of you?

You know when you own your own business you really have to stay motivated.  There is no one there to set your timer.

I did no sewing yesterday, although I had work come in.  Kelsa was a fuss and clingy. But I enjoyed all the snuggles.

I did get the house and kitchen nice and clean after the kids left, so I did accomplish something.

This morning I used up the last two peaches, and two plums, one banana, and a cup of raspberries to make hubs and I smoothies and they were very good.

Remember that we had to eat the chicken last night so egg roll in a bowl tonight.  Need to run out and check the green beans.

I think the only way I am going to get anything done today is to make a list.  Maybe that will inspire me.  I am not sure if it will work?  Just have such a case of the I don't want to do anythings.....

1. press flower girl dresses

2. press bride dress

3. make a tie It is cut out

4. hem and put zipper in camo clothes

5. hem pants

6. hem jeans

7. hem pants and alter or rebuild a shirt

8. put lining in dress

9. call bride for pick up

10. take in and hem dress

11. take in pants

12. alter a mother of the bride

13. start on another wedding dress (last August dress)

The September dresses are coming in. One yesterday, one today and one tomorrow, plus the 8 that are already in the shop.  Staying a month, a head seems to help with the flow.  But I think I am just tired of sewing.

I did make a nail appointment tonight so that is something to look forward to, I guess.

Do any of you ever just not want to work?

What do you do about it?

Need motivation....

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

  1. I feel that way waaaayyyyy more than I care to admit. It is just hard sometimes to motivate. You work so much and so hard, I imagine it all gets old from time to time. Hmmm, maybe it is vacation time again!

    1. Yeah, I think I have been on a dead run when I am at home since the end of February, and I am just tired of the rat race. But I will perservere.

  2. I just spent two hours in meetings and two hours with nose in statutes so feeling drained. As playing for 10 minutes on blogger gives me a mental break, I'll be able to plow through another couple hours. But, stuff at home? No motivation. I'm hoping we get the promised rain so I can defend a book tonight rather than yard work.

    1. I feel for you and know exactly how you feel. I look forward to hand work so I can watch TV while I do it. But so much of it is tied to the machine.

  3. The total lack of enthusiasm hits me regularly…I make a list like you do…then say I will do a certain number of items…and then I sit down and do nothing useful. Eventually I figure if I do them now, they will be done, so off I go. It is really hard to get excited about a lot of the things on my to do list :(. Hilogene in Az

  4. I have been in the doldrums lately and have no real desire to get out of them, so I am the wrong one to ask about motivational advice.

  5. Sometimes it feels like I'm a kid again, promising mom I 'll do my homework as soon as I'm done with whatever I'm goofing off doing. Of course, now my homework doesn't get done.

    1. You know if I was there, I would come and help you clean that house, as we would have so much to laugh about. It would be fun just the two of us, bitching and cleaning.

  7. Don't look to me for motivation. I am in a bad mood because I was deprived of sleep once more because of a no show while I waited and then someone who kept me waiting for a promised call. So, now so strung out, I cannot sleep at all. Once I reach a certain point of tiredness, I might go days without sleep!

When you are so far behind, you cannot see the end, you will get frantic and work, motivated or not. Right? I have been there.

  8. Hello there! I am right there with you, my friend. Flynn had art lessons and tennis today, and she spent the morning with Madison, so I had all intentions of beginning homeschool planning! Well, guess who showered and then proceeded to sit on the couch watching a movie? I have to be in the mood these days. Maybe it is the heat! Hugs from PA!
