I think I spend the majority of my life actin like I am okay, how about you guys? Ever feel like you are acting like you are okay. It is okay to act like you are okay... okay enough.
Did nothing yesterday but had a good nap. Did not need a nap. Needed to sew. I took missionaries out to dinner along with my buddies and then had book club, which is always fun even if the book was bad. Love all the girls in the club.
Today I am going to run to Sissies to help her as long as the rain holds off. Then she will come stand over me tomorrow to make sure I get somethings done before my mother-in-law comes to stay on Sunday. She has not been here since Joel's funeral.
Was this week frugal? Well yes in that I did not spend any money foolishly. But I did not bring in much money either. I was able to scrape a little from my budget. I just have to do better.
1. I did get one of my 2 little bills paid
2. only had 2 no spend days
3.ate out once as planned
4. bought no groceries
5. wanted to get 3 wedding dresses done only one done
6. still have one bridesmaid to do out of 6 so that is better
7. only have 3 of the 9 pairs of pants done that I wanted done
8. only have $400 to put toward tax bill
9. my yard needs mowed in a bad way
I must say it was a lack luster week. My fault entirely, but Sissie is coming tomorrow to rectify the situation. When I get in these slumps she is here. Thank goodness. Kim is slumping.
Kim is going to slump om over to Sissies for some love.
Hey, how about you did you get any goals completed this week? What do you do when you slump?
Let's form a club. Slumpers are us United!
Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in a slump.
God is good.
Kim
Some weeks really are just harder. My house is circa 1972 and we just had to replace a lot of appliances that we first had installed in 2001. I'm gobsmacked how much emotion I can feel for the new dryer that actually has heat, and the refrigerator that doesn't freeze things in the back and ruin the veggies (frozen cucumbers are a travesty). We were living like hillbillies, but now we are FANCY. Lol
ReplyDeleteAppliances deserve love, too, lol. I have felt strong emotions akin to love for mechanical things.
DeletePractical Parsimony
YEs a new appliance after fighting an old one is the meaning of love.
DeleteSome weeks are better than others - there is always tomorrow. And if there isn't - then it doesn't matter! You got this, just give yourself a pep talk!!!!
ReplyDeleteI did and Saturday was all pep!
DeleteI made moderate progress this week. Taught a really hard class unit that I wasn't looking forward to. Got everything organized for Nick's graduation poster (must make it so I can drop it off at the school by Monday). Did some light house keeping. Hosted two pool parties for Nick's friends. Worked out. Stressed out why I haven't heard back on any jobs. The usual. - Hawaii Planner
ReplyDeleteSissie and I were just talking about your situation. We really feel for you and your husband. But something will turn up, I know it will.
DeleteToday was my slump day. The emotional toll of the last four weeks hit me. After ear doctor, getting a few groceries, mowing the lawn, and making a pot of soup was done, I literally did nothing but curl up in a ball watching YouTube. Later I got new paperwork done for subbing but didn't go to a visitation/ celebration of life for an old neighbor of my parents, and didn't accept going for dinner with family. I'm staying home until Sunday too. We're allowed Kim. Right? I'll join your club.
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes I just want to be left to me. Just me.
DeleteI've been in a slump funk. Can I be Sgt at Arms of the Slump society?
ReplyDeleteYou sure can!
DeleteWe’ve been in a slump too where our yard is concerned. ::sigh:: It would help if it stopped raining so much here. I’m glad you have Sissie to help you.
ReplyDeleteYard are particularly hard.
DeleteI would love to join your club. Gets old pretending all is ok. Karen
ReplyDeleteI know! It is okay to not be okay. Go eat a donut.
DeleteI definitely act ok but I am definitely not ok. I will join your club! Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteSee I knew there were many of my kind out there.
DeleteHi Kim, I have copied your meme and sent off to my friends, it is perfect! And true.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone heard from Linda of practical parsimony? She hasn’t written in over a week and I am getting concerned. I can’t post on her blog due to my own idiot technical deficiencies ;). Hilogene in Az
She is fine, just having computer issues.
DeleteOh, I had a good week in that I found supplies for my fledgling home business at a discount. I did substitute teach this week, so I will have a bit of money come in from that. The supplies from the grocery store took half the money I had for it. I still have to shop for meat, veg, and fruit.
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you God for what I have, and for what has come in. Help me LORD to be careful with what you provide. In Jesus' name I ask it for myself and the ladies here as well.
Laura
Thanks Laura. I really need money to come in this week.
DeleteYou are lucky to have someone to help you out of your slump.
ReplyDeleteI am Sissie is a blessing.
DeleteEveryone gets in a slump or a funk as I call it. There is nothing wrong with doing nothing some times. Your mojo will come back.
ReplyDeletePlease tell that to Sissie!
DeleteI often spend hours doing absolutely nothing. It gets me ready to spend hours actually doing something. Nothing at all wrong with that.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
