Thursday, where are these people coming from?

The cheeks! She really looks like Braunwyn here. Sorry this blog will be baby heavy for a while as this grandma is just a little proud. Don't you just want to nom on those cheeks? I am surprised she has any left.

I have just discovered while I was taking down 4th of July decor that I usually leave up through Labor day, that my house is dirty.  As in is needs a thorough deep clean and I don't want to do it.  I mean I really don't want to period!

The shop has put up some kind of bat signal saying, "BRING THINGS HERE". I mean in the last three days the sluice gates have opened and I am overwhelmed.

Gaylord is coming to take me to lunch, and I have a pile of things to finish today.

1. a wedding dress

2. hem a pair of pants

3. hem three pairs of pants

4. put a zipper in a jacket

5. go to hobby lobby for zippers

I will proceed after lunch. I have a real attitude today, maybe because I skipped my meds yesterday and that makes me irritable. Not that I don't set a timer to help me remember to take the meds. I just ignored it so no one to blame but myself. I don't like it when I have to blame myself.

So, my next question is how long the ironing will stay in the middle of the family room? I sprayed a dirty glass cupboard door and then let the thing dry without wiping it. There are about ten 1/2 to 1/4 done jobs all over the house and I don't care.  I am trying so hard to care, but nothing seems to be moving me.

Jethelyn is coming and believe me she will care.... This is a dilemma.

Tune in tomorrow to see if Kim will get an attitude change, or will she be just as ornery as she is today.

God is good

Wednesday, Grandma is back!

Kelsa is in love. She truly believes that Lucy was born for her 6th birthday present.
As in Lucy is her very own baby doll.  It is so cute.

I spent a week with the kids and am now home.  Lucy eats every two hours so a lot of interrupted sleep, but Braunwyb seems to be doing well. I hated to come home, and I miss holding her every day.

She is back up to her birthweight and gaining. So far, she has been a really good baby, knock on wood!

The shop is busy as usual. I have a wedding dress due out Friday, that I have not started.  Actually, two left for September then onto October.  I thought the shop was slowing down, actually secretly wishing.  Not the case. Drat!

Jethelyn is coming this weekend to see Lucy, and I am excited to see her and the boys.

Kay has not been here all week as she is trying to catch up at her place. She will have a lot to do when she gets back.

Does anyone have any plans for Labor Day weekend? The last big hurrah before we all start drinking pumpkin spice and donning sweaters. Well not here as it will still be in the 90's.

There is a fencing guy working on the fence repair here. Still not holding my breath!

Have a great and productive day!

God is good

Tuesday, Lucy is here!

Look at all that hair!!! She has the Korbel hair! B went into hospital last night about 8:30 and she was born this morning at 6:15.

Weight 6 lbs. 10 oz. Length 19 inches. Name Lucy Valentine Korbel. So proud of my girls.

I am all in a dither!

Worked hard yesterday and finished up two gowns and then almost done with third. I will finish this morning. I also have two other bridesmaid dresses to finish up.  It is going to be a little crazy as I have a bride picking up tomorrow at 4 and I don't know when B will be sent home. Luckily, she is just 28 miles away so I may be running up and down the hill for a few days. But that is okay.

Had a bridesmaid practically faint on me yesterday. She came in with this beautiful spring green full ballgown. She was a teeny tiny little thing. It was layers and layers of tulle which just needed to be cut. I was just finishing up the last layer, and she asked for a drink of water. I looked up at her and she was going down. Grabbed her and she was able to step off the fitting box, and I managed to get her into my sewing chair before she passed out. She was only really out for less than a minute and I told her to keep her head between her legs. I ran and got a bottle of water, then when she was more stable, I got a wet washcloth, stripped the dress off her to the waist as she was starting to drip with sweat. She told me she was a dentist and she had a rough morning and had not eaten.  This was about 1:00 in the afternoon.

So here she is hunched over in this beautiful dress, naked on top and I am wiping her down with a damp cold cloth. Finally, she quit sweating so profusely and I redressed her.  Then made her drink a protein drink and we finished up. She was so embarrassed, but after laying on the sofa with her feet up for 15 minutes she was good to go. She is not the first I have had go down in a fitting, but it is always nerve racking. Told her to call me when she got back to the office. I just really felt bad for her. But the dress was beautiful.

So today I am going to finish up a few things around here and take stock of who I need to call.

I love the scrunch phase of grandma hood. Actually, all phases are nice.

God is very good

Monday, SO much to do!

I am in the burn everything down phase today.

Braunwyn just called and she is dilated to a 3-4 and they swept the membranes. So, I need to panic and get busy. Luckily, I started 3 wedding dresses Thursday and Friday. My goal today is to get all three done as much as possible that only leaves one left for Sept. That one is due the 24th and I can call and let her know where and when I will return.

School starts for All three local grandchildren on Wednesday. If B is in the hospital, I will be on grandma duty and very busy getting kids to lessons and such. We are just waiting for the call which is THUNDERCATS GO!!

Called and talked to Dan (Sluggy's husband) this morning and it is not at all good. Slugs has not walked in over 8 months and has lost the use of her hands in much of their capacity. She has had so many setbacks, and they really don't know what is wrong.  Some type of a severe Parkinsons condition, but the greatest effect is on her digestive system, and constant nausea and getting sick.  She now weigh's what I weigh, so she is really weak.

Dan is a great cheerleader and support, but at this point Slugs is giving up.  She has been too sick for too long.  I am angry, hurt and I want to find someone to blame, but I know that is unrealistic. Constant pain is her friend and then adding the lack of muscle strength and the digestive problems, one can hardly blame her. Dan is willing to accept her wishes. Her life has been one trip to the emergency room and hospitals now for almost a year. Although some progress gets made, it is knocked out by the next trip to the hospital. All we can do at this point is pray for whatever God wills, and I am having a very, VERY hard time with that.

I can hardly type this post.

God is good and I know in my heart he will relieve my friend in the way he sees best for her good.

Wednesday, I don't want to.

I have a terrible case of the I don't want tos. The dress that is due out tomorrow is this form fitting slinky satin dress that is hard to work on.  You can't make a mistake as it will show in the fabric. Of course it is a full-blown alteration. I have to take in the bust area and waist and hips. Then hem the layers and put boning back in and bustle.  I got the dang thing ripped yesterday but I just don't want to do it.

Too bad I am the boss and there is no one else. I just had an easier dress picked up and that always feels good.  But I can and will due this.

Although I knew I was in denial mode this morning as I took a load out of the dryer that had been there for three days.  I pulled all the extra hangers out of the closet and took them to the overflowing ironing basket. I culled a few items from the closet to take to good will. I thought about watering early and I really do need to pick green beans. Anything to keep from actually doing what needs to be done.

I am a master of avoidance mode.  Even the ironing basket looks good to me right now!

So, when I get like this (and it seems to be happening more often) I just tell myself one seam at a time. Get one side done at a time, now hem one layer and then the next. Finally press and bustle and that is exactly what I will do today. But I don't want to.

What do you do when you just don't want to do something?

God is good

Tuesday, TIme is flying!

I don't know where yesterday went and I forgot to post Thursday's blog post. Kim should not have been taken off her ADHD meds due to her heart. That is all I can say.

I am worried sick about Slugs after reading Anne's post. I must call and get the news whether good or bad.

I have 4 wedding dresses to get done this week. Last week was a nightmare but I made it through.

Braunwyn was dilated to two yesterday so maybe bay will come sooner than later. Jethelyn is still having problems with her death threat client. He just will not give up harassing her even though his sentence gets longer and longer. Kids you love them and then assume their problems.

I spent Saturday with Gaylord and it was lovely. He is coming to take me to lunch today when I should be sewing.  That man is a distraction I tell you.

Sissie is starting to do harder stuff in the shop which is lovely for me. But I really need to focus this week. I focused like crazy last week.

Have a dress pick up tomorrow and one on Thursday so I need to get my but to the machine.

Have a great and productive day!  Haven't said that in a long time, but I need to start saying it every day.

God is good

Kim.

Wednesday, So proud to me!

I was a busy beaver yesterday and sewed until about 3:30. I was able to get 4 dresses done and the pressing about killed me. In fact, I still have one dress to iron. Boo hoo.  These three layer chiffon dresses are no joke.

Gaylord worked so hard on the lawn yesterday and it looks so good. The lawn people spread new seed and new fertilizer and then set the sprinkler system for 6 times a day for short intervals. I am just going to watch for dry spots, although my system has really good coverage.

Signe' spent the night last night and we had some really good laughs. In fact, my stomach muscles are sore this morning from laughing.

The foreman for the cow debacle txt back that he was in court. I wondered if it was for cow trouble elsewhere. So, it looks like Nate and I will be visiting the owner in person. This should be fun.

I would really like to get to a wedding dress today after all it is Wednesday. I must finish pressing a dress and then hem a huge formal with horsehair braid before I start on a wedding dress, but I do have at least two that I would like to make progress on by Friday.

Kim will need to be disciplined. Not something I am good at.

Hey get to work! That is my new motto!

God is good

Tuesday, One day blends

I can't really think of any toxic thoughts right off the bat, but I can come up with several strategies not to get anything done.

Yard man and the spray company met with me yesterday and they are going to come and hand seed and fertilize after the lawn is mowed really short.  Gaylord will come today and mow lawn down to a nub.  If this does not work, they will dig it up put down new topsoil and start again.  All I can think of is the time and water wasted.  Water is so expensive here.

I sent the foreman a nasty gram this morning about the fence if no action Nate and I will be going to the farmers house for a discussion. Isn't my life exciting? Not!!!!

Yesterday I was lazy, I just needed a day but today I will have to produce something. The shop was very busy yesterday. I was just not busy in-between clients. Braunwyn came and took the kids to the pool about 2 and then Signe' came by after her shift at the free clinic. She was supposed to work until 2:30 but they kept her there until 4:30. So many people need dental work, and they pack in as many as they can and then get behind. She knew this was the scenario. We always prepare for a late shift.

I just went out and did poop patrol and then picked up all the dried cattle poop from two weeks ago. Just think the pioneers burned that stuff.

I picked a rather large bowl of green beans on Sunday and then the kids ate all of them raw.  All I could say is well at least they will be regular.

Today I have to fix a fox stole for the tribe which is rotten and I don't know if it can be fixed.  It is part of a ceremonial dance dress.  The things I get myself into. Then I have 4 bridesmaid/mother of the bride dresses to alter before I start on wedding dresses.

Let's see how much I can get done!

Joel's sister called and the lawyer has been paid her final bill on mom's estate, and we should receive our chicks within the week. It has taken a long time to settle.

Well wish me luck today. I really need to produce.

God is good

Monday, So tired...

This is my feeling for today.  It is terribly smokey here as usual for this time of year.  That does not bode well for us asthmatics. I had a dull headache Friday and then a really bd headache Saturday after I worked outside in the smoke. The air index is bad, so inside we stay.  But the smoke makes me tired.

Had both Kelsa and Oliver last night so my sleep was anything but good. Love having them and they play so well together, but it has to be inside because of the air quality. So, it is a little noisy but that is okay.

Lots of last-minute calls today, seems to be that week. I have several dresses to alter and about 4 or 5 wedding dresses for September I will get started on this week. Also, a ton of work for my little person.  No rest for this wicked girl.

Braunwyn is coming down to pick up Oliver and take the kids swimming at Kelly's pool. They can handle to air for a while I cannot.

The grass people are coming back today to discuss the disaster progress of my hydro seeded lawn that is nothing but weeds and very little grass, I have never spent so much time watering and nurturing a mess in my life. The lawn man is in a quandary, so the hydroseed company is coming out also. I have spent a great deal of money and time for a lawn that is all spurge and quack grass. I know they will stand by me, but it is an aggravation.

Tomorrow is that last day for the foreman of the cattle owner to show up and show that he is even going to attempt to fix the fence.  We might be going to court. I really dislike confrontation.

I wish this was a better happier post, but that is where I am right now. Just trying to hold on and get through the day with just a little bit of sunshine.

God is good

Thursday, One more and I am...

One more dress and I am onto September dresses. I am so excited! I feel like I am going to win this race. The shop is ahead of itself this year and I am sure it is because Sissie is helping buy shhh don't tell her.

Gaylord came yesterday and sprayed the property, and he fixed the broken chicken coop, and did a few other honey do jobs. So sweet of him. I was sewing and putting jam away.

Had a bride pick up and she was excited and so happy and that makes me happy. I have another dress ripped and ready, for me to work on today.

Kelsa is here and she is pooping up the place as little girls who are busy playing often do. She paints, and colors, and plays with her dolls. Today she is beading and watching cartoons. She is a busy little bunny.

It is colling off here in the mornings, which is unusual for August so I am not sure what that will bring.  Sissie and I were just out having a break and a cow walked by, so I called the owner to alert him the direction she was going. At least it didn't get into my yard, and it very easily could have as the fence is down by the grape vine. Egad it is always something here.

I am headed to sew the last August dress and I am so happy.  Sissie and I are also going to clean out the freezers today!

Have a great day, do something fun, cleaning is not fun.  I mean something fun!

Wednesday, Now I am behind!

Ha ha like that is going to happen. I did get over 45 jars of jam made in various sizes. Mostly 8 oz. jars. Now the kitchen is kind of a mess and needs a good clean but that is going to wait until I catch up!

I need to finish a wedding dress today that I wanted to finish yesterday and I have several bridesmaid dresses to get done. Kelsa is coming to spend the night, and I am just in general disorganized mood.

But I will put my nose to the grindstone and probably just have a really sore nose.

But the jam is done and that was a project that needed to be done, I also did a little cleaning of the freezer, not as much as I wanted but enough so it is not overflowing every time you open it.

Now onto betting this sewing done, I can do it, I have to do it. I will not allow myself to get overwhelmed. Overwhelmed happened a long time ago. Maybe years ago.

Sissie is over at the ironing working away and that brings me joy and peace. As in somebody is getting something done. Hurrah!

Now I am going to get to work!!!!

God is good

Tuesday, I'm jammin'

I don't know if jam making is silly or frivolous, but it does make me happy and the house smells delicious.

I have two batches cooked and probably 4 more to go maybe 5.

It was time as I had a couple of gallons of berries in my neighbor's freezer and at least 4 gallons in mine.  They needed to come out.

I have had 2 brides here already for fittings and another will show in about a 1/2 an hour. Then I must get to Wal mart for more jam supplies. After I get the jam, all done, I will do a ton of hand work on a wedding dress. I can do all the hand work while i process several batches of jam in the pressure canner. I am still trying to complete my goal of having a dress done before I go to bed.

I spent the morning organizing and paying bills, and now that is out of the way for the month.

I was pleased that the bride I fit this morning, was accurate as it was a huge alteration on a used dress.  But it fit like a glove and now I have to cut out the extra and get the lining put back together, plus we redesigned the sleeves and I will need to get those done and put on, then reattach bottom lace and bustle. It is a major job.

My second bride today was a girl that took her dress to someone that did not know what she was doing and it is a small mess. but I will be able to fix it.

The third is just measurements to order online.  So that is easy until the dress comes in, we will see.

I am almost ready to start on the September dresses.  Still a little behind but not horrible. Hope to catch up this week or the first part of next week.  I have a huge pile of alterations for my little person and Sissie is afraid of those, and actually so am I.

But I was very proud of Sissie yesterday as she attacked a large pile of rather difficult clothes and she knocked them all out! She is getting braver.

I simply must call and find out how the Slugs is doing so I can report back to you all.

Have a great day!

God is good

Monday, New week, new goals!

A picture of all the Lucies!  Braunwyn is in the home stretch and she is getting uncomfortable. We are in the count down now. Went up to celebrate Oliver's 6th birthday.  I can't believe it has been 6 years.

We are really struggling with this new lawn I had put in.  It seems to be all weeds as in spurge and whatever else wants to grow. There is grass but it is hard to see. I think the lawn guy is at his wits end. But he will stand behind his product thank goodness.

Then on Friday the neighbors' cows broke out, and one yearling got into my yard and di a ton of damage. It is always something. Nothing has walked on this lawn for 5 weeks and then a cow comes in and does the hokey pokey. SO frustrating. He also hit the chicken coop and broke it, so I had chicken ranging free. Always excitement at this place.

I am up to my eyebrows in wedding dresses and just sick to death of them.

Poor Jess was boarding a plane out of Atlanta when she got the call of a mass shotting in Twin Falls. So, she is up in the air with that tragedy.   When your kids are in pain you are in pain and there is nothing, you can do but pray.

Sissie is here sewing away, and I am messing around which I do so well. I should have majored in messing around or opened a messing around shop.

Gaylord and I had a nice dinner on Saturday and we talked and talked.  He is finally opening up about his wife's death. He never mentions her at all, which I find odd.  But is has been almost 14 years. Anyway, he is buying a classic car, which he is excited about, and I think that is really funny. He is very reserved and it seems so out of character for him. I think I may be a good (?) influence.

Anyway, got a dress ripped and ready to go so now you know my days plans. What are you guys going to do?

God is good

Kim

Thursday, where have I been?

Here is a picture of Signe' and Kelsa backstage during Mid-Summer Nights Dream. This was taken last spring, but I just received it. They had to stay very quiet backstage. I think Signe' played peas blossom and Kelsa was a baby fairy. She would get more tired as the show went on and always ended up asleep in her mom's arms at curtain call. But she loved being on stage.

What had I been doing? I really don't know. I have been sewing and it seems that I have clients at the time I usually blog, so I get behind with my day and then I don't sit down and so the thing.

Also, Signe' was so sick last week with food poisoning. She was with me for almost 4 days. She ended up in the care center on I.V.'s It caused a bacterium in her gut, so ended up on antibiotics. That just took a lot out of me. Let's not talk about came out of her....

Then I went to Braunwyn's to set up her closet nursery. I was there for two days. It went together pretty easy; it was organizing the clothes that took time.

Here is a picture as you look into the closet. The little swing will be out in the front room when the baby uses it.

Here is the changing table I purchased off of Facebook marketplace. Braunwyn loved it. We destroyed the house getting this done and I think I spent more time cleaning up the mess we made than actually working on the nursery. It was fun!  We have a month to go now and this grandma is excited!

How is sewing going you ask? Blah! I am getting really tired of sewing and that is not a mature attitude when you run a shop as busy as mine. But I will persevere, because that is what I do.

Went out to a nice dinner with Gaylord on Tuesday night and met his brother and sister-in-law.  They are lovely people. I think they are a little shocked that he has some kind of relationship as he has been single for 13 years. We are going to get together this weekend for dinner here. I will get to pull something out of my overstuffed freezer.

I would like to get a wedding dress done today and start on another. Still have August dresses to do but I think I am down to 1 or 2. Then onto the September.  I have to get those done before the baby comes. THAT SHOULD HELP WITH MY MOTIVATION WHICH HAS BEEN IN THE TOILET!!!!!!

So, what has been going on in blog land? Anything good or bad. Do I want to hear the bad? Of course I do. We must all cry together.

The machines are calling...

God is good

Wednesday, Sissie is a smarty pants

Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's post. No thanks to Sissie who was reading the Albertson's app and was discussing the .99 chicken special. WE HAVE NO ROOM IN THE FREEZERS!!!!! I think she might be doing a little cleaning in the future.

Anyway, I did get the garden weeded late yesterday afternoon, I also sprayed for hornets.SO those two things are off the list.  I can only sew for so many hours before my back gives out and then it is on to something else.

I did get two wedding dresses started yesterday, I will finish one today and the pickup is Friday. I also have a bride coming into place the lace I spent time removing yesterday. That will have to be hand tacked on today. Then I plan on starting another one this afternoon.

I have a huge pile of little person alterations, which are always difficult and Sissie is afraid of and I don't blame her.

Signe' called yesterday and had missed work due to a stomach virus. Nate brought her down last night as she thought she could go to work today. Nothing doing, as she was sick most of the night. SO, the master bedroom is off limits. She is weak and sleeping. I will be going in there with long rubber gloves and sterilizing the place after she recovers. I think she thought she was over whatever she had.....

I am a little headachy today, but it cannot be Signe' as I wasn't exposed, plus she thinks she ran into some bad sushi. The rest of her family is fine.

Just had the bride come to place lace and now I am ready to get to work and get two more dresses ready and on the to go rack! I think today after the sewing, I will be fertilizing the flowers boxes. Then that will be off the list.  It is the freezers... But I am sure Sissie will help!!!!!!

Anything exciting happening with you? Because my life is so exciting....

God is good

Tuesday,Things todo

This is kind of my motto as I got home from my reunion. I just don't want to do this anymore. It is a very immature attitude, and I am sure the feeling will pass.

Sissie and I had a great time. It was very tiring.  There is nothing I dislike more than saying hi to 100 people but really visiting no one.  Everything is superficial. We both came home exhausted each night. Was it wonderful to see these people? Yes, by all means, but I didn't have a meaningful conversation with more than 2 people. That to me is heartache.

Had a doctor's appointment yesterday to go over all the medical tests, and I seem to be fine, I guess. We switched up some meds. And I will see how that goes.

Sissie is busy behind me getting things done and I am not going to even make any plans about the 15 dresses that hang behind me.  Other than to try and get all the August dresses out of here by the end of the month.

Coming home to watering and chickens and weeds. I spent part of the morning cleaning out the coop and water trays and food bins. Collected 8 eggs for my trouble.  Even though I sprayed a few days before I left, I had to walk around the entire property and spray weeds again. We had a bit of rain while I was gone plus high temps and that makes thing grow.

I have several to do items on a growing list other than sewing. Sewing is 4-5 days a week, but the property is and ongoing everyday struggle.

Things that Kim needs to get done:

1. clean out inside freezer

2. clean out outside freezer

3. weed the garden beds

4. fertilize the flowers boxes and the flower beds

5. spray for hornets

I think I need another me. Well, I have as close to another me as one can possibly get with and identical twin sister, but she won't do anything on this list. Can you imagine that?

Well I am off

God is good

Kim

Thursday, what do I want to do?

Sis and I at B's baby shower.

Today it is more about what I want to do than what should I be doing?  As in wedding dresses be damned Kim needs to get other things done!

Went to my specialist this morning, she and the eye surgeon are worried about my right eye continually developing ulcers.  Well so am I. At this point it is grasping with straws.

But I went to Ulta and bought some waterproof eyebrow pencil as I have no visible eye brows so I look like a pie.  I am tired of taking the time to draw the buggers on and they disappear in 20 minutes.  Hopefully for the price they charged me this stuff will work.

I also went and finally bought new cords to download pictures which I have needed for months. But did I remember to take my cell phone with my I.D. and CC'S? No! I swear I can't get out of the house and get anything done without forgetting something important.

I ran to home depot to return an item and purchase another can of pink spray paint for my Jenny Lind table I am putting in the baby's nursery.

Here is (are) Signe' and Jethelyn dressed as different Lucy's.

Our I love Lucy cookies!

Og course we should show you a picture of the mom to be who is carrying our Lucy.

Here is the changing table I purchased off face book market place that I painted for the new nursery. I will be going up next week to put that together.

I have 5 larger perennials I need to plant out in the flower bed today and some weeding to do outside. Then a big, long list of things that need to be done before I leave tomorrow mostly to do with the yard and watering and the chickens.

The yard company came yesterday and fertilized, and they will not spray all the weeds (which are prolific) until the yard has been mowed three times.  With the😐 marmots I don't know if it will ever need to be mowed.

Anyway, I have taken care of three aggravations, I think. One the eyebrows, two the phone cords, and three getting more spray paint for my table. Now I still have to go cash checks.

I have figured out what I am wearing to my reunion and I need to pack. But gee whiz going out of town for a few days when you are trying to put in a lawn is a pain. So much to do to get ready.

There are 15 wedding dresses in the shop right now, one is done and one is 1/2 done, but when I get back it will be Kim putting her nose to the grindstone for a few weeks. The nice thing is I feel like Sissie's work is pretty caught up and we can breathe a little.

Hey have a great weekend and I will return and report on the reunion!

God is good

Wednesday, Some days!

Yesterday was somewhat of a bust.  I had great intentions and very high hopes but alas, things got in the way.  Plus, the Indian leggings were far more time consuming than I had expected. Kelsa came about noon to stay for a couple of days, and my daughter brought their truck down so we could go pick up a bedroom set we all wanted a piece of for our houses or projects.

Sissie wanted me to come to dinner, and I had to get a few groceries. I did finish the leggings about 5 in the evening.  So, the list went out the window. Oh well today is another day and I am determined to keep going.

I certainly hope to get to these wedding dress's today.

I swear between kids, chickens, marmots and life I get very little done. Or maybe I get a lot done I am not so sure.

What I do know is I have plenty to do and no one is going to do it except me!

What a concept!

Stay tuned I might just get those wedding dresses I planned on getting done on Monday started today!

Tuesday, you would be so proud!

I was busy yesterday. I worked hard and fast. I also said NO!!!! several times. I just told people I was 3-4 weeks out and they would have to wait to bring anything in until then.  I don't want more work in the shop.

I went and did my blood work this morning and as I was getting ready to get into a wedding dress I realized I had 3 more small projects Sissie cannot get to that I will have to get done today. This is why I am saying no!

When you have things crawling out from under the woodwork that you didn't know you had waiting for you it is time to put a halt on things coming into the shop.

Tuesdays are always my busiest phone and things coming in days. So, the phone has been a nuisance with me saying sorry, I am just too busy to take that in right now.

See I am learning, it is a slow process, but I am learning.

The yard man that is doing my lawn stopped by and he said everything looks great in spite of the marmots. It is raining slightly today so I do not have to water unless it starts to heat up later today. I am now using the sprinklers system which makes things much easier on me.

Here is today's list:

1. get blood work done

2. put zippers in antique beaded leggings

3. bind a baby blanket

4. alter a mother of the bride dress

5. hem a pair of pants

6. hem and dart and remove lace on a wedding dress and call client for a fitting.

7. start another wedding dress

8. try and finish up a smaller job on a wedding dress.

9. pay a few bills

We will see how far I get. The wedding dresses need to be my priority and that has not been the case the last 2 days with all the extras that appeared.

But I know I can do this!

Here is to a calm Tuesday... Ha Ha that is never going to happen, but a girl can dream. BY the way said no twice while posting this, the dang phone.

God is good

Monday, busy week ahead!

I think I will be a warning. DO not be like me, do not cross me. Run away from me. Run fast! Faster!!!
I am a woman on a mission. This is almost never a good thing. I will strive to make it a good thing.
Of course, the shop is busy, and it is a short week. I am already a bit overwhelmed and I haven't even started. So, what am I going to do?

Well like all good elephant eaters, I will do this one bite at a time. I just looked at my calendar for fittings, and I have 4 wedding dresses coming in this week. So much for catching up.

I did get everything I need to set up the baby's nursery closet, and I painted the changing table this last weekend. It turned out so cute, but of course have I picked up a cord to download pictures? No! Just one of the many things Kim needs to add to her to do list that never gets to done.

Anyway, let's make a list. I feel like a list will help me today. After all the 3.5 hours of sleep I got last night is not helping my mindset. Sometimes I fight insomnia and it does not make me happy. But a list makes me happy so here goes.

1. put away dishes that are drying on the counter
2. unload the dishwasher and put away
3. fold two loads of laundry that are on the chair in the living room
4. hem three pairs of little boys wedding pants
5. iron three little boy's suits
6. alter mother of the bride dress
7. alter mother of the bribe dress
8. alter a bridesmaid dress
9. alter a bridesmaid dress
10. rip and alter a wedding dress, call bride
11. start on another wedding dress
 12. adjust dress side seams
13. alter a pair of pants and a shirt
14. get blood work done
15 pay some bills
16. call insurance office

That is enough....
Say a prayer, Kim needs it!
