Kim is so tired.  She pushed through a pile of cheer leading uniforms for the school district, there is a tournament on Saturday  and many uniforms did not fit. Then I altered a woman's suit and picked up mesh for a wedding dress I worked on. I am very tired.  Just weary.

The housekeeper for the Catholic Diocese brought in some Vestments that are rotting and I have to figure out a way to reline them.  They are very old and very beautiful.  I worked picking those apart tonight and my eyes are tired.

We had shrimp tacos with salad for dinner.  Hubs worked all day with a group of volunteers from the city on a wheel chair ramp for an older woman.  It took the 4 of them all day to finish and he was bushed when he got home.  He normally cleans the kitchen but I did it as I knew he was just to fatigued.

Daughter came down to teach and we got in a short walk before she left to teach and then I had Kelsa until 8:30.  She is such a joy, and is starting to do patty cake by herself.  So funny.

Today I have to get a wedding dress enlarged for a fitting at 5:00 and I want to finish up those vestments.  I also need to cut off a long Jr Miss dress for a fitting.  I did get another bridesmaid dress in yesterday so that was good.

I am just so bloomin tired.  I don't know why?  Although I have been really trying to take a good walk every day.  I think not having enough work for so long I forgot what it was like to really have to produce and I am not used to it. I finally got the tax crap cleaned up and a load of laundry put away.

I fold my laundry coming out of the dryer and always have.  We went to a laundry mat for the first 6 years of our marriage and when I finally got a washer and dryer after I graduated from college I just made that a habit.  I remember my mom always having baskets of unfolded laundry that got really wrinkled.  If it is folded right as it comes out it saves on ironing.  And ironing season is coming soon.

Do any of you just throw loads in baskets and let it sit?  I know when you have many kids this is easy to do.  But I always just folded  it and put it away, so the kids didn't let it sit around, then fall on the floor and then it ended up back in the laundry. A mother's frustration.

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

  1. I.noticed you said in earlier post that you had to use a cc at Walmart and another reader said they did not carry name brand. Our Walmart has three to four checkers, takes a check ( they print it and hand it back to you), cash, debit, or credit card, and carries name brand food al the time. They also have an employee at the self check helping because folks always get confused there. My house is 912 sq ft and while there is supposedly a laundry connection in the old garage I would not dare use it since it goes under water when it rains...yikess! I go to laundromat and it costs me about $3 to $4 a week. I sorta fold my clothes.......maybe.

    1. They have checkers that take cash or checks, but at self check out you have to use a CC. Our Wal mart does carry brand name foods also.

  2. Be careful what you wish for!! You were complaining of slow work times and now BOOM. It takes time to get back into the swing of things - give yourself some credit kiddo.

    1. Funny that I even thought of this, but I just can't stand to have things wrinkled. Ironing is a pian.

  4. I fold my laundry as soon as it comes out of the dryer too. My Mom still does what your Mom did. Just keeps the laundry in a basket not folded.

  5. Clothes I will wear are hung up straight from the dryer. Towels and such go into a basket. Folding clothes is a sit down, rest, and watch TV activity. When I was in school with a husband and two children, I never folded clothes, just used them from the basket when we needed something. It worked.

    2. I am talking towels and underwear, not outerwear. Well, husband told me it was my job and he was babysitting kids for me. He hated it, too. That is the only time I did that.

  6. I fold as soon as that buzzer goes off!
I do not enjoy ironing, and the folding goes better when they are just done tumbling! I have a huge bay/bow window in my bedroom right off the laundry, so I make piles for the kids to come and pick up. I am too old to deliver!!!

  7. I always fold straight away. I don't have alot of ironing now as my husbands farm clothes do NOT need ironing & I am working from home so no fancy clothes for me!! So I try to keep up with my ironing if I can as I hate it when it becomes a mountain. Take care of yourself Kim or you will crash again.

  8. I have fixed old vestments for my parish church and swore never to do them again. Lots of work and the intricate embroidery can make it even more difficult.

    God bless.

  9. Have you thought about having your thyroid checked, Kim? Once when I told the doc what you are saying (just so tired) he did blood work & that's what it was - hypothyroid. Just a thought.

  10. If possible, I agree with the other poster to have your blood levels checked. It may be thyroid, it may be a vitamin deficiency. Or, it could be that you are just working too hard and need to give yourself more of a break!

I fold laundry as soon as it comes out of the dryer. We also have a drying rack, that the majority of the clothes are on. Between my husband & I working out every day & the kids each playing multiple sports (and, being sweaty teens to boot), I do a tremendous amount of laundry.

  11. I don't iron. No, not even when sewing, which is partly why everything I make comes out crappy! The other part is incompetence. I fold straight out of the dryer, too. Celie

  12. I try to fold clothes at least the same day they are washed and dried. That works about 80% of the time. Sometimes though they are folded, placed back in the basket take upstaIrs and we dig through the basket. I do have the kids come get their piles to put away.
