Thursday, dream a little dream

Okay made the decision this morning after looking over the house with my sister, that I will not be making an offer on the big beautiful house of my dreams.  Actually if it was the house of my dreams it would have a third story attic.  To much work on the interior to bring it up to what I want.  The workmanship on repairs in the house were not top quality and there is a lot of redo to cover up poorly done work.  If I had loads of money, which I do not, and loads of time which I do not, Or a husband that was at all handy,I would go for it.   But alas I have to be realistic.  I hate realism.  It is no dang fun.

Hubs is up in Spokane watching Schmills and I have to get plenty done in the shop today.  I did finally finish a wedding dress yesterday, but have piles of piles to do today, plus I need to put sleeves in another wedding dress and get some major work done on some Indian regalia. I will take pictures of that project.

The house inspector is coming on Monday so I really have to get the yard and things put back together in this house.  The painter has things tore up all over the place and I have been just ignoring things since the house sold.  Which  has been nice, as we were on high alert with showings for a month.  You feel like a fire horse with bells always going off.

So maybe if I make a list of things that I need to get done in the shop I will have better luck accomplishing them.  Ya think?  Like making a list can make me work.... I don't know but it does help my ADHD brain for some reason.

1.Mend all items in a bag
    2. mend all items in another bag:)
    3. hem two pairs of pants and fix a coat
    4. hem three pairs of pants
    5. hem sleeves in 3 missionary shirts
    6. face hem three pairs of shorts
    7. replace buckles on a baby back pack ready to sew took a while to figure out replacement
    8. hem a dress
    9. fix two items of clothing
  10. alter a pile of items. two dresses, one skirt, one pair of jeans and a shirt
  11. put sleeves in a wedding dress for a fitting tomorrow
  12. figure out how to get regalia done and case for feather fan.  ready to embroider and cut out fan case

Okay I think that is enough and I will in no way get all of this done, but it is a start on what is in the shop.  Let's see just how much Kim can get done today!

Yeah go me!

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

  1. The big house of your dreams - kiddo I thought you were looking to downsize!! If I ever move it will be a one story house - too much climbing as we get older with more than one.
I love big old 2 story houses (to look at) - but sure wouldn't want to clean one anymore!
The right one will show up when it is supposed to.

  3. I know it was hard to turn down because the house is gorgeous. My irrational mind says I would love to live in a house like that too, but the place I have is too big for us anymore.

    1. I know, this house is too big but it is great when all the kids are home, plus we do need an area for the shop.

  4. The right house is out there for you Kim ... you just haven't come across it yet my friend. I think you made the right decision. If you were after a big house you may as well have stayed where you are after all the work you have put in.

  5. I still have not looked at the house. What will you do with all the people who come to visit you if the house is not large enough? Before my house was gone, I just lived downstairs. Everything I needed was on first floor with three bedrooms and large bath up. I could get upstairs if someone were chasing me up the stairs, but I was content to be downstairs and do stuff there. You will find a better one or one that is perfect.

  8. reality of me losing my ability to walk stable had us giving up our dream home...
we loved this one 2332 Shoreland Ave, Toledo, OH 43611

we looked at this also 2332 Shoreland Ave, Toledo, OH 43611 as it's close to my foster sister

We settled for a home that had a masterbed room on first floor and we put in 2 bathrooms... ramped the deck and will the front porch...

Best advice I can give you is to be looking at what will do for handicap/wheel chair... because it's not as far off as you think it is. Don't be my in laws that are facing $1500 per door to get doors widened as MIL is now using a walker and can't even get through the bathroom door without turning sideways
