Friday, I am beside myself.

Poor baby Oliver has covid and so does his daddy. Dan just has cold symptoms.  Oliver ran a fever on Tuesday and has been quite fussy, but is better today.  Daughter is lacking sleep and home from the plant until at least next Monday.  How her husband could be positive and her negative is beyond me, but some people  are just immune.  I just feel so bad.

Hubs and I will run a few groceries up there and just put them on her porch.  I am also going to make a few freezer meals up.  I need to make up some lasagna and stuffed shells anyway.

Hubs just got a call from an old boss, who totaled his pickup and was at the junk yard trying to piece it out.  This man is in a wheel chair now, so some what unable to do things.   Anyway he needed a coal (?) chisel and a sledge hammer immediately.  Hubs came into the shop to get my sledge hammer that I use for placing heavy duty snaps and he is now on his way to purchase said chisel. He also needed scraps of wood which we had.  I just had to laugh at the phone call. This man calls Hubs with the most remarkable requests and Hubs just runs to answer whatever he needs.  We have some really funny stories to tell about him and his antics.

I am sad about not being able to see Oliver for another week or so and worried about Christmas. We want to go see our oldest daughter and Hubs folks, but must make sure we do not expose them to anything.  We would drive straight through and only stop for gas at a pump.  We will just have to wait and see. Hubs folks will be so disappointed, but we have to protect them at all costs.  This is going to be a hard Christmas for many people.  I keep telling myself to be grateful as we have not lost anyone and we are financially secure.

I have a lot of anxiety now, so I think I will tackle these feelings by getting busy.  The shop needs a through clean.  I am going to start a large pot of pasta sauce.  I need to keep my mind of of worry.

Say a prayer for my family please, especially my sweet little baby Oliver.

Have a great and overproduce day staying positive while you are in the negative.

  1. Oh my! I am so sorry about Oliver and his dad. I know several people with Covid and people they with don’t catch it. It’s a very strange illness and very unpredictable.
I can only imagine how hard it must be to have ill family and not be able to be with them,
I don’t think we are having a big family Christmas. Some of my kids are careful and some aren’t, and the careful ones don’t want to be exposed to something from the uncareful ones. Maybe by Easter we can all be together again,

  2. Prayers for that sweet baby and everyone. He is so cute! I think most of us are having what I call a very Covid Christmas. I have not seen my grandbaby in a year because of this virus. I cannot risk the flight. I had four trips planned for this year.. Still, I am grateful, like you, that everyone is still alive. i hope your sweet grandbaby recovers quickly.

  12. This Covid is real. My sister has a family friend (age 31), fighting for her life with Covid. She was near term with her 4th child, went into a coma and the baby was delivered emergency c-sction. She has been on a ventilator for 2 weeks. They have now performed a tracheotomy to make her more comfortable and have reduced the ventilator in hopes that her body will fight this more on its own. As a nation, we will only heal as fast as people are responsible inasmuch as possible.
