Friday, Taking time for Kim!

Kim has worked very hard the last 3 days and has stuck to task. So today other than a few pickups and bridal fittings, she is going to do what she wants.

I wanted to plant yesterday after I was done with my quota, but alas it started pouring.  Both Hubs and I are not 100% and this anti biotic although working well on the infection is doing nothing for my internals.  Last night we were both weak and tired and we actually ate oatmeal for dinner. That is what we wanted.  Then we both went to bed early.

It is a little breezy today and I wish it was warmer, the sun is shining, and I am determined to get as many flower boxes planted as I can.

Tomorrow Signe' and I are going to a Stevie Nix concert at the gorge in Moses Lake Washington. It is a girls birthday trip for her mother in law that just turned 60.  We will stay in a hotel and come home Sunday.

Hubs is out rototilling the new garden space.  I can't wait to start planting as I really love to roll in the dirt.  So in between clients I will be putting on my garden apron and gloves and starting to finally plant something.  Our sprinklers will be turned on Tuesday next week.

I am so looking forward to a day of not sewing.  You have no idea! I think I will get Winco fried chicken for dinner, I have just been craving that for some reason.  Plus, I won't have to cook again. Okay not a good reason but I have bought nothing but butter for the last two weeks.

Have a great weekend you guys, and do you have any fun plans?  Have any of you done your flowers for the year?  Do you even do flowers?

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

  1. It was 80* today so we decided to open the pool - it's 20x40. I'm just not as strong as I used to be - dragging the cover off, pulling it onto the lawn to dry out. Then I used the shop vac to vacuum up as much of the pollen/dried leaves off the pool deck. My husband does the bulk of the work but I help as much as I can. I think next year I'll call one of our sons to come and help!

After that I repotted a few of the plants I just bought to put on the deck and around the patio. Lots more to still do, but the next couple of days look dry and warm.

    1. I know those pool covers are very heavy and a pool is a lot of work. The older I get the weaker my upper body gets. Thinking of doing yoga or something for strength. I said thinking which is probably as far as it will go....

    1. It was an awesome concert. She is amazing at 73. I remember my son in law married to our eldest daughter when both Hubs and I were still working, saying that our jobs were going to age us because we both worked very physical jobs. He came from a family of white colors. I remember it kind of taking me back, because we did both work physically hard every day. Hubs up and down mountains and me dancing, But, guess who looks young now compared to all our friends? Us, we also move better, I think the active work kept us young not the opposite. Plus we both oved our work, which not many people can say.

  6. Enjoy Stevie Nicks she's an old favorite of mine! Enjoy! It's been in the 80's and 90's all week so we seemed to have skipped spring. We're a bit south of you so things are in full bloom here. You look great in that picture!!

  10. I like to pick up chicken when we are out and them come home and make my own sides as they are better than their sides. Sounds like you will be gardening this week thanks to hubby getting the garden ready. My grandfather was a great gardener and would have two or three going all the time.

    1. It was nice, and I did get a side of coleslaw as it was free, but Hubs said mine was better.
