Tuesday, Bum Knee?

I have no idea what I did, but my right knee is screaming.  It started last evening out of no where.  I can walk upstairs and down with no pain but just walking is down right painful.  If I keep my knee straight and limp no pain.  It is weird.  I suspect it is my RA inflaming the tendons on the right side of the right knee, which means the left tendons on the left knee are soon to follow.  This is just great.  The last time this happened I was 27, in my final semester of college and had just had my second daughter. Sleeping last night was hell. I really don't kneed (punny) this crap.

Did not get to any costumes yesterday, but I did get all the Christmas decos from my sister's house that she had borrowed.  We had to carry many loads up and down her basement stairs, is that where the knee decided to rebel?  Can't say.  What I can tell you is that neither one of us closed the back gate to my pickup and I was strewing boxes of Christmas all the way home.  When I pulled into the driveway with a 1/2 loaded truck, I realized that I needed to go on an egg(Christmas) hunt.  Lewiston is on a series of steep grades and hills (think Seattle).  So I retraced my route which by the way was less than a mile and picked up all I had lost.  Felt like an idiot.  Because I am. Nothing damaged or broken except my pride.  I was stopping the truck, putting on my flashers and picking up boxes in the middle of the street where cars were swerving around them.  Fun with Kim.  Is this where my knee said halt? Getting in and out of a large truck several times.

I will be limping about my shop today, getting those costumes I said I was going to do yesterday done.  Also have to sew two more aprons, and I have another project in the works.  Maybe should try and sew a little on something that can make money.  The thought....

Now the back hall to the shop is loaded with Christmas decos, and that drives me crazy, but I have a girl friend coming over and I hope she will help me distribute the crap to the rooms it belongs in.  I really dislike it when the back hall is full.  Plus all the painting is done there and I want to out things back together.

So today's list is as follows:

1. fix rabbit costume (Ralphie)
2. fix 20's dress
3. fix ball gown
4. sew two aprons
5. move all hall crap to rooms it belongs in
6. tear up tape and drop clothes from hall
7. put hall furniture back
8. work on woman's duster project
9. sew something that will make you money.  Ha!
10. take deposit to bank
11. get hubs to take dog to vet.
12 find something for dinner ( may just get a burger sorry I have a bum knee that prevents me from doing anything I don't to:))
13. take down and box up all Thanksgiving decor

What are you guys going to do today?  Anything fun?  Anything boring? Anything you have been avoiding?

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

  2. Hope the knee heals quickly. The older you get - the more surprise aches you get. No known reason - just happens!
You are lucky nothing broke and nothing got picked up by others. Around here you probably wouldn't have found much, even if it was only there for a few minutes.
    Don't over do it!

  4. Knee pain sucks. I must admit, the visual of the Christmas decorations falling out of the truck bed was a bit amusing. So very glad you were able to recover all the stuff that fell out.

My tree is up, still waiting on decorations. And then there are cookies to bake. There is always stuff to do.

  5. I am putting off the Christmas pudding (new recipe) and the fruit cake along with decoration the inside because it means I have to finish cleaning the basement so Hubby can move the frig out of the front room where the Christmas tree goes.He put off moving the frig when we got the new one due to raining not thinking about he put the extra canning jars (ones that we have already ate ) right were the frig was to go. THEN he was going to put it around the corner but there is no outlet there and I won't run it on an extension cord. SIGH we gave ourselves the dead line of Sunday to finish the decorating and baking SIGH..
Try ice and heat on the knee... 70 yr old brother does that daily

    1. Isn't aggravating when you start to move something and soon the whole hose has to be moved. Love those projects.

  6. Do you use a knee control on your sewing machine? It so, stop and use the foot control. I hope your knee gets better soon. Baby it.

That is tragic but funny about cars dodging your Christmas decorations! I did a lot today but it is all on my blog--free lunch, games, food bank, cleaning my lot, fun stuff.

  7. I think your knee is complaining about the stairs AND the truck.
