Wednesday, To the Doctor I go

Well I have given up getting better.  Although my throat does not burn like it did when I cough, I now have a rattly chest and severe sinus drainage done the back of my throat.  Also body aches and a low fever indicating an infection, so I am scheduled to see the Doc at 1:15 today.  Hubs would have drug me there without and appointment if I had not made one.  I really would like to feel like myself again.

Even thought I did quite a bit of sewing yesterday, I still have things that need to be out by Friday.  So many things are happening around here and I am not on top of anything.

We had the toilet replaced in the basement this morning. it has never worked right and it had to be a basement flush high pressure toilet.  So expensive.  Then we have carpet layers coming tomorrow to do the family room and stairs.  I really need some help around here moving stuff.  I know they will do the big stuff.  I will tip them, that always seems to work.  I feel very behind although I just keep lowering my expectations and that seems to work.

Things that have to get done either today or by Friday:

1. Kim doctor
2. empty family room as much as possible
3. alter wedding dress
4. make veil
5. put patches on a leather vest
6. hem three dresses
7. make cheese ball for Lil sis
8. make potato soup for us and friend
9. alter suit for wedding Saturday
10. get to Wal-mart with a list
11. x-fer money for toilet from savings
12. get kitchen ready to make rosettes and caramels
13. take cream out of freezer
14. go to Winco for a few things
15. get gift cards for nephews

So I will get done what I can.  It is all I can do.  I think Daughter #2  will be down late Thursday if the weather is good. She will be of tremendous help.  We are having a burn the mortgage party Friday night with a few close friends for Hubs birthday which is tomorrow.  He still has no idea I paid off the house.  It has been killing me to keep this secret.

My head is going to explode I swear.

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

  1. I am so glad to hear you are going to the doctor and look after Kim. I cannot even imagine how thrilled he will be to learn you are no longer mortgage holders, but true and real homeowners forever!

    1. Yeah until we sell the house and are homeless until we buy something else. But that will be an adventure.

  2. Now it won't kill you to NOT make cookies/candy fro Xmas. Get your plate empty one way or another or I will come there and break that plate! 8-)))

  3. Lowering expectations day by day is the only way I feel like I can exist lately. I slept 12 hours last night...SOLID. So, things I planned to get done this morning are now afternoon chores. You can do it too, WITHOUT cookie baking. I hope someone gets a picture of husband's face.

  4. Oh you poor thing. PLEASE take care and feel better.
I can't believe you have kept the mortgage secret so long - make sure you burn a copy and keep the original for the future!!!

  5. What did the doctor say?

The year I did no cookie baking... the kids admitted they only missed Hubby's snickerdoodles and my buckeyes. They got that until 2 yrs ago when I made the comment if you can't text. Facebook, call , email or come see us, do not expect any presents or food. All the kids have stayed connected but admitted they don't want the presents any more. They do appreciate the little bit of money I send to cover a large pizza so they don't have to cook at least once during the holidays.

    1. Seriously my kids are all way wealthier than either hubs or I ever thought of being so we could go to no gifts and it would not kill them. But then we did have 17 years with a kid in college at all times, that was expensive.

  6. Hi new follower of your blog. I love that you have paid off your Mortgage! That is so cool. We paid off one, then moved to Utah and bought three properties, so now working on paying off all three! Your holiday calendar is full just like mine. Hope you have a Merry Christmas. Get feeling better. So sorry tohear that you are sick.

    1. Well welcome to the chaos. Why Utah? Of all the places I could go that would be the last and I am a member. We will sell this house and go on a mission in the spring, then I don't know where we will land, some where there are not as many members. Like not in the Mormon corridor. Too many doctors and dentists(and wives) control everything. IF you don't have a a lot of money here in Lewiston you are over looked for any opportunity to serve is it that way in Utah? Talk about the Nephites and Lamanites. I live with them and have for 30 years. Did not realize the Lord valued me on the amount of money my husband made. Or that he loved me less becasue I HAD to work to keep the lights on. But the gospel is true and I am happy to serve where ever I can and do most of my service outside the church. So happy to have you so I can bounce ideas around. Happy, cough, happy cough.

  8. Kim, you just don't get it! You are always sick because of your frenetic lifestyle. Girl, get a grip and slow it down. People have given you that advice over and over on this blog but it falls on deaf ears. You are working yourself into an early grave!

    1. You are right, but I am always sick because I have a suppressed immune system. That is never going to change. I feel I have slowed way down compared to the crazy life style I had even 5 years ago. I did lay down and nap from 5:00 to 8:15. It was wonderful.

  11. So sad you are sick. I have just got out of the hospital from Septis and feeling a lot like you. I have a suppressed immune system. Take care and don't worry about Christmas. Your family would rather have you feeling good.

  12. (((((HUGS)))) Kim and I do hope the doctor was able to help you and that you feel better quickly. Please give yourself a gift and just rest. I let my family and friends know that gifts will be late this year and that no Christmas cards are going out. I cut way back on my baking and candy making along with the number of gifts that I have bought in the past. I just can't do it all emotionally, physically and financially anymore as hard as it was to admit that to myself.
