It is Good Friday! Lots to think about today. A day of sacrifice and thinking of blessings. I am humbled today as I have so many blessings. Many of them all of you. So grateful for the friendships I have forged here. You are such a support to me, through all of my trials (SISSIE) joking.
Prom dresses are coming in like crazy and next week will be very busy. I am going over to Sissie's tomorrow to help Dan in the yard.
We will have a ham dinner here for the kids on Sunday and an Easter egg hunt for the littles.
My shoulder was so much better last night, and I am so grateful. I woke about 4 a.m. and it started to throb but nowhere near like it did all of yesterday. I was very careful not to use overuse the shoulder. As in I did nothing outside.
Things were not as frugal as I would have liked them to be, this last week. But I muddled through.
My goals were pretty well kept
I was able to put enough money in the bank to pay for taxes. I paid the utilities with cash, and I paid Aunties dental bills with cash. I only had 2 no spend days and need to get better at this again. I was so good at the beginning of the year. We ate all meals at home or with Sissie. So, I guess it wasn't all bad.
I did spend on groceries, but that was almost a have too, and Sissie stocked me up with butter at $1.99 a pound and that was worth it, as we have not found it for less than $3.50 anywhere in the last 6 months. As much as we bake, we use butter.
I will not have to buy anything for Sunday's dinner as I already had the ham in the freezer. I bought it right after Christmas for .69 a pound. I know unheard of, right?
Did you keep any financial goals this last week? If so what?
Today I am going to get sand and gravel in between the brick work outside. That will not be too labor intensive on my shoulder. Then it is just finishing the patio, turning on the water and cleaning up. I have decoration to hang on the fence, Will get Nate to help me with that.
Have a lovely Easter weekend, eat chocolate, visit family.
He is Risen!

I'm glad your shoulder is feeling better, Kim. We are also having Ham for Easter Dinner and I want to make some deviled eggs to go with that for sure. I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your friends and family. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Belinda

ReplyDeleteThanks Lori, I hope you had a wonderful Easter.
DeleteHappy Easter to you and yours!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl
DeleteI am just playing catch up on your posts Kim. Your yard & the new gardens & pathways look wonderful in your last post - well done!! You should feel so proud of all that work. I know how hard it is believe me! I am glad you rested your shoulder yesterday. Yes I use a lot of butter too as I like to bake. It is very expensive here.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all a happy Easter Kim x0x
Thank you, I am almost done out there, well I do have to plant!
DeleteIt sounds lovely jeva busy weekend. I pulled I guess a ground muscle on the right. My hip was playing up and now the inside. I was not productive other than to get weekend groceries for Easter and meal prepping, and getting soup in crock pot for my SILs house, my niece, and for us. I guess that was thrifty.
ReplyDeleteIsn't getting older fun?
DeleteWe will have turkey breast because we have it and Tommy will put in a bag. Potato salad, green bean casserole, deviled egg for me. At the rate we are going, we may have Easter dinner on Tuesday...lol.
ReplyDeleteYou get so much done. But, it seems like gravel and sand would be heavy. Have a fun time with your family on Easter. Happy Sewing.
It is very heavy probably why my shoulder is bad?
DeleteI am glad that your shoulder was feeling so much better. Nothing really spectacular in the frugal or financial happened, but I can say at least we did not have any more big surprises money wise. I am looking forward to putting some money back into savings at the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I too am having trouble meeting my goals this month. I need to get busy!
DeleteVery happy that your shoulder is feeling better. Take care of yourself & don't push too hard. Enjoy the time with your family! - Hawaii Planner
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time not doing anything.
DeleteHappy Easter! I put long,
ReplyDeletePeeled carrots in with my ham I bought around Christmas for 69 cents a lb also! I like the flavor the ham gives the carrots. I was in use up mode so made small red potatoes baked in olive oil, salt and pepper, and coleslaw from a packet I needed to use. Drove an hour and a half to youngest kid to deliver him a meal of carrots and ham, potatoes, rolls, green bean casserole I made just for him bc he loves it, coleslaw, and cheesecake. He has an emergency brief due Monday, so he cannot drive over here for Easter. I also made deviled eggs which I forgot to take him! Momma’s delivery service is slipping… lol.I hope y’all have a wonderful Easter! Cindy in the South
You are such a good mommy! Now you have to eat all those eggs yourself?
DeleteHappy Easter Kim!! We had Chili Cheese Corn dog casserole for Easter!! My daughter requested it, ans since it's just the 2 of us this year, I said ABSOLUTELY. Hope your day was wonderful too.
ReplyDeleteWell, whatever you love serve it!
