Tuesday, April Fools, Kim's day to shine!

Can't think of anyone to pull a joke on, but I am picking up the grandkids this afternoon so I will come up with something.

I spent all yesterday just lounging on the sofa.  I had clients come in and drop off and I had a bride dress picked up and another one fitted.  The fitting went perfectly. I was a little worried as it was a toughie, but it fit like a glove.  I might just know what I am doing.  I surprise myself at times.  This fake it til you make it might be working.

So, what are my plans for April?  Well financially things will be a little different as I have that vet bill $617.00 to work into the budget.  I only have one more large goal to complete, along with saving for taxes, tithing and other expenses. Plus, I would like to have a little more in the slush fund so to speak. It will all get done, it just takes time!

Last month's goals recap!

1. Did really well with using pantry food, spent $160.00 on groceries but mostly that was for party and entertainment food.

2. Only ate out once twice I paid for, I really held my ground.  Both meals were things I brought in, Pizza, and Chinese.

3. Only had 10 no spend days.  It was an expensive month. The dog and then yard supplies.

4. I did get my taxes in but still have not heard.

5. I was able to get all the spraying done for a while, but it is ongoing.

6. made major progress on the garden area but still not ready to plant.  Bit off way more than I can chew, so still chewing and chewing.

7. Bottom rockery is done for now.

8. Got the $2000.00 goal achieved so that is done!

I think I did really well for the month.  But I am not going to push myself as hard this next month.

April goals!

1.Put $1000.00 on my next saving goal

2. fund my penny a day challenge

3.Get as much of the garden area done as possible (So much work!) More on this later

4. pick up taxes and pay accountant and whatever I owe

5.Try and have at least 15 no spend days

6. eat out of pantry and no spend on groceries as much as possible

7. host Easter dinner.  Already have the Ham and most fixings

8. purchase a new lawn mower that I can use!

9. Extra money goes to my house tax fund

Well, my friends let's see if I can do this. I am trying to put a little less pressure on myself, so I am not so wired all the time. Still, I am very proud to me. I have really done well with my austerity goals, and they have made a big difference. I can really tell in my desires to waste and spend money needlessly. Now I have been frugal for a long time, but I could feel myself slipping into bad habits. I can still be generous, and have fun, but I don't need to be stupid!

Do you have any goals for the month?  What are they?

I have to get at least 4 dresses hemmed today maybe more!  Let's try for more!

Just got a call Aunties hearing aids are done, and we got tomorrow.  So excited.

Have a great and productive day.

God is good

Kim

  1. I picked up the self pity party theme this morning, but slowly shaking it off. Goals for April? Save anything not essential. I blew it a bit already by accepting a last minute lunch today, but now I'll get serious. Other goals- taxes done, pay 1/2 property taxes, refund overage paid, and start prepping yard and garden.

    1. Oh SAM I wish we lived next door to one another. We could eat chocolate and potato chips for lunch and just bitch, about everything and I know that would make me feel so much better! You and I have the same list!

  4. I almost always got items right. I was always careful because I did not want to redo. I cannot wait to hear what you did with kids.

    1. I went and got a donut box and filled it with carrot sticks and veggies! The look on their faces. But I also had new crayons to make up for that and they did eat many of the veggies!

  5. Good morning, well your March accomplishments were excellent! What a huge list. I like the idea, I will start an April list of goals and then see where I go ;). I had made a decision late last year to do nothing major in the first quarter and held to that goal,so that was good news. For example, I need to finish decorating two rooms, rugs, table lamp, bedspread…but wanted to wait until this quarter to spend any money on non essentials…so this will be on my list. Now to do it affordably, off to consignment shops I go ;). Thank you for your regular postings, it is fun to see you in action ;). Hilogene in Az.
