Saturday, Yard work Yeah!

It was so windy yesterday, I thought my car was going to be blown off the road.  So I spent the day putzing, paying bills doing a little grocery shopping for a few items we needed.

Today I want to do some yard work and then go get my nails redone as they are way too long.  I am getting them stuck in the piano and it hurts.  I am a little frustrated because I cannot get them to cut them short enough.  I will be very specific as I hate wasting the time and the money.

I made a really good dish of red beans and rice yesterday enough for left overs today.  But I am also going to make a homemade pizza later.  tomorrow we have a potluck at the church so I will be making something. Probably a cake and something chicken.  That was easy.

Well I am in my clean overall and I need to go makes them dirty.

Have a great and productive day.

Kim

  1. I had the same problem with one nail technician. She left me with nails beyond long. They were claws. And, I was sewing every day on my commercial machines, putting oil in the car, cleaning off battery posts, etc. Usually, I ripped off a tip when opening the refrigerator door!

    1. I had tips for only 3 years, long ago, not anytime in the last 20 years.

    2. I always get mine really short and I only get them done so they are thick and I cannot scratch my cuticles.

  2. Sounds like a busy day! Hope you get your yard work done and the nails, too, and done to your satisfaction.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. Appreciate you doing that.

    1. No yard work, too windy, but nails are done and short enough so I can play the piano.

  3. I don't like wasting time either, Kim. I try to combine all my errands into one trip whenever possible. Helps to save on gas money too. Sounds like you had a productive day, can't beat that. :)

    1. I did the same thing Friday. Paid all bills and went to mail, and drop off all with in a three block radius. Saves on stamps and gas and time.

  4. Hope you got to dig or move dirt!
I have to keep my nails relatively short because I work with my hands a lot and long nails just get in the way. I use the piano as my indicator of acceptable length. If they click on the keys when I play it is time for a clip and file. I suppose it helps that I am not a girly girl.

    1. My nails are for medicinal purposes only. My dang skin is so thin from medication that a simple scratch turns into an infection. Pan in the butt I tell you.

  5. Be cheap like me and occasionally file and smooth my nails, let them break, file and smooth them again, repeat. I'm not a fan of manicured nails for myself. Occasionally I'll use polish for a special event, but mostly, I just like to keep them short and groomed.

    1. I would love to do that, but I learned the hard way with a bad infection on my cuticles from picking at a hang nail. Ended up with IV antibiotics for infection. The thick surface of the nail keeps me from scratching at my skin. I don't like having them done or spending the money but, there you have it.
