Thursday, off to the Doctor

My girlfriend came over yesterday and helped me cut out all the costumes.  I have the pieces stacked in piles.  My dining room is destroyed and covered with fabric scraps.  It looks like a bomb went off up there.  I did my first mock up of one of the dresses as the first one is how you see where you are going to save steps in making them.

Of course the lace I planned to use on the sleeves was in a bin at the bottom of my sewing room closet, so now the sewing room is a disaster.  The only good thing about the closet mess is that I found many squirreled away Christmas gifts which I can take upstairs and go through to see what I need.  Also many cookie tins and caramel boxes.

So my first order of business today it to organize the shop again and put things away.  What a mess.  This is what happens when you save things for later.  It does save money but it also requires that you store said items and then know where they are.  Of course they are always going to be in the bottom box at the back of the closet.

I have a specialists appointment today and we have many things to discuss.  Why do I feel like crap a lot.  Right now I have a bad headache AGAIN.  I am generally achy and my night sweats are terrible.  My wrists and fingers are very sore for many hours of the day.  I also need to get a new regular doctor.  So many things will change as far as my medical care is being handled.

Well I have a rip roaring mess to tackle in the shop so I had better get my butt in there and see what I can do to fix the mess I made.  Then line up my work for the day.

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

    1. Me too. It is hard to keep going when all I want to so is curl up in a ball with a warm blanket and sleep on the sofa.

  2. Hello Kim, thanks for your visit to my blog & the lovely comment you left me. I hope your Dr manages to sort some things out for you ... its no fun feeling like that all the time! I laughed because my sewing room currently looks like a bomb has gone off in it too & my hubby asked me today "isn't there carpet in there somewhere under all that mess??"

    1. I went to linoleum about 8 years ago, so much easier to clean up the pins, and sequins and fluff.

  5. I finally started putting things in clear plastic bags so that digging through or even neatly looking for stuff was easier. Putting like fabrics in a store bag, never a clear one, does keep like scraps together, but clear kitchen storage bags makes things so much easier. Thankfully my sewing room does not have carpets!

One day, my daughter went up to my upstairs sewing room which only held bolts of fabric, leftover large enough to sew, and scraps. She came down with a pants leg, asking me if I had enough of this material to make her something. I was horrified. We went straight back up so she could show me where it came from so I could reunite it with the rest of the pants ready to sew. She had no idea.
