Monday, I need a break, Money saving madness

Well the second show went really well.  I took a two hour nap between shows and thank goodness our company showed up when they did or I would have over slept.  When I got back to the theater I reworked the final three minutes of the show that had been neglected and it went perfectly.  It is hard to sit back and let others work through what you know so well.  But everyone has to learn and make mistakes and learn to correct them.  If I stepped in every time they would never be able to run this themselves.  All I can say is I am so happy the Nutcracker is over.

It was so nice to have Hub's cousin and wife here for a few days.  He is quite handy and fixed my lazy Susan cupboard that was not put in correctly.  It works!  I would love to have that man around for a couple of weekend his wife and I could get into so much trouble.  She is a hoot.

Saturday night as we were taking props and costumes back to the studio I was pulling the set pieces and costumes for the Nativity. Hub's had to play for the children on Sunday and I helped direct and we stored all the costumes in the overflow for this weekend.  The children are so excited. After church I ran home as our cousins son had his birthday on Friday and we were all back stage.  So I did a steak and shrimp dinner.  So nice to have these things on hand purchased at rock bottom prices.

Today I got up after sleeping on the sofa as I was not feeling my best and I was keeping hubs awake.  I made my overnight waffles, and  Hub's had to be to the school by 9.  I had help wrapping mom and dads stocking gifts and they will be taken over by hub's cousin and put in stockings.  So this solves one of my Christmas problems.

As soon as company was out the door, I had to hurry and hem 5 pairs of pants due out.  I have a wedding veil to finish and then I am just going to rest.  I will try to stay on top of my sewing and get things ready for mom's Swedish Christmas open house which is on the 16th.  But today I will rest.  I am not feeling well and the last week was very tiring.

Monday's money saving madness Nov. 25-Dec.2 2018

1.  I have to admit we ate fast food way too much as it was a really busy week and we were not home at meal times.  We did use a gift card and then the rest were gut bombs from MCD's so the cost was down but not the calories.  The nutrition was awful.
2.  Made a wonderful dinner and breakfast with food stocked for guests
3. used coupons at Joanns to save money
4. purchased marked down meats 70% off
6. used clothesline to dry heavy items
7. pulled wrapping paper that I bought 90% off to use for gifts.
8. cut all makeup remover clothes in half  (you only need 1/2 )
9. Had Hubs eat left overs from Thanksgiving until Wednesday.
10. reused containers that I have saved.
11. Used up a cake mix and frosting from storage that was up to its expire date.
12.  All food scraps to chickens

It was not a great saving week as when I get too busy those things go out the window.  I try but now I am going to try and rest.

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

  4. Eating out when life gets crazy is the only option a lot of times. I am so glad you are going to have a little down time to rest. I am betting you won't do it though!

  6. Throw a couple extra pieces of fruit in your diet this week and call it good. You were stretched even thinner than normal I think.
