This is the story of my life. I thought it would be easy.... Yuck, yuck!
Finally, I was able to get a pile done that has been lurking here forever. So proud to me!
I am headachy and my shoulder joints hate me. It has been my right shoulder for about a month and now the left shoulder has decided to join the circus that is Kim's arthritic body. Very painful and hard to sleep. Not happy about it, will weather on, as usual. Just need to complain a little.
Oh yes, I was going to do taxes today. I just remembered. Drat that memory! But before I tackle the taxes, I need to replace 4 zippers or add zippers or something to do with a zipper. Then hem a pair of jeans and believe it or not the piles are done. Then onto dresses.
If you are inclined to post your kind deeds in my comments feel free. We don't have to tell all but I think knowing what we are doing in a few small ways will encourage and give all of us ideas on what we can do for others. A simple smile can suffice, or a sincere thank you.
Kay took Auntie shopping for supplies yesterday. I think they had fun. Aunty came home and took a nap. She is enjoying her TV and netflix. So easy to please. This is probably why she has lived to the ripe old age of 90!
I am looking at the tax basket with and evil eye right now. Like maybe I can incinerate it with my stare. SO far that is not working, so I am going to remove it to the kitchen table. Out of site out of mind. I have been trying that with Joel for over two years now and it isn't working with him either..
On with the comedy show Kim calls LIFE!
God is good
Kim
Yes mam, God is good. Hope you shoulder feels better. Keep smiling!
ReplyDeleteWell, it is better than frowning!
DeleteHope your shoulder feels better. The one thing I got done today was cleaning my vacuum lol.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I let Sissie do mine...*snort*
DeleteMy age-related arthritis is acting up. I never know when it will act up. Where do I limp today? It is a strange disease or condition.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a place to shop since Joanne's is closing? Or, will yours stay open?
Well, I do have Wal mart for what it is. Also we are getting a Hobby Lobby.
DeleteWhen I turned 50, I decided that every time I think a positive thing about a stranger I would tell them. So now I will tell the woman in front of me in line that she smells great, or that I love someone's dress/hair/whatever. I especially try to do it if I notice someone standing alone or looking uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteobscure,
DeleteI always comment on women's clothes, hair, shoes if I really admire the item. Same for kids with cute clothes or just if the child infant is cute. Aren't they all cute?
I love this, it's such a simple thing, but really a kind comment from someone on just a so-so day means everything.
DeleteThis is a wonderful idea. Everyone can use a little pick me up!
DeleteI hope your shoulder improves real soon Kim. Doing the kind of work you do is not conducive to shoulders & they can give us a lot of issues, sitting at a sewing machine for long periods of time. I would love to join you in your good deeds for Lent ... though I try & do this in my daily life, not every day but most days I do try to do one small good thing for someone else - yesterday I took bags of veggies to the sharing shed which is where anyone can come & help themselves for free. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat deed!
DeleteI do hope your shoulders stop paining you very soon. Sewing is hard on the shoulders. Looks like you are making your way through the piles readily.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I know. Ripping the triple seam out of three pairs of work pants was much harder than installing the zippers.
DeleteYes , I am turning 65 and my neck on my left side, and both knees are acting up big time! Hope you get your sewing and taxes done! Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love old age?
DeleteBoo to arthritis! My mom had her second knee replacement last week due to that nasty stuff. My nice deed was sending all four of the neighbor kids home with candy! ha! I sent mom and text to make sure she wasn't mad. She wasn't. I told her good thing since hubby said that's what she gets for sending all four kids to our house! lol She replied it was worth it for the peace and quiet. It's nice to have good neighbors. Congrats on the pile, now on the the dresses!
ReplyDeleteI thank that is a very good deed for both of you!
DeleteCongratulations on one pile to stare at ;).
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about the idea of doing 40 nice things for others over Lent. Then yesterday I met with a friend and decided to pay a bill for her. She is not good with money and I do wish I could help her change but she has to do it herself. So my chat with myself on this topic is that this one bill will be paid but whether or not she changes in the future is not in my hands. Last week’s Bible topic was criticizing others for the splinter in their eye and ignoring the log in our own eyes, so I am also thinking about how that applies to me ;). Hilogene in Az.
Good luck on the taxes and the piles. Sometimes it seems there is ALWAYS more to do.
ReplyDeleteTaxes are done and in, what torture. I finished them at about 9 last night!
DeleteConquering the piles could be a song sung to the chorus of the hymn "Bringing in the Sheaves"
ReplyDeleteHoping the flare is extinguished soon. Sometimes I wonder if my joints talk to each other and make plans to increase the discomfort for their own giggles.
I know. They do talk to each other. This mirror image thing is the pits..
DeleteHope your shoulder is feeling better! And, I feel you on the taxes. A few things I've done lately: I scheduled a meet up with people I've never met socially before (we sit together at soccer games), & I felt good about it, because making friends as an adult is hard, and I usually wait for someone else to initiate. We had a fabulous time & they all thanked me for doing it. I think we will get together again. It was lovely.
ReplyDeleteI also helped a friend who recently lost her dad. And, checked in on my neighbor, who is an elderly widower & we keep an eye on her house while she travels.
Good for you all the little kindnesses we do add up.
