Thursday, turning down work

It is very hard for me to turn down work.  I have had up to this point 7 phone calls I have turned down.  Kim before would probably have gauged the work and would have been sewing up to the hour before she left for the extra money.  But not this time.   I just have so many little things that need to get done, or I want to get done.

I need to go and pay the paper bill, get cash for Hub's, get nails done (hate this), scrub three toilets, I don't know why I can't leave town with out scrubbing the toilets.  There is last minute packing and making sure I have all the important things, like meds, passport, chargers.

I want to run to the grocery store and stock Hub's up on things that will run out.  Don't forget to clean the cat box, and water all the indoor plants, get the last two loads of laundry done, put together a bag for D#2's birthday gift.    My mind is ping ponging along on all the last minute things I think I need to do and it is so nice to not have the stress of having to sew and greet clients while I do this.

Money motivation aside as it does stress me to turn down work, but my life is about to change and I need to think about how I am going to adapt to those changes.

Well I am off, pray that all will go well will you?

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

Get on that plane and have a great time....
New normal for you once the house is paid off, yes. Less sewing work to take in.

  4. I always clean the house too. I like to come home to a clean house since I will have lots of laundry to do. The house is almost paid off. I think you can turn down a few jobs at this point.

  5. Hi Kim, thanks for coming by my blog and leaving a comment. You asked where I got the black metal cats for holding pumpkins that are on my front porch. There's a link in the post highlighted in red that takes you right to the Wayfair page for these holders. :-)

  6. Great job on letting go of work! You seem to travel so much that I think a permanent list of all that goes in your suitcase would help you not to have your head spinning with what you need to remember. Have fun. I hope all the glassware arrived intact.

  7. Yes! Good for you for saying no! And I love how you cross off stuff in your paragraphs! It's the best.

  10. Will be praying for you and yours safety. I agree with a standard packing list to keep in your suitcase. You do need to figure out how you are going to run your business and be retired. I hope you have a REAL ID (new standard from BVM) that is now required at some airports or pray you don't need it.

PS cat litter box is just another toilet LOL

  13. Oh girl, you have GOT to relax! I understand about not wanting to turn down work. Several years ago I had a small massage clinic in an extra building on the land where we lived. I basically did massage for people I knew, and anyone whom they sent my way. I wasn't getting rich, but I was bringing in extra money to help out the budget, which was EXTREMELY tight at the time. There was this one woman who I met, and I did do a massage on her once. After that, however, I just couldn't stand the thought of her being on my table, or anywhere else near my home. You know that feeling you get about some people? Yeah, I had it--BIG TIME. So every time she asked if I could do a massage, I found reasons to not be available. Then one day we were in a really bad way financially. I thought if I had someone come in for a massage, I could just make it all work until payday. Well, guess who I saw at the market, and wanted a massage? I honestly considered it for a half second, but my gut told me NO!!!! I said I was just too busy to take a client that week, sorry. She pressed me over and over, but I just knew that I was not to work on her--even though I wanted that money BAD. I learned later that she was bad news, and she could get a little 'stalkery' with people.

  14. P.S. After I decided to trust Him and turned that woman down, God provided in a big way for that week!
