Thursday, still trying, but that is all

I did get some things done yesterday, and I was very proud of myself. I have to have a bridal dress ready for a fitting at 8 this evening.  I have it ripped and ready for the machine, but I need to cut the hem first.

I am going to have to make myself do it as I am not feeling like doing anything. I did get to Joanns for 2 zippers I needed and that was an accomplishment. Go Kim.

It is hot here and I want to just go outside and bake.  Maybe tomorrow I will do that.  All day in the sun.

Still battling squash bugs in the garden.  Not as bad as previous years, but I thought the powdered pesticide was supposed to work?

Staring off into space seems to be my new talent.  I do it so well.

Kim

  1. It got really hot and humid today - but just had a huge storm come through and it is cool now. Going to be a hot weekend.
Take care - don't get over heated!

  2. The concept of going outside and baking makes me sigh. It is 103 out right now, 6 pm at night, and although the summer here in the desert has been really mild so far, I am just not in the mood to be baked to a crisp. I had to buy a fridge the week that my husband passed away…when I sold the house, the fridge was part of the deal. No problem I said, my condo has a fridge….albeit from 2001 as far as I can tell. Well the past two days the fridge temp keeps creeping up, even as I turn the dial to colder and colder. It is a crappy fridge so I just called up and bought a new fridge from our local appliance store, delivery tomorrow. One fridge every six months is an expensive hobby. Enjoy the sun tomorrow, I will be hiding indoors in the air conditioning! Hilogene in Az

  3. It is starting to heat up here once again. I will be out and about shopping early to beat the heat. Then hiding inside and packing for our trip.

    God bless.

  4. Years ago, I would gladly bake. Now, I just want ac and a view of the flowers outside. I just had some watermelon, the kind bought cut up in a container. So, it feels like summertime to me, in the ac and eating cold watermelon.

  5. Hang in there, Kim! You are coping, functioning and even enjoying moments in life more than you think! Overall, you are doing well! Try not to be so hard on yourself. :-)

Don't most of us have to kick ourselves into action periodically throughout life? Some mornings I really want to rebel and not subject myself to two hours of exercise (physio and general combo), but have learned that I will be miserable in about two days if I don't! I allow myself a break on Sundays (arbitrary day so I don't backslide!), usually doing one hour in the morning and 30 minutes to the usual hour in the evening (that tends to be more relaxing than morning routine).

Slightly envying your ability to bake outside. I'm a charter member of the burn, peel and freckle club! And live in the low desert! ;-) 🙄

  6. I can't even imagine how you deal with the heat down in the valley. I retreat inside and turn on the swap cooler. The heat just zaps my energy and makes me take more naps. ;)

I'm proud of you for getting things done even when you don't feel like it. One step at a time my friend. (((((((HUGS)))))

  7. I like the heat too but the humidity I could definitely do without. Hope you're having a wonderful week.
