Wednesday,I need a plan

I need an plan.  Then after I have the plan I need to stick to the plan.  I am so undisciplined and will use any excuse not to get things done.  I just want to kick myself.  I want a clean house and I want to catch up in the shop and, and, and.  Mom is driving me crazy.

I am trying to keep my head above water in so many areas and I am drowning slightly in all areas of my life right now.  I just keep dog paddling.   Shore is just out of reach.

Okay enough complaining.  I will get my lazy Arse into the shop and finish that Wedding dress and then onto another.  The pile is almost gone!  Well maybe  Practical Parsimony is right other things have replaced the things I have done.  But is not up to the ceiling any more.

The Queen of Hearts costume that I need to have done by June 9th will be handed over to the college intern that is working on the show so I don't have to do it!  Yeah!  She will come to my shop to complete as she needs more hours.  That is one less thing I have to do.  So grateful.

Well I am off to finish that dress and then get other things done.  Hopefully I can report a good day tomorrow.

Have a great and productive day!

Kim

  2. You are singing to the choir here about the plan and sticking to the plan! You still get so much done each and every day but I am glad the queen is off your plate now. Lighten the load!
Writing crazy train Tuesday really does help with the mom thing.

  3. I agree - Singing to the choir. I need to get in my shop too, but is it going to happen today? Not a chance. My pile has dwindled though - the last quilt to make. What is piled high to the ceiling - laundry and books. I need a house. My dear, if anyone can do it - you can! You move mountains.

  4. I have a plan for you! Find a college program that deals with geriatrics. Ask if there is a student who wants to really find out what it is like to deal with a senior. She or he can get hours dealing with your experiences. Don't put it like "helping" you. It is helping the student with first hand experiences. You can explain it to your mother as her helping this person with a class. NOT getting credit for dealing with a difficult case...lol.

Students can have courses called Individualized Studies. There are other names for this. A student may respond to a call from a Prof. Call the school and talk to Geriatrics Prof. Even if the school you contact may be far away, there may be a student near you who would welcome the chance to be closer to home and get first-hand experience. I received three hours credit several times because of what I did outside class.

Of course, you could put it to your mother as someone studying elderly experiences and what an elderly person could do. Then, the student could see what she could do--cook, and how much help she actually now needs from laying out the supplies to cleaning up. That might free up time, and your mind several times a week for a short time.

It may be called an internship, also. Good luck.

  6. What you need is about a week chock full of rain so you won't be tempted to go outside. Now that I write that though it seems more like a punishment than a plan. I have had to accept that when I clean house (or do anything else complex) I tend to dart from one unfinished thing to another. I never do things in a straight line. It bugs me to no end but that's just the way I was made.
