Friday, quiet here

Hubs took Roscoe and left for southern Idaho.  He will stop and pick up his parents and then go on to our daughter's house.  He had to take the dog for our grandson.  One of our nieces is the Rodeo Queen in the Ketchum (Sun Valley) Idaho rodeo parade.  So Hubs, folks and daughter and her family will travel up on Saturday to watch the parade.

I did not realize how much noise the dog made.  He is always being called from outside, or being told no or not to do something.  His toe nails and collar jingle around the house.  He chases the cats and drives them crazy.  He is a joy in action.  It is weird to hear the house so quiet, but it is also nice.  I love my puppy, I just didn't realize how much he affected my everyday life.

My sisters and I will leave tomorrow for Missoula. We have changed the place we usually stay to another.  We will rent a car for the service so if brother shows he won't recognize or id our car.  We have cousin who will be there that has a license to carry concealed.  We will also ask for a police escort.  What a lot of momma drama.  But it will soon be over.

I have decided to pay off all the debt except the car and house.  I will redo my budget and just doing this will free up over $750.00 dollars a month.  I thought that I would be able to add extra to the house payment this month, but with our trip at the end of September, I will need extra in the savings to cover expenses that we will incur. The idea is to now stay out of debt, except for a land purchase, which if done right we might be able to pay for with savings.  I just don't for see this happening soon.  We have the money to buy land if we find what we are looking for.

My life is going to change in so many ways.  Well actually it already has.  I feel very content now that I have made this decision. It will be interesting to see how the next few months pan out and just how much I am able to pay extra toward the house payment. I still can't believe I am here.  I have to pinch myself.

Well today I have to pay bills and then get a few things done in the shop.  Sissie and I are going to set up my machines differently.  I also have to make a few phone calls for September brides  and get my month set up.  I had another bride dress come in for the 15th of September.

So who is ready to see me off on this journey to pay off my house?  On your mark get set go!

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

  2. I am so very happy for you. I know it's bittersweet, but what a wonderful gift your mom has left you - the gift of peace! I'm praying you will find true contentment now and will be able to decide how much you want to work - not how much you have to work. You're going to have that house paid off in no time!!

    1. Thanks, you have been such an inspiration to me and we will continue to work on each other until you are here also. I am a workaholic so I doubt I slow down much. We will see.

  8. Having committed to paying off our debt and then mortgage and sacrificing anything else in the meantime, I salute you! It is a not a decision you will regret. There is immense freedom in being fully debt-free. You cannot imagine that feeling.

I'm glad you arrived peacefully at a decision......one thing off your mind to bring more peace.

    1. Thank you. But I really don't feel like I have sacrificed everything in this debt payoff. I have just been much more frugal in many ways develop[ed after years of being broke.

  9. Fantastic! But whoa...what was that Talbot's bill? I know you won't do that again! Use all this knowledge of the pain of debt to live an abundant, frugal, peaceful life.

    1. Oh Isabella. I am short and squat and only wear Talbots petites. Okay I am a clothing snob. But I also wear Wal-mart and K-mart. Talbots is my weakness. I have not bought a thing at Talbots all year. Oh hold it I purchased a sweater at Mom' 90 but I paid cash for it.

    2. Have you ever looked at Lands End petite? I shop that all the time, and they have GREAT sales all the time. Just this Labor Day weekend, it was 40% off everything. Last week, it was 50% off all kids items, so I picked up some things for the grandkids. The quality is great, and it won't break the bank like Talbots.

  12. A huge CONGRATS for paying off your consumer debt except for your house and car. I will be right here watching you pay off your home. Before you know it you will be debt free and on your way to retirement. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished!
