Sunday, please, I am trying to be lazy

I was stung by a yellow jacket while I was digging out canning jars on Thursday.  The sting did not hurt too long, but the itch will drive me crazy.  I have had hubs out there every day spraying and respraying as they come back.  Then yesterday while I was trying to be lazy, I burned the crap out of three of the fingers on my left hand.

I swear I had those fingers in ice water for over three hours before I could stand to live with them.  It was my own fault as I took two piecrusts out of the freezer to make pies(not lazy) and then when I pulled the crusts out of the 425  degree oven I somehow let my three fingers drop below the hot pad.  Well that was the end of my cooking for the day.  So I guess it did help me be lazy. The crusts are still sitting on the stove waiting for me to do something with them.

I finally nailed down dates for our annual fall trip.  Hubs and I will fly out to meet Sluggy and her husband on the 27th of Sept.  We are going to tour up the coast of Maine and other fun places.  I can't believe they agreed to go with us as we tried to kill them in Idaho last year.   I think they have think skins.

Well it is almost 10:30 here, so I think I will go upstairs and scare up a filling for those two piecrusts.  Maybe I will take a long walk before church.  We will see.

Have a peaceful and restful Sabbath.

  3. Girl you couldn't be lazy if you had to! Those yellow jackets can mess up an otherwise good day real quick. I was cleaning off my carport years ago, and one flew up and stung me on my mouth. I knocked my glasses off, and with tears streaming down my face and my lip swelling, I walked down the street to the store to get Benadryl. I had no idea how bad I looked until one the store employee asked if I needed the police. Everyone thought the Redneck had beaten me up!

  4. Those burns are the worst - I was trying out the Instant Pot my friend got me for my birthday and splashed water on my chest - it is JUST starting to peel and go away!!! I don't know which would be worse, the wasp sting or the burn. What did help is we got this aloe gel (from Wal-Mart I think, YEARS ago) and we keep it in the fridge so when you get a burn you grab it and not only does the aloe help the burn, but it is nice and cool too.
