Wednesday,I'm getting there!

I was able to go put $450.00 on my bill this morning.  I have $312.00 left before the end of the month.  But I had work come into the shop today and I took in some more money today.  I just have to keep plugging along.

I finally got those two really hard coats done and I will mail them tomorrow. Yippee!  Glad to see those go.  Like a load has been lifted.

Lil sis came over this afternoon and we got some curtains shortened for her dinning room and kitchen.  We had some good laughs, as I was making her help me.  She did not want to cut and iron, but to sew. So I let her sew and then she did not want to sew but to cut and iron.  What she really wanted was for me to do the work.  But I made her help and then made fun of her the whole time.  What are sisters for?

I watch a couple of blogs in the morning.  I wake up and have a diet coke and just veg for a while.  It is my wake up routine.  I mostly watch them so I can see what ridiculous thing they are going to do next.  I know judgy but they don't know me and I don't know them and no names are released to protect the innocent (I mean stupid).  They mostly clean and decorate and SPEND MONEY.  They do hauls. That is what they call them.  They will do a large grocery pickup and then show you what they bought.  Or they will buy things from several discount stores, Marshalls, TJMaxx, Ross, Home goods, Michael's, many things from the dollar tree.  Then they display the prices of said items and I start my judgy calculator.  It was only a dollar.  This was $12.99 , this was $9.99, this was $7.99, intersperse with , it was only a dollar.  My word the money that is spent on nonsense and clothes is ridiculous. It is materialistic nonsense and this is why I watch it.  Do any of you watch vlogs?  These cleaning vlogs are supposed to give you cleaning motivation.  They motivate me to want to sit and watch them.  Kind of like exersice videos that I like to watch.

Daughter took Schmills and Kelsa home this morning.  She asked if we wanted to keep Kelsa until this afternoon and I said no I have to much to do and all I do when she is here is play with her, then I watch her sleep.  You know I raised three kids sewing and I used sleep time to sew, but not with her.  I just sit in adoration.  Both hubs and I are just fools I tell you.

I really do need to get a good nights sleep, something I have not had the last few nights. Today in the shop I have 4 more zippers to get done. Then I need to go to McD's and get a diet coke, after all it is only a dollar. *snort*

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

  1. I occasionally watch vlogs, but not often. Do you ever watch vlogs about how to sew and "learn" from people who learned to sew last week, maybe day before yesterday? How they can teach anyone is beyond me. I sewed while my children slept. It was my "me time."

    1. I have laughed my way through a few, however there are some really good men's tailoring videos on YouTube.

  2. I have a couple Vlogs I watch, but they are about simple living. I have seen those others and they drive me crazy (not a far trip). So much senseless spending.

  3. Vlogs are great for learning about other cultures. Some can be so calming. Check out 'Talasbuan' and 'Liziqi'. Some 'frugal' blogs/vlogs are pretty outrageous as far as savings go. 'Coffee with Kate' which is under a new title now is always announcing a no spend month which is preceded by a huge shop of junk and organic food. But she is in it for the $ donations. I haven't shopped in a long time so I get my shopping kick from others posting. I have no doubt that you will reach your objective of paying that bill. Take time to breathe.

    1. I think that is why I watch them. I see the nonsense in their ways and stay away from said nonsense. I will look up those blogs thankyou.

  4. I do not like to watch videos unless it is HGTV House Hunters....lol. I do not watch cleaning videos because I am a very messy housekeeper, and just don’t let folks in my house. Solves my problem. I have a very good friend and I have never been in her house. She said she doesn’t do visitors. That is why she is my good friend...lol. I do dishes every day, sweep and mop once a week, but my home stays kinda messy, not filthy, but messy. I know where my stuff is located. Family only is my motto. I also, even in good times, don’t go out to eat with folks other than my kids. I take the missionaries food on Sundays, put it in church kitchen, and tell them to get it. Even before Covid, I did not have to worry about visiting teachers coming because I live 30 miles from branch, no one ever asked, they would just speak at church and say that counte....lol, and home teachers have never attempted to come to my house, no matter where I have lived, for the past 34 yrs. Works for me.

    1. I like to watch house hunting videos also. I want a clean house but don't really get into spotless. Both my sisters are much better housekeepers than I am.You only get VT and Ht here if you are on the A team. We are definitely B teamers. We don't make enough money to warrant callings. You must be a doctor or a dentist or married to one to get callings here. The same 9 women just rotate presidencies then onto the stake. Always the same doctors wives. For 33 years always the same people until new rich people move in. They all visit teach and home teach each other and then vacation together at exotic places and talk about it at conferences. I think the Savior just shakes his head. Hubs and I get the crap jobs no one will take. Like missionary stewards, which by the way is not a calling but an assignment. Don't really know the difference. Hubs was head of the cleaning teams for three years. It was a job set up for one year. But our Bishop had, called two other men for a yer a piece. They complained every time people did not show up and were constantly at the Bishop about people not doing the job. Hubs gets called and never complained. Often cleaned the entire church by himself. In fact Hubs and I did it several times by ourselves. Bishop caught hubs late one night by himself and was horrified so he stayed and helped him. Hubs had the job for the remaining 3 years of the Bishops term. Bishop apologized but said he just couldn't bare one more complaint every week. Now hubs has to get up at 5:30 every morning and go open the church, turn on the heat and lights a 1/2 hour early and stay for seminary. He was the first one called (actually the first one to accept) and then was told they were calling 8 men total so they only had to do it once every 2 months. So far it is hubs and another guy and we are going on 2 months. We laugh about the fact that He will be called as the old guy that takes care of the baptismal font. Another thankless job, where people try and use their power to break the rules. He will be called for life and as We both play the piano and direct music we will always have to do that. They will no longer even try to find anyone. That is our lot. We do laugh about it. We will be excluded from the kingdom and then the door will open a crack and someone will call out ,"Do any of you play the piano?" We will be let in with suspicion.

    2. Lol. I played the piano for the branch because nobody else wanted to do it. I am a pitiful piano player btw...they really try to bombard you with callings at this branch because so few. I said no, I will play piano and that is it. I asked to be released right at start of Covid because folks would not quit trying to hug me. Then, they cancelled church, and I was supposed to be moving up, on weekends, near my oldest and preparing for retirement in four years. I thought it made sense since I was gonna be up there and it is near where I grew up and I have a cousin up there, for me to go the the much larger ward there. However, that all has not panned out, son is saying he wants to move back closer middle of state, where his brother and dad are so I don't know what to do. My membership is up there, I am not going up on weekends because cousin apparently did not want to see me either (she is territorial about joint family land) and I don't want to cause a family mess, so I don't know what I am going to do. Youngest is moving to state capital so may go to church there on weekends but we will see. CIndy in the South

  5. Thanks for the laugh! Glad you and your sis have fun together. Great job on the saving!
No I don't watch vlogs or youtube. I tried a few times, but I mostly find them annoying. Some just prattle on and on...I tried watching a "frugal" vlog and she started talking about the "supposed pandemic" and "plandemic", well I'm not going to waste my time.

    1. Some people are just so.....I have lost my words. But I do love the ones that proclaim frugality and all they do is shop.

    1. Oh you aren't and then you are. I get good laughs off of the frugal ones that are not really frugal.

  7. I have watched vlog from 2 bloggers...one is frugal and restoring a farm house, the other is a gardener who puts most of their food on their table. Otherwise I have no desire to watch Hauls(had a friend go through withdraw of her hauls when covid hit and she couldn't go daily because her hubby refused to take chances.)...

    1. I watch one blog of an amazing young lady with unbelievable gardening skills so fun to watch forgot the title but I think it has roots in the title. (Winter here for too long so no thoughts of gardening now!). Plus I’ve watched a few random cleaning vlogs, love them and thought they’d inspire me but I did not get out of the recliner ha!

    2. I think there are many really inspiring vlogs that teach good skills. But I really like the ones that make me shake my head. I think I need to get a life.

  8. I do "watch" a couple of vlogs while I cook. Most of them do not require actual watching so I run my laptop audio through bluetooth on Alexa and can hear them perfectly well even if I go into another room. I only glance at them occasionally if there is something that sounds like I need a visual. The Dollar Tree hauls are some I like to listen to just for the giggles. I have no need for all that stuff and often wonder who has the storage space for 80 bucks worth of items from there..

  9. I am a bit obsessed with blogs, and rotate what my obsession is. Lately it's been a new to me blogger doing lockdown walking tours of London neighborhoods-as part of her hour a day of allowed outdoor exercise. I love food and clothing hauls because then I don't have to spend and get the feeling of buying crap I don't need to eat, wear, or have in my house.

  10. We don’t watch TV so i do watch a bit of YT. More than i should! Mostly news stations and craft so i can stay up-to-date on the world and learn a few ways to play. I check in with frugal people but mostly blogs. After awhile, it’s all blah, blah, blah, to me.
I have no doubt you’ll get your bills paid in no time.
