Monday, Evacuations are in order

Hubs and I were in Orophino, Idaho about 4:30 yesterday to check a missionary apartment and then onto Kamiah and then to Grangeville.  The Orophino, and Kamiah elders were evacuated about 2 hours after we left.  Fire burning right down to the apartment.  So we have apartments here with 6 and 7 elders in them until they can go back.  We just missed all the excitement and that is good as we would have been turned back.

The road into Montana is closed due to fires.  It is really frightening here.  We are fine just living in smokey conditions.

I got a call from our friends daughter in law and she said her father was just so thrilled with the pancakes.  SO we felt good about what we are doing to help.

I found out that Slugs is for sure going to Sis's this week and I am jealous.  They are going to have fun without me.  No fair!  And of course they are rubbing it in as much as possible.  I also found out that Sis opened her hall closet and found an empty coke can on a shelf in the closet and I suspect that Slugs put it there last time we were together to get me in trouble.  Not only are they going to have fun without me they plot against me.

My feelings.......

I have a busy week ahead of me.  Feeding 7 missionaries on Wednesday, having friends for dinner on Thursday. Plus I have a lot of work to do in the shop and the kids are here.

I need to go to the bank and fill my savings envelopes.

I know I do a lot of little savings game but they really add up and allow me to do things that I would not normally do.

What do you think about this?  Are any of you joining me on any of these pursuits?  What are you doing with your savings?  Are you saving for a cause?  IF so what?

Have a great and producitve day staying positive while you are in the negative.

Kim

  1. That is good you are part of a caring community, feeding the missionaries, checking on people, etc. The fire looks ferocious and I am praying it is out soon. Fire came close to my city earlier this year so I can relate.

    1. It is just a scary time here. We are safe but I just feel so bad for the people in the outlying areas, that are affected.

  2. I’m so glad your friend liked his pancakes and bacon. Sounds like Sis and Sluggy are plotting against you. LOL

We are saving to buy a home of our own someday.

Prayers for safety for all of you!

  3. Sending good thoughts to you & your community. We were on the evacuation watch list, and the neighborhood next to us evacuated last year. It was scary & overwhelming.

We are saving to pay off our mortgage, and so I can quit my big corporate job!

  4. Oh my! I thought you were evacuating. Do you have pictures and papers in one spot? That is just like a sister to plot. I don't remember what the envelopes are for or how it works. Can you explain it again? I have a small amount taken out of my checking account each month and put into savings.

I have never really understood your envelope thing - I just save and do with it what I need/want.

  6. Sending positive thoughts to all on danger. You're such a kind person to do so much for others. I like savings games and challenges. You keep on doing what works.

  7. I save my one's and all my change. Last year it was 5's to give to my granddaughter for her birthday. She is 22 and never uses cash. She thought it was funny and did use it. lol. I just started saving 1's and change again as I had a tight few months then my son died unexpectedly in his sleep and everything just got put by the wayside. It is nice to see how fast the savings add up. This batch is probably for Christmas so that it will be paid for.
